Madam Satsuma

Regarding when Kate and her dad are talking about Angel, "West Hollywood" refers to the city in Los Angeles that is an historic gay neighborhood, one of the most famous in the US. So the joke is supposed to be "He's not GAY, is he??" because that was THE joke of the late 90s/early 2000s. Cue eye roll.

Jeez, both Angel and Kate both had some real dickheads for dads, never really supported them or told their kids they loved them. No wonder neither of them learned how to talk about their feelings or express themselves, especially to/about each other. Plus it sure looks like all the approval Angel never got from dear ol' Dad he's getting from Darla instead, so big yikes there. Kate rockin' the Canadian Tuxedo. Fucking queen.

I just realized that most characters will have a birthday somewhere between late May to September. That way they don't have to have episodes about secondary and tertiary characters.

"Sometimes the price we end up paying for one bad choice isn't commensurate with the offense" --Angel, speaking from experience In some ways I agree that it's striking how different Angel and Angelus act, especially as the two versions of this character are juxtaposed with one another through all of these flashbacks... but isn't there a striking bit of continuity between them as well? Both of them can be interpreted as being driven by a desire to prove Liam's father wrong. "You're a layabout and a scoundrel, and you'll never amount to anything more than that." Both Angel and Angelus showed that to be untrue, though in very different ways.
