it's funny that you kept talking about a pink dalek and these are the first colored daleks ever [edit: almost] lol about the moment that the doctor, when trying to prove to that guy that he was human, kept talking about loss and pain and grief and it wasnt working, until amy came and started to talk about love... i think it shows how the doctor percieves what humanity is, he thinks that because he suffers he is closer to us humans [and this is the tool that he uses almost every time], but actually it is the fact that he loves us so much that brings us closer, and amy shows him this...

Always loved the rainbow Daleks, yeah. Agreed not my favorite episode either, but I like the development we see in the Doctor and Amy as both actors start to really sink in to their characters.

Michael Fallon

Agreed with Darcie - not the best of episodes but had great moments and added to the overall arc. Next episodes are a step up. Reminds me how I felt after watching 10 in 'New Earth' back in series 2 - a pretty average episode but good Doctor and companion moments.

This episode was always pretty forgettable to me 😅 Idk I feel like NuWho built the Daleks up so much, with so much resentment and history with the Doctor, that they should only be reserved for big storylines, maybe even skip a season and come back better, not middle-of-the-season, kinda filler episodes 😅 but I can understand people wanting to see them every season

Safe to say that there was some {discourse} when this one aired over the 'new' Daleks 😅 biggest overhaul of their basic shape in the show's history. I think it'd look better if they were metallic colours rather than bright & glossy, for the reason that you said; they come across as less scary this way. On another note, one of the Ironside Dalek props visited my local library on the day of broadcast which was pretty cool. I now have the "To Victory!" poster on a shirt.

Andrew Nicholson

I wasnt a big fan of the plasticky look. Metalic colours probably sell the concept better. But its a cool episode & love the tip of the hat to a certain war movie.

Look it's The Mighty Morphin Power Daleks.

I'd completely forgotten about The Doctor & Churchill. Watching it again & it's not my favorite. There's some bits I really do enjoy: cookie bluff, Bracewell twist & the fighter pilots going into space.
