We have finally reached one of my personal favorite past episodes!!! And also one of the most popular past episodes amongst the community, I believe!

Main i LOVE this episode. Its so beautiful. wonderful take on depression in media, too

Neil Silverman

Yeah, you're not the only one crying at that scene... it always gets me. Wonderful episode, and definitely one of the best "past" episodes of the whole show.

I love this episode so much. I got so obsessed with the song the play when they go to the museum at the end when this first came out. It does such a good job giving the feels. Also love the doctor not being able to sit still. Our little hyperactive doctor comes back a few times lol There was major discourse when this episode came out about how they tackled the topic of mental health and depression. I agree that the way they put it is really beautiful. Loved watching this with you!!

DSJ.

When this ep came out, there was a little helpline given at the end - 'if you've been affected by any of the issues in this show, please call...'. Still the only Doctor Who episode with a mental health/depression helpline added to the end of the original broadcast ;( You can't help or cure people with depression, but you can at least add to their pile of good things.

Michael Fallon

Amazing episode...I don't think I can add more 🎨

“I don’t know why I’m crying right now” because we’re ALL CRYING BABE 😭😭😭 I’ve alluded in past comments how much I love this episode of series 5 😭 The museum scene with Vincent is undoubtedly another highlight in all of NuWho! SUCH a beautiful scene 🥹watching someone who lived what was (seemingly) such a haunted, unappreciated life during his time, get to see how beloved he and his work would become in the future. Genuinely touching moment And it feels so much bigger because the Doctor doesn’t usually break the rules like this!!! Letting someone see their personal future! He breaks a lot of em, but not that one 😂

Omg I don’t realise but of course! A “Past” episode that finally stands out - it was always gonna be Vinny

A beautiful episode and truly one of my favourites <3

Just an absolutely fantastic episode. One of the best standalone adventures. Tony Curran is wonderful in his multifaceted portrayal of Vincent. This also has the biggest name director for the series as it's helmed by Bridget Jones series & Love Actually's Richard Curtis.

The song playing during the museum scene near the end is "Chances" by English indie rock band Athlete.

A beautiful episode of television. One of the all time favorite Doctor Who episodes.

My favourite episode of Doctor Who and one of the only things that makes me cry. I've lost people very dear to me to suicide and the Doctors words about adding to the pile of good things are so great. It's not that you didn't make a difference, some times the bad things happen, but the good things are still there

I tried counting three times and I got between 131 and 135 words; sorry I am an applied math dude and VVG is my all-time favorite artist. I snuck out of a hotel in Paris to go see an exhibit, by accident and it was my best day on the planet.
