hayyyyy corn pops!

it's been a long time comin but i'm looking to (possibly....probably) add another show or 2 to the roster - now that i've (sorta) got this process figured out lol - and i wanted to gauge which shows have the most interest from yall so drop some ideas down below!

i'm also looking to add an option for a sponsored short series thing, something between 4-8 episodes or possibly some movie series you might want me to watch so DM me if you have any interest in something like that. :)

right now i'm just lurking interest and stuff - i dont really have a set date to add a new show but i'm thinking i would add one, then another later on so I can get in the groove of it all lol i never wanna sacrifice quality for quantity. BUT i do think it would be fun to finally dive into another show of some kind... anyway enough rambling from me -have a wonderful weekend love yall bbye :D

I would love to see you watch Fleabag or Ted Lasso 🥰 and movies? Everything everywhere all at once 😍 and Your Name.

Christine

Veronica Mars ! Joan of Arcadia ! The 100 !

Mary Baldwin

If you haven't seen it, I highly recommend Charmed. It always felt very similar to Buffy and Angel to me. Helps that they came out around the same time lol

GaveUp

Chuck, The legend of vox machina, firefly, dollhouse... all solid choices.

Scott Margeson

It all depends on what you like / could be into. I'd honestly really recommend WENTWORTH. It's an Australian equivalent to ORANGE IS THE NEW BLACK but it one-hundred times better and more realistic!!! Another one is ORPHAN BLACK, which ran for five seasons, so it'd be an easy watch! If you want to stick within the supernatural realm, you could also try the original CHARMED, which is not as strong, but still good. Or a classic: SABRINA THE TEENAGE WITCH

Bastion33

If you think you're better with the "Horror" genre, then maybe try the Pilot episode of "The Walking Dead" lol. Otherwise I'd say "The Umbrella Academy" is a really fun series.

Andrew Pulrang

"Firefly," another Joss Whedon show, and only a shortened season long. I also recommend "Veronica Mars," a bit like Buffy but without the supernatural.

Pumpkin 3.14

I would love Yellowjackets, but there aren't a lot of episodes yet. Veronica Mars, Person of Interest, Lucifer, and Dollhouse are all good.

Skeletor Rigby

Seconding Veronica Mars and will also throw in Firefly for a short one! They’d be good fits with Buffy and Angel :)

Linda Sanchez

I’m going to add on a vote for Veronica Mars. I want to say Supernatural because I loved to giggle at you getting scared but I wouldn’t want you to commit to 15 seasons when really stopping after 5 is best.

Nica Marie

Given your enjoyment of the pilot, I have to say Veronica Mars.

Imogen

Ooh! Definitely would recommend Veronica Mars or OG Charmed for you. Both such amazing shows with great characters and a solid mix of humour and drama like Buffy :)

Colleen

Vote for Veronica Mars!

Alexis Cardarella

Veronica Mars for sure! Also, I Love Bekka & Lucy is a super super underrated short series with Alexis Denisof (Wesley) and it's so fucking cute and will have you in stitches. And I also recommend Crazy Head, which is like the British Buffy. It's so gooood ✨

Jayme

I would love to see you watch Charmed, the original not reboot cuz the 90s really knew how to make witchy stuff fun, plus it's heavy on sisterhood and female empowerment! I also agree with the folks above that mentioned: Veronica Mars (another badass female lead, often compared to Buffy), Lucifer (very thought-provoking and devilish ;)) Chuck (even just a Pilot Says if you're ever looking for some nerdy spy action) If you're wanting something more current, Ginny & Georgia is my latest guilty-not-so-guilty pleasure cuz it's just so fun and bubbly and fascinating.

allison lussier

If you’re looking for a short show to watch good omens was a good quirky Supernatural miniseries- 6 episodes. There was also a miniseries from the early 2000s called the 10th kingdom that you may enjoy- very cute fairytale/real world

Tom Tattershall

ORPHAN BLACK (5 Seasons, 50 Episodes), THE MAGICIANS (5 S, 65 E), LOST GIRL (5 S, 77 E), FRINGE (5 S, 100 E), iZOMBIE (5 S, 71 E), THE GOOD PLACE (4 S, 53 E - 22 minutes), AGENTS OF SHIELD (7 S, 136 E), SCREAM QUEENS (2 S, 23 E), VERONICA MARS (4 S, 72 E + a movie), and ZOEY'S EXTRAORDINARY PLAYLIST (2 S, 25 E + a movie) are some of my top suggestions.

DaniJay

Adding my vote for Charmed! Witches and lots of fun supernatural creatures—It’s from the same era as Buffy so I think you’d have fun with it. Veronica Mars and Gilmore Girls would also be great options if you want to venture outside the genre shows :)

Steven Winthrop

Charmed (OG), the rest of Veronica Mars, Roswell (1999). For movies the rest of Scream and the Chucky movies (I don’t think they’d be. Too scary though I can’t remember how you feel about dolls. Also Dead Like Me and Julie and the Phantoms.

Denni Caid

Always up for Firefly, Dollhouse, Agents of SHIELD... also Once Upon a Time, Timeless, and I'm currently watching Ted Lasso with Lexi right now and loving it.

Timmers

Dollhouse!!!

Summer Elaine

Charmed! it’s got creatures and magic and cheesy 90s music/special effects. seems super on theme with the buffyverse vibes

Jasmin

I think you would love Dollhouse, as it stars Eliza Dushku. Not enough people have seen it in my opinion. On a whole different vibe, reacting to Band of Brothers would be incredible. It's a 10 part mini series, but it's so impactful. I also agree with the votes for Veronica Mars and Once Upon a Time.

BHillzebub

Charmed, Agents of Shield, Stargate SG1 and the obligatory Firefly/Serenity suggestions.

SunnydaleClassof99

Person of Interest would be a fantastic next show to watch. I just recently re-watched ot & I can't recommend it enough. I think it's best going in knowing as little as possible. I'll just say that it's just thought provoking show that expands over time

Chad Wilson

Firefly is a must and its just 1 season.

M

For shows- Felicity, Friday Night Lights, Veronica Mars, the original Roswell… I could go on lol

Corey

Yellowjackets

Ilana Kruger

I totally recommend the Sandman in netfix! Only 11 episodes !!!

Danie1Esq .

Doctor Horrible’s Sing-A-Long Blog!!!!! Only 3 parts! It’s amazing!

Danie1Esq .

And Firefly. Definitely Firefly.

Brittney Stevens

Most of my recommendations may mean nothing because they're all made in Canada so you might have seen them but you guys really know how to pull a television show together so I pick 'Wynonna Earp', 'Lost Girl', 'Carmilla the web series'. And I love watching you watch anything scary.

Ray D

Veronica Mars. A lot of similarities to Buffy, strong willed, plucky, quipy, blonde protagonist, fun mysteries, lots of cameos from Buffy alum in fun roles, and it was Joss Whedons favorite show on TV while it was on. And it has the best Father/daughter relationship in TV history. Kristen Bell is fantastic as Veronica.

Kenn

I really love My So-Called Life

Peta D

Orphan Black is an awesome show with lots of traits and turns. Love Veronica Mars and Firefly!

Pooga

Another vote to round out the Joss Whedon set with Firefly & Dollhouse. Also Veronica Mars & iZombie from Rob Thomas, and Mike Schur's The Good Place. At one point you mentioned liking "heist" stories. If you can find it, Leverage is pretty good, plus it has Christian Kane (Lindsey from Angel).

That’s Not Acting

If you're looking for a show that is deeply loved by its fandom but wouldn't be a 5 or 7 year commitment there's always Firefly. It's just one season but the fans made such a fuss when it was canceled that a few years later they made a feature film to wrap up the story properly. The season is just 12 episodes and then there's the movie. (another joss Whedon series -- as is dollhouse. Probably his best, honestly).

Mother of Cats

Veronica Mars, or get into the Star Wars movies if you havent seen them, New Girl (low stakes, but super fun), Fleabag, Outlander, Stranger Things.

emmaaa

Veronica Mars or Gilmore Girls !!! Both shows get better after the pilots, especially Gilmore Girls :)

JenM

Doctor Who!

Bri

Veronica Mars or Battlestar Galactica for me. A lot of people are suggesting Dollhouse, but I just can't after the Joss Whedon / Dollhouse revelations.

x_Rhi_x

Dr Who, The Good Place, Dollhouse ♡

Lunchtime Be Damned

I would love to see you watch something like Arcane, Dollhouse/Firefly (if you want more Whedon-written stuff (even if he's yucky)), Maybe the 2018 She-Ra if you want something a little lighter that has a ton of heart (and gets better the father into it you get). You've done a Pilot Says to a couple of my would-be suggestions like Veronica Mars and Roswell (1999). I assume you've seen modern-classic shows like ATLA, but maybe something cheesy like Smallville would even be fun! I've got pretty much endless suggestions lol, but the ones I mentioned above all have a pretty good balance of light/dark, humor/pain like the buffyverse (some lighter than others and vise versa but you get it haha).

Rhi

Our Flag Means Death - 10 episode lovely little heartwarming pirate comedy

Gretam

The Magicians! I just stumbled across the magicians a couple years ago and couldn't believe I'd never heard of it before. It's ridiculously fun. Also. Fringe or orphan black would be amazing.

JANJ

Another vote for Sense8. I enjoy Charmed but it is not a consistently good show. 10 seasons is a big commitment and I genuinely do not know if the payoff is worth it.

Evelyn

James Cameron's Dark Angel <3 only two seasons sadly but I enjoyed it, and I feel It really has more prevalence these days with the LGBTQIA + community.

Reymond

The boys, one of the absolute best series right now

The Oracle Witch

Veronica Mars 100% wish for, Charmed, Ahstories or even the main show. SUPERNATURAL. You could totally handle the monster of the weeks and theres 15 seasons with bonus stuff. EMPLOYED FOREVER lol you know ill pay forever to be a cornpop. :) Dark Angel is ok choice but it doesnt have much guts, not many seasons. It be over quick. Same with dollhouse.

Cas Harris

Orphan Black is phenomenal.

R J Walker (FumblesMcStupid)

So, for modern stuff I'd say Our Flag means Death or Ted Lasso BUT for a left-field, older option - Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries a) It's not many episodes and one kinda canon film b) Amazing female lead (a little like a female James Bond lol), great characters in general c) Amazing 1920's fashion, music, cars, trains etc d) Australian so a different vibe e) Mostly just a fun romp with often daft plots (but that's not why we watch it ;D) so it would be a nice change from many newer shows f) If you can imagine a show where Jenny and Giles are the main characters and they're solving crimes in 1928-29 Melbourne with a group of found-family characters then that's kinda it. If you don't do reactions just watch it, I can guarantee it'll put a smile on your face <3

Val ☽ ‣

from what i'm seeing in these comments so far veronica mars would be super fun!!! i'd also be really down with orphan black or gilmore girls. to throw out some that haven't been mentioned yet (i think), the x files, doctor who (2005), alias would all be really good choices too. but you know i'll be here and along for the ride no matter what lol.

Paul Maki

Based on above comments my ranking would probably be 1) Veronica Mars, 2) X-Files, 3) Gilmore Girls. But if I had big money I’d pay extra to see you react to 18-episode Canadian series “Slings & Arrows” which I personally rank among my top five favorite shows, and my #1 based on consistent quality.

Ann Reinke

Something else from that era would be great! X-Files, Gilmore Girls, etc. I'm also putting in a bid for Twin Peaks for the weirdly wonderful. Thanks Darcie!

Ashley

Veronica Mars and Supernatural have my vote! I promise Supernatural gets a lot less scary after the first few episodes lol

Scott Kenney

In order: Veronica Mars, Firefly, Doll House. Short Series: Good Omens

GenU

For an older show that the young uns here have probably never seen but is excellent: Dead Like Me. This is a show that has only 2 seasons and a movie and I haven't seen anyone react to it. It is about a set of grimm reapers that collect souls and guide them to the afterlife. The female protagonist, George, is mentored by Rube, played by the incomparable Mandy Patinkin. I remember loving the show and I think you will too.

HollyJ.07

I’m gonna throw in another vote for Gilmore Girls! It might be cool to do a show more rooted in reality and because the relationships are so complex it gives you a lot to discuss and pace about. Also the creator of Gilmore was a huge Buffy fan and often had it playing in the background while she wrote scripts so it sometimes has a similar rhythm

Quiver

Firefly and Dollhouse are must-watches for any Buffyverse fan. They are very different from Buffy and from each other, but they're both excellent. And both are comparatively short - firefly is 14 episodes (1 season) and Dollhouse is something around 26 I think (2 seasons).

Christine

I commented yesterday, but I just remembered another show: Alias ! You would LOVE it !!!! Plus, there might be a few familiar faces here and there :-)

Kate

This doesn't have much fan base, but The Great on Hulu is a fantastic watch, whether you do it for patreon or not. 2 seasons so far with a third (final?) premiering next month, 10 episodes each, darkly funny af and Nicholas Hoult being a delightful asshole to boot. I think you would get a kick out of it! Veronica Mars is another good shortish series, def in the Buffy vein. I didn't watch it at the time because it was marketed as a "replacement" buffy and I was a resentful fan lmao. But I kicked myself for it when I finally did!

Calistus Jay

I would recommend The Good Place, FRIENDS and the Cabin In The Woods movie.

Matthew

As long as you are aware that any new show you add will pale in comparison to Buffy 🙂. I would echo the recommendations for Firefly, but I would add Fringe. I know you would love Fringe.

Ray Hock

Fringe and Alias are 2 of my all time faves. How about Tru blood? Like Buffy for a more mature audience

RNR

Ooh, OG Charmed is a great choice if you're looking for a longer show (8 seasons) and I absolutely LOVE Dollhouse (2 short seasons, 26 episodes total). Two of my all-time favorite shows, I've been watching them since I was a preteen and I still watch them both

charlie ray

if you want to stay in this zone, id say dollhouse... or firefly.....

RNR

Oh, also totally off genre, but New Girl is a HILARIOUS sitcom and I think you'd like it.

Kristina Allardice

It's a criminally underrated show, but I want to suggest La Femme Nikita. It came out around the same time as Buffy (1997, I think) and has an awesome female lead.

lo

another vote for veronica mars here!

Claire Eyles

Grimm or the original Twilight Zone.

Claire Eyles

Movies that have a tie in with Buffy would be fun as well. We could make a list of films that Buffy actors have either been it, or that were referenced in the series & then you pick one (or we vote on it) once a month to react to. :)

Conlan

Heads up there are lots of trigger warnings for dollhouse. I really like the good place, firefly is also pretty good, Sarah Connor chronicles ( takes place after first 2 terminator movies). 12 monkeys is an amazing series but is tragically unknown by most people so you may not want to pick it for Patreon but still watch it on your own. If you decide to do a movie: Jupiter Ascending.

Ephinyus

I suggested this during the 1st season of Buffy, so it might be on your list, but I'd love to see you react to the tv show CHUCK. It's a really fun show! The original Charmed is great, but it gets hard flagged by youtube. Lost Girl is also a great show.... it's also a Canadian show so you may have already seen it?

Superplin

Another vote for Veronica Mars, and I also think you would love Ted Lasso. Personally I think Firefly is overrated, and Dollhouse is underrated, but I'm not sure I see Dollhouse as a Darcie show.

Alphatrion

Definitely Veronica Mars as so few people react to it and it’s so fun

Misssy

Charmed, Gilmore Girls, The Mindy Project, Veronica Mars, Supernatural, Sons of Anarchy, Sex and the City, Degrassi the next generation

Rileymetal

Black Sails Veronica Mars Daredevil

Gretam

Can I just add one more thought. I'm hoping you don't do a poll lol or if you do do a poll.. do it just to create a short list. I reckon you should look at the most popular shows being suggested and do a little research about what they are and decide according to what appeals to you.. this might already be your plan lol but geez, some of the shows being suggested i love and others.... let's just say.. I feel like it would be a waste to have you reacting to them lol but it's all just a matter of opinion. I'll probably follow you on whatever journey you take :) love your work

bing.E

The new series adaptation of Interview with the Vampire was amazing that just came out on AMC a few months ago. Its only 8 episodes. I have no idea about sponsorships though, sorry. It’s a really good show though. I think it has 99% rating on rotten tomatoes and 4.2 out of 5 on google. I would love to see your reaction to it, if you choose to do so :). Oh and if you’re looking for a longer show, Lost is a pretty good show with a huge following on YT (reactions). I haven’t seen it in a few years but I remember it being well worth the watch!

madfem

obviously Firefly and Dollhouse, then Broad city, Fleabag, Twin peaks, Six feet under 🤩

Noah

Gonna toss a couple of unusual things out, just to keep things interesting: * Carnivàle (2003) * Legion (2017)

Erotic Education

Veronica Mars would be a fun transition show, it's high school in the 00s instead of the 90s, it's similar in tone (at times) and it's a cult fav.

Rae

Charmed would be my pick. It started airing in 1998 (one year after Buffy), so it's set in the same general time period, but with adult characters instead of teenagers. It's got a lot of thematic crossovers with Buffy, focusing on female protagonists saving innocent people from demons and monsters, while also emphasizing family and friendship. The main characters are sisters who find out they're witches.

charlie ray

Oh my god agents of shield is amazing I just saw someone suggest it and I’d love to watch that with you… it’s so good

charlie ray

Agents of shield has so much heart and good writing and badassness…. I think you will love it

charlie ray

And it gets better and better

Renee Pope-Munro

This doesn’t fit your specs exactly, but you LOVED the Veronica Mars pilot, and the show is just brilliant. Irreverent but moving, thought provoking and quippy, doesn’t pull punches. It’s. Fabulous show, and not many seasons to contend with, 3 network-ish length, a move and a short run 4th season.

Ray Hock

How about Tru calling? Faith's other show. I think the same number of episodes as Dollhouse too.

Tom Tattershall

I'm going to suggest doing a series of pilots of suggested shows and then picking a few that you find the most interesting for a poll.

Hannah Dutton

Not going to lie, I've been hoping you would finish off Pretty Little Liars since you watched the Pilot on your YT channel.

Pooga

I originally thought about recommending some animated shows, but decided against it. After seeing your reaction to "Once More, with Feeling" and how you mentioned shows should have music in every episode, I've changed my mind. Probably the best "songs in every episode" show would be Phineas and Ferb. My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic is also up there with the song count. My strongest recommendation has to be Steven Universe. It doesn't have a song in *every* episode, but it has a lot of singing and the best storyline progression. It may seem pretty corny at the beginning, and it takes its time early on to set things up, but it pays off for the kind of attentive viewer you've been with Buffy. Those are just the ones that are song-heavy. There's been a lot of good animated shows in the past couple decades that are theoretically kids' shows but really appeal to a wider audience.

Bobbie

Given your reaction to the wonderful Once More With Feeling, I'd recommend either Crazy Ex-Girlfriend or Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist, if you haven't seen them. Both shows are musical TV shows, the first with original songs and the second a jukebox musical. They're also both great.

Shelby

If you want something well-written, funny, and with short seasons: I vote for The Good Place (if you haven't already seen it, of course). It is genuinely one of the best comedy series ever.

Sarah

Honestly I would love to see you react to Over the Garden Wall. I’m not sure if you like animation or if you’ve seen it already. I just feel like it’s perfect for you; autumn vibes and music. Plus Elijah Wood, if you like him. It’s a short show (I think 10 episodes 11 minutes long). The music is so good it kills me and the animation is stunning.

Mother of Cats

Since you loved the Buffy musical episode so much, you gotta watch Dr. Horrible's Singalong Blog.

Aranwulf

Firefly, its one season and was created by Joss Whedon and shares some DNA with Buffy.

JDM

LOST

Teresa Schultz

Dollhouse (Eliza Dushku ❤️❤️❤️)

Jasmin

Ooooh. I also just thought of "What We Do In The Shadows" for you to watch if you haven't yet! Campy Vampires and lore. I think you would love it.

Erica Schaefer

Late to the party here, but a super fun one-off watch is Dr. Horrible's Sing-a-long Blog.

StephanieB

These are movie requests but...Considering how much you love Grease 2, I thought you would have already posted a rewatch... but I didn't see one! This is my vote :). Also voting for Cruel Intentions (I can never get enough Sarah Michelle Gellar)
