Yes! The Rory and Paris friendship is one of my fave parts of the show. And it was so fun to see the dynamic between Paris and Jess in this episode <3

Both storylines in this episode are SO strong, I absolutely love it.

Connor

Absolutely love this episode. Essential in the overall Paris arc. The Lorelai/Emily dynamic, even when (sometimes especially when) it's not a good dynamic is such great TV

I always unpack into drawers in hotels, whenever they have them (which seems to be getting rarer these days, I don't know why). When I was younger, I was definitely a "live out of the suitcase" person, but then about a decade ago I found myself traveling for work several times a year for a while, and realized that it was MUCH easier, and honestly felt better, to unpack when I got to a hotel room. Grants a sense of normalcy to it, like I'm not just passing through but I'm living here this week.

OMG love this ep! One of the best of the season..

Yasemin

I'm with you there; I love a good night in (well, as Rory originally planned, at least ;)

Yasemin

OMG I screamed, when you said "you keep eating girl, try all the things" to Paris lol :)

Yasemin

Paris is fantastic. :)

Yasemin

Exactly! When you said "oh, how sweet of Luke", I was like, just wait and see :), but he IS sweet, of course.

I gotta give Emily some credit here. She actually tries in a way we haven't seen from her before. Unfortunately it's in the most suffocating way humanly possible. Even worse the moment she really gets out of her comfort zone she snaps at Lorelai. It's also the first time she admits being envious of Rory & Lorelai's friendship. Her not understanding why they can't have the same thing shows the gulf between what each of them feel their relationship is.

SunnydaleClassof99

Dean looking in that window at the end & knowing things are falling apart.

Paris with the save is probably the most selfless act we've seen from her so far.

God, I love myself a night in with some Indian food Palak Paneer, Lamb Biryani, Vegetable Samosas, and Onion Paratha. With an obscene amount of coriander and/or mint chutney on the side. Plenty of leftovers for the next day too; it's pretty much a whole event This is such a great episode. Not only is it funny, but there's a lot of memorable moments to it. Of course, Lorelai and Emily's spa trip is just a roller coaster. I love where they left things with each other though. Then we have Rory attempting a night of relaxation only to end up with SEVERAL UNINVITED PEOPLE who didn't even show up together?? I would be so stressed! WHY ARE YOU ALL IN MY HOME?? GET OUT

Listen...I know Rory and Jess are complicated and she should not be gaslighting Dean into thinking there's literally nothing there. But...fuck, I get so uncomfortable with that fight in the kitchen. My father was never violent but he would lose his temper at the drop of a hat and make it everybody's problem. I'm 33 and my blood still runs cold any time I hear anybody yelling angrily lol. Dean's anger issues are a huge problem separate from the Rory & Jess problem at this point Also, I really love Paris this episode. She's so endearing here ("Hay mucho mac & cheese!"). And she sees who I am 100% personally labeling as her best friend (whether she admits it or not) getting yelled at and steps in to take the blame in order to save Rory from an ugly argument

The Tape Hiss Manifesto

I am, even all of these years later, a total Jess and Paris and Jess and Lane BFFs truther. Luckily for me, there is a lot of excellent fanfic on AO3 that explores both of those dynamics. (I'm also a bi!Jess truther but that's a different story....)

The Tape Hiss Manifesto

So, as someone with a teen mom, I thought that Lorelai and Rory being best friends first and mother and daughter second was so cool.... Then I grew up and realized that while it is nice to be friends with your kids you should really be a parent first. Idk... I don't have kids so *shrug emoji*
