So Glenn Quinn had drug issues that often led to him having trouble showing up for shoots on time or at all. It must have happened often enough to where they couldn't keep him on the show anymore and thus had to kill off Doyle. Unfortunately it got worse considering Glenn Quinn died a few years later. I'm not sure if Alexis Denisof (Wesley) was always going to show up on Angel or not but I imagine this definitely pushed it forward!

Just so you understand the whole "Scurge" (sp?) Motivation. Certain demon clans are known throughout the underworld as being tainted with human blood or being not fully demon. That's why the Scurge knew about vampires being the lowest, they literally are born from human bodies. It wouldn't matter if the Demon could pass as human or not when it's usually common knowledge to other demons.

I really like that they open this episode with Angel trying to get the Oracles to turn back time to undo Doyle's death. It's such an obvious solution not only to this, but also to any future problems our heroes might run into--so it was important to address it and take it off the table as an option, not because the Oracles *can't* do it, but because they *won't*. Cordelia's performance during her Stain-Be-Gone audition, complete with her first vision, is an absolutely iconic Cordy moment IMO. It's so funny and sad at the same time! It's interesting that we're starting to see a lot of examples of demons that are either mostly harmless or outright good on this show at the same time as we're exploring the idea of the government conducting ethically-dubious experiments on demons over on "Buffy".

I love episodes in the Buffyverse that give Cordelia more depth, this being one of them. That empathy guy really dug deep into emotions she had that we as an audience might not have been aware of. A little off topic too but I really love the green top Cordelia's sporting for the latter half of the episode. Probably one of my favorite Cordelia fits
