this episode ALWAYS makes me cry.....rose...donna...! With rose, she gets her 10, but OG doc doesnt get his rose...once again alone D':

Gwen, from Torchwood, is played by the same actress that appeared in The Unquiet Dead (s01e03), that's why Ten and Rose ask her about her heritage. I'm not a doctor shipper usually, so I don't endorse TenRose, but I do love the fact that she is finally reunited with her love of all time... with a little bit of Donna. The Doctor-Donna is my favorite duo forever and ever, these episodes always makes me suffer deeply.

Doctor Moon: "... and then, you forgot." The music that plays over the scene of Donna's forgetting is called "The Rueful Fate of Donna Noble", and it is so sad.

Fantastic reaction. Yes, we get more of the 10th! Just over a months worth of specials to come before series 5. I cannot wait for your reactions to what is coming ahead.

This Donna ending is one of the saddest of all-time for me. She doesn't die in a blaze of glory. Her end is so much more tragic. Going back to who she was before The Runaway Bride. Wilf was right. She was better with The Doctor.

The first time I watched this coincided with when I got my first big proper wide screen HD TV. All the big space shots just absolutely popped off the screen for me.

Watching this episode while following along with Torchwood & The Sarah Jane Adventures was such a rush. I don't know if any show will be able to ever that exact feeling again.

It probably doesn't matter much in the grand scheme, but you could probably hold off on the season wrap up until after the specials. They feel very much part of this season.

The fake out regeneration was a fake out but in the best (and worst) way - it wasn’t just a gimmick, it had major consequences. It led to Donna’s ‘death’ (living death?). The Doctor wanted to keep being himself but his actions led to…well, you know. Anyway, they do keep putting Ten through the wringer don’t they?? I swear they just keep making him lose people every chance they get.

‘I name you, forever! You are the destroyer of worlds!’ - Davros to the Doctor, after Davros literally just tried to annihilate the multiverse. Slay, queen! Davros is such a bitch, I love him.

Oh good. A nice happy episode........ 😢

Donna is my favourite companion, so this will always hit hard for me 😭. Especially considering that she thought that she was nothing and now has to go back to that way of thinking, not knowing that she saved the world 🥲

And now I"m crying again. But seriously, I absolutely love this season, I love Donna, and I love this finale. EXCEPT, I hate that ending for her. I admit I've softened on it since I first saw it, because I do understand where the Doctor was coming from with respect to not wanting anyone else to die. But all the same, he violated Donna's mind, not only without her consent but in direct opposition to her wishes. She knew she would die, and even so she didn't want to go back. All that growth, all that she had become - gone. I still kind of hate the Doctor for that, and I'll never really forgive him for it. I don't really get involved in fandoms, so I don't really know how many people agree or disagree with that perspective, but that's my feeling on it. And I love apple crisp. That looks absolutely delicious.

The knots in my stomach when this notification popped up… This is like the Doctor Who equivalent to the Buffy season 5 finale for me! 😂 The way it truly feels like a series finale rather than a season finale - showing all the people who have died for the Doctor, everyone coming together. The scale is insane, truly a great episode that I cannot bring myself to watch regularly lmao Also crazy for a season finale to be so inspiring and hopeful while also having one of the most tragically bleak endings of all time… Donna losing everything, all her experiences and memories of her journeys erased, and the Doctor alone again at rock bottom, losing Rose again AND his best friend 😫 and that final shot just lingering on his hopeless expression before cutting it black… insane I’ve never recovered from Donna’s ending. The Doctor reassuring that there’s entire worlds out there safe and sound, singing songs of Donna Noble who will never forget her… and I won’t either 🫡 The icon, the legend, the best temp in Chiswick and the most important woman in the universe: Donna Noble 💛💛💛💛

Seeing everyone pilot the Tardis 😭😭😭 so important to me “No, no, Jackie. No… not you.” 😂

Andrew Nicholson

Always nice to see cameos…it’s sad that real life events led to some of the actors eventually becoming persona non grata at the BBC…. But then, the next couple of seasons are great . Some great adventures ahead - including some more great emotional moments, surprises and story arcs …seasons 4-7 are quite possibly the best Dr Who run in its history…But no spoilers! Both happy and sad to see Bernard Cribbins , who passed away a few years ago. An absolute icon of my childhood.

Only leaves one question really, what in blazers is apple crisp? Some explanation would be nice.

Michael Fallon

Favourite part of this episode is when Davros talks about the Doctor's fury and shame. The Doctor's 'darkness' is something that is constantly there and it does come up in the future more so; and it's been an underlining theme thus far.
