Daisy's "I love you" as she's hugging Coulson for the last time always gets me. Their love for each other was always so intense but it was left unspoken, a lot of it being expressed through their actions and how hard they fought for each other. It was never outright said but it was very obviously a father/daughter relationship that neither of them got to experience until they found each other. If this was the last episode of AoS ever, I would have made my peace with that. This finale had everything you need to make an ending worthy of the legacy Agents of SHIELD created for those 5 years of airtime for their small yet dedicated fanbase That being said, I am very excited to not only watch you react to the rest of the show but the rest of the MCU as well. You still have the rest of your journey to complete

Oh this was one heartbreaking episode!! Fwiw, I don't think they would have killed Fitz if this was the last episode ever of AoS. I'm sure they must have shot two endings given the uncertainty around it

omg I don't think I can hit play on this just yet... breaatheeee ok ok ok... here we go.

The sobbing I went through with this finale when I watched it air the first time...and now I cried again (more controlled lol) watching your reaction Darcie. Who's like us...? Damn few, indeed... Interesting detail (that I think you didn't pick up on) is when Daisy storms off the Quinjet and yells back at Coulson ("We fought for you!"), is the same moment that we first saw in ep 5x8 where Voss shows Daisy footage of the last time anyone saw Daisy before the planet cracked apart. Which would imply that it was always Talbot who ended up cracking it apart but people believe that it was Quake cause of people knowing about her powers and in that future, Talbot must've succeeded in absorbing her and quaking the planet apart. Possibly also, the whole 'Destroyer of Worlds' title (which is whoever survived the infusion chamber) over time must've become conflated with Daisy's powers and so in Deke's future Daisy and DoW became one and the same.

So yeah, if this had been the series finale, I would have been satisfied with it. Yes, we still have the outstanding Fitz plot thread, but if had ended here, I would have been ok with it as a statement of "the show is over but these characters' lives go on, and they still have a mission." Bringing Coulson's story to a close the way they did was sad but also beautiful and really clicked in an emotional way. OMG, I'm watching your closing conversation and talking about SpaceFitz having missed his own wedding, and I had a ridiculous thought. It's like if you've been working on something on your computer, like writing a book, and then the power goes out but you haven't saved in a while, and now you have to go back to where you were yesterday. Assuming they find Fitz, it'll be like he's a backup copy, lol. This was a lot of fun, and I'm looking forward to moving on to S6!

Widely regarded as one of, if not the, best episodes of AOS. And, like Buffy's season 5 finale, this episode was fashioned as a possible series finale in case they didn't get picked up for season 6.

I live in Chicago and when Talbot crashed the ship into the skyline, I was like, "DUDE!" 😆️

But, I was a little proud that my city was pivotal in the finale of my favorite show. So, I was a bit conflicted. 😁️

This episode absolutely destroyed me when it first aired. I distinctly remember having a full-on breakdown in my living room and my family being like "dude, are you good??" But it really is an amazing season finale (and I agree on it being a satisfying enough series finale as well), with so many beautiful moments to balance out the devastating.

Wow, here we are at the end of season 5. This could have been the end for real and this would been a series finale if not for someone at ABC wanting more seasons at the last minute. This episode is so dang good. Glad to see you figure out what they were going for with Fitz. Some reactor's were slow on putting the pieces together. Super relieving to know there is another Fitz out there in space waiting to wake up in the future, but doesn't change that our Fitz does die here and the impact lands like a tons of brick. Just utterly devastating watching Mack and May comfort him as he dies and later on as Jemma realizes what has happened. I cried all over again. Also shout out to the producers and crew who intentionally saved up money from the show's overall budget so they could go big here. On location shoots, lots of special effects and major stunts all cost a ton of money but they made it all happen here to give the show a big send off. See you for season 6!

The way it took me so long to watch this because I couldn’t face watching that Fitz scene again 😭😭😭

So I only watched up to the end of season 2 on my own back in the day. Im currently on season 4 with you. But I knew this was coming. So big hugs 🫂
