The framework episodes feel like a movie 😭 I LOVE IT SO MUCHHHH

I was waiting with bated breath for the Grant Ward twist, lol. That was great. Also, it occurred to me that this show just LOVES to torture Jemma Simmons. She has been through so much crap, and now waking up in a shallow grave in this hellish world? She really can't catch a break. But also, yeah, you're not kidding about this being scarily relevant to things happening today in the US - it's frightening, and I fear it will get worse before it gets better. Oh, back to the show, in the comics Hydra has had many "leaders" over the years (often at the same time and in competition with each other), one of them being Madame Hydra, who is usually depicted with green or green-streaked hair. So when Fitz meets with Ada and calls her "madame", and she's got the little bits of green in her hair, it's a neat little Easter egg for comics readers, while at the same time fitting completely within the context of the show.

Hadn't thought about how these episodes mirror whats happening today. Scary!

The only life where Grant Ward is hot is the one where he's not a nazi

Just wanted to note, that they did quickly explain why Jemma and Daisy can't leave. Jemma says something like, "they know we are here, they must have re-coded our exit" then they cut to the Aida and Fitz scene where Aida says something like she has removed their exits. So it was Aida that changed the Framework so they can't leave

I don't know if TPTB did it consciously as a gift to the fans, or if it was just an opportunity for more Ward fun, but I absolutely loved that they gave us the Ward we all thought he was in the beginning. Brett Dalton was amazing as Evil Ward, but I missed the Agent we lost, and it was nice to get him back again.

This episode is wild and beautifully chaotic! Alternate universe stories are my jam and AoS decided to best all of them by dedicating an entire story arc to exploring this Hydra nightmare world. It is incredibly sad that this story arc has somehow become even more relevant than when it originally aired. It went from a cautionary tale to a mirror of reality. Fun Fact #1 - The title is a nod to the Marvel comic anthology series "What if" that explores different alternate universes. Fun Fact #2 - Jemma's actress, Elizabeth Henstridge, caught a bad cold and lost her voice right before filming this episode and it oddly worked out since she was kind of playing a dead version of her character.

Also the gag of Daisy trying to use her powers and then followed up by Ward making fun of it, is somehow always funny to me!

Some little details about this episode you might've missed (there's so much packed in already): 1) when Jemma crawls out of the mass grave and looks down in the ground she sees what appears to be Deathlok (Mike Peterson aka Gunn!) who was buried next to her. 2) when Ward punches and knocks out Vijay when he starts talking during the interrogation, its very similar to how he shot and killed Nash (the fake Clairvoyant) in S1 in order to make sure Nash wouldn't expose or incriminate others (i.e. Ward himself) in the double-agent shenanigans he's doing. 3) Maybe you noticed or not, but when Coulson was looking through those papers and stuff he saw some hints of his real life including a flyer (or something) about a string quartet (which is a hint about the cellist he was in love with in S1 (Amy Acker).

The way that they keep bringing ward back legitimately makes me so happy, I'm convinced that the actor must be a super nice person and they just want to keep working with him.

Jemma, the nicest zombie you'll ever meet.
