Two today? Wow

Andrew Nicholson

Two today because of the wedding season? Righto! Enjoy the wedding but remember: something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue. Anyways, on to Dr Who… told you there’d be a few familiar faces :-) , it really is a Who’s Who of UK entertainment. James C is fair enough but outclassed by a briiliant turn by a comedian who i shall refer to as F , who is in a later series. I was initially sniffy about F being in it, but by the end of Fs episode I was hoping he’d stay! Of course we can’t get into that more without spoilers. ..but thats something to look forward to.

TWO EPISODES?? Didn't realize it was my birthday.

whoa whoa whoa whoa WHOA... we get two Doctor Who episodes today?! Best day ever!

Daniel McGuinness

This episode being dropped with the previous one is the best case scenario - makes it so much more palatable 😂

Eeeee 2 episodes! I love episodes like these where we see just how alien the doctor actually is, and with some good comedy moments.btw matt smith was actually playing football in the episode, as he was nearly a pro player but i think he had an injury? So turned to modelling and acting

Michael Fallon

One of them episodes which seems pretty weak on its own but is part of a larger arc..planting them seeds.

Obligatory comment to say that Matt Smith was a Semi-Professional footballer before a back injury ended his career and he made the switch to acting!

This episode made me really love Matt Smith's doctor. I love how alien he feels, and its just so endearing and cute. Him just sitting on the armchair wrapped in wires and cables spitting out wine - just such a perfect Doctor moment for me.

Next time you feel like dropping 2 episodes in one day, do it again next week!

Re The Doctor and Amy being separated, The Lodger was the last ep to be shot (in a block with Amy's Choice: Block 7) and so to save on budget, it was decided that they'd limit Amy to the TARDIS and release Karen Gillan early. Presumably the budget saved by not paying one of their leads for another 10 filming days went on the FX budget for Eps 12 + 13 (Block 6)...

I know James Corden is a bit polarizing or at least oversaturated for some people. I haven't seen him in much so I think he works well here as Craig. Not an earth shattering episode but watching The Doctor try to be normal for an episode is a lot of fun.

Hello. I am from a while already but I finally had time to catch up. That was a good times when James Corden was just a popular funny british actor and not an international celebrity with ego bigger then Mt. Everest.
