Oh my god I was just looking a few minutes ago to see if this dropped yet

Lais

omg, the end of an era!!!

Tuckgrr

Yessss time to watch someone put themselves through pain 😂

Lindley Daw

The ending of this episode actually destroyed me when I first saw it. I get why “the line” was delivered that way but damn it makes it hurt so much more.

Jonathan Giles

Don't worry you've still got the behind the scenes to enjoy with the wrap up............ 😢

Lindley Daw

I will say although David Tennant is my favourite doctor Matt Smith is a very close second for me and series 5 has some of my favourite episodes of the entire show. I can’t wait to watch along with you!

James Miller

And now begins the peak of New Who. Series 5 and 6 are the absolute best of the entire run so far.

Lais

Darcie, you've been saying "I don't want him to go" for about two seasons now and I'm always like, giiiiiirl you said the thing!!! lol There's so much to say about these 2 episodes, all the TimeLord lore we get to know, all the nostalgia and callbacks at his goodbye, the song the oods sing being present through all the show so far... I love it so much, I think there were no better way to end Ten's run. Masterpiece. This episodes literally ends an era of Doctor Who. The showrunner from S01-S04, Russel T Davies, steps down and Steven Moffat [The Girl in the Fireplace, Blink, Silence in the Library...] takes over as showrunner alongside Matt Smith as the 11th. We whovians call those the RTD Era and now the Moffat Era, This is my favorite one. I'm so excited for what comes next.

The sheer amount of emotion packed in the last 15 minutes is off the charts especially that 10 minute goodbye.

Katrina T

I haven't watched this since it first aired and this was just as heartbreaking as I remember, cried along with you haha. If you ever miss watching David Tennant check out Broadchurch. He's great in that.

Andrew Nicholson

We were all sad to see David (10) go…but I promise, Matt (11) will be amazing. In fact, my personal favourite (and I've been watching since 1973)

James B.

It's kind of funny that the leader of the Time Lords isn't a king, a prime minister, or a chancellor. They're just a crappy president. I want to think it's a subtle dig at the US, but the current president might have skewed my perceptions.

Tsuliwaensis

it was so much fun revisiting the RTD era with you, thanks for taking us along! I do hope you like the next era, it's not for everyone and I'm gonna sit this one out and come back later. but if you find yourself not liking it either, don't worry, that's the beauty of Doctor Who, there will always be a new era that does things differently. and even when you're done catching up and there's no new episodes coming out, you still have all of the classics to dive into. and once you have finished all of those, there's hundreds - if not thousands - of audio adventures and novels to explore. and spin-offs, lots and lots of spin-offs. it's very nearly never over unless you decide that it is. safe travels! 💖

Em

Oohhhhh girl. When you said you were gonna lose it if you see Rose and up she popped, comedy timing. Also the big emotional climax into Matt Smith being <3 ridiculous <3 is so crazy to watch back now I've had a loooongggg time to sit with it. Age 13 I was unimpressed and in bits - looking forward to S5! (after the wrap up ofc)

Neil Silverman

Truly a wonderful season finale - I love how you went through all the same feelings we all went through when it first aired. Sadly, I ate all my cookies last night watching Dollhouse, so I don't have any more :-( FYI, the head timelord was named Rassilon - it was spoken during the episode but they didn't make a big deal of it. He was played by noted actor Timothy Dalton, who has been in quite a lot, including playing James Bond in a couple of movies. He was also great in the film "Hot Fuzz", which has nothing to do with anything but is an absolute must-see if you haven't already. As sad as Tennant's departure was, and kudos to him and the entire cast and crew for really making it hit home, on the plus side, our next doctor Matt Smith is equally great! Very much looking forward to you getting to know him.

Michael Jones

Russel T Davis wrote a book called "A Writer's Tale" about writing this. He said that, while she is officially unconfirmed, was meant to be the Doctor's Mother.

My stomach hit the floor when this notification dropped omg 😭 11 years old when I first watched this episode, sobbing in my living room. Now I’m 27 and sobbed just as hard 🥲🥲🥲 Literally as soon as Ten says “I’m still alive.” I’m crying until the end of the episode. The knocks being WILFRED??? Being so happy to have him here for these episodes and finding out he’s the cause of Ten’s death… emotional damage. Ten’s breakdown, lashing out at Wilf, screaming “I could do SO MUCH MORE!” before saving him anyway destroys me every time, because of course he’s gonna save him, it’s what he does 😭 The “I don’t want to go.” is SOOOOO MEAN!!!! Like I still haven’t recovered why would you do that to me! You starting both these episodes with “I don’t want him to go.” was so triggering like 🙅🏻‍♂️ can’t say that Also love that you’re assuming that woman was the doctors mum because that was literally my first thought even though she’s never named lol! David eye acting sold it for me, legend that he is 😭

And so ends my era of Doctor Who 🫶🏼 Thank you so much for giving me an excuse to revisit this series on a weekly basis all the way from S1 🥹 It felt special getting so watch someone experience something I loved so much when I was younger. 9 and 10 were so formative for me as a kid. David Tennant especially, just oozed charisma in spades that I was lapping up weekly for years of my childhood. It was a truly devastating moment for child me when he regenerated (even though it had been revealed in the media months prior lmao) and I think I did hold some resentment towards the show for a while after that. I still watched the first few seasons with Matt and enjoyed a majority of it, but it never really felt the same for me and I didn’t finish his run until years after the fact when I came back around to the show, so it’s not really MY era but I’m excited to see your reactions nonetheless 🥹 Also HE’S the “Strong Brow” Doctor you were talking about way back at the beginning? Bc that verbiage made me certain that it was a certain future Scottish incarnation 😅

Michael Fallon

Stunning reaction! I was so happy when you remembered that he wanted to be ginger. The 11th Doctor is amazing and I'm sure you will enjoy his tenure. There are a good number of minisodes and prequel episodes to come from now on.

Mesal Gear Solid

And this is where I'm out. I consider this the end of Doctor Who. Not a fan of everything to come.

DSJ.

I love the equality of the Doctor and the Master - equals and opposites. I love that scene where they talk to each other and the Doctor tries to talk the Master down - 'You're a genius...We could travel the stars together' ;( Doc just wants his oldest friend back. And he almost has a breakthrough with the Master - very nearly. Almost... if only those guys were able to be friends again :( The Master is always very funny AND very sinister - switches between them like a light switch. Beautiful acting from John Simm. I also like that in Part One you have a very deep, genuine, emotional chat between the Doctor and Wilf and also one between the Doctor and the Master. And in Part Two, you get two such scenes between Doctor and Master and Doctor and Wilf. So in both we get these deep, emotional conversations between old soldiers and old friends. He got to say goodbye (well, technically, hello) to Rose ;(((((((((((((( I love the idea that Ten thought to himself, 'How do I say goodbye to Captain Jack Harkness? Hmmmmm, I know! Get him laid with Alonso!' A true ally.

Alec, Seeker of Shine Sprites

Saying goodbye to all the characters we’ve come to know and love really makes this hit extra hard. Particularly when he visited Donna, Wilf and Rose. I think the first four seasons of this show are so good, almost perfect in my eyes. And i admit i couldn’t bring myself to watch anything past this point because I knew things would take a different turn. However, I’m willing to stick on this journey with you. And I also cant wait to share two particular videos when you get to the season 4 recap and the specials recap. Rip to the Tenth Doctor. Also while not dead, his wonderful queens (Rose, Martha and Donna) deserve the happiest of lives.

Salem

GIRL U MADE ME CRY OMG im so happy to be on this journey with u 💔

Johnny Coleman

This is MY doctor. I'm so excited for you to start his journey, it's still my favorite by far.

Anita

David Tennant and his doctor will always hold such a special place in my heart as the doctor I watched as a kid. He is who I think of when I think of The Doctor but I am soooooo excited for you to get to know 11! I came back to Doctor Who in my teen years and loved Matt and his arc. I can't wait for you to also meet his companions!!!

SunnydaleClassof99

I never would've guessed you'd connect with this show much. I was pushing for it pretty hard in the polls. I'd hoped you enjoy it but I really had no idea since this was a new thing for your channel. It's lovely seeing someone be able to discover this show all these years later. I've been enjoying this journey so much & I'm excited for what the future holds.

SunnydaleClassof99

The moment with The Doctor & the gun is so well executed. We know how much he abhors them. In those last moments they manage to create just enough tension about what he might do to cling to this version of himself. Also, the sound design the first time he pulls backs the hammer is fantastic. It jolts you like a bolt of lightning.

Im so glad youre loving this show. Now you see why this is my 2nd fave show of all time ( buffy being first). I was inconsolable when i first saw this ep, and was crying again with you today. I adore the scenes between 10 and wilf. The fact that it wasnt even an option for 10 not to save some little old human and end himself....and tennant is a phenomenal actor

That’s Not Acting

Farewell to the 10th/10b...ish? Say hello to **my** Doctor!

Ray D

I really like Matt Smith’s 11. I think David tenant is a great actor but his doctor feels a little bit too generic tv hero in a way. He doesn’t feel as alien or weird as I prefer my doctors to be. Matt Smith feels much more frantic and weird in an alien way IMO

Ben Boden

Matt smith got a lot of stick when he joined dr who because of how young he was and obviously he was joining after a brilliant run from David. That being said, Matt makes this character his own and solidifies himself as one of (in my opinion) best doctors in the shows history if not the best.
