Willow's arc is my favorite in all of the Buffyverse. It's a nearly perfect plotting of a heel turn ... whether or not it was planned this way from day one. There was evidence as far back as Season Two that Willow had the potential to go off the rails in some way. And that's not even taking into account the simple possibility of that happening just because she was a meek, bullied nerd, which was apparent from the Pilot episode.

Don't forget Giles is still a sorcerer. Just because he became a lot more hesitant to use magic, unless in exceptional circumstances, because he got involved with a bad crowd once and inadvertently caused the death of a friend, that doesn't mean he doesn't still know how to do stuff.

Dark Willow is fun if you don't think about all the pesky morality stuff. lol. I like to think, like mentioned above, that it was planned from as far back as season 2, but IDK since I think the show was written more with only 5 seasons in mind. But in Oz's episode 'Phases' in season 2 he has this exchange with Larry and I use it to believe it was planned. Larry: So, Oz, man, what's up with that? Dating a junior? Uh, let me guess. That little innocent schoolgirl thing is just, uh, just an act, right? Oz: Yeah. Yeah, she's actually an evil mastermind. It's fun. And of course the return of Giles is such a huge moment. I love that they chose to put his credit at the end so as to not spoil it for everyone. Anthony Stewart Head can play extremely compassionate father figure and on the turn of a dime a truly scary guy so well. It's wild.

First of all, Dark Willow spitting some truth at Buffy and Dawn…. Ouch!! (Although I love them both). Second, Jonathan is so done with Andrew!! Third, that transition from Rack’s Place to The Magic Box is so freaking smooth! *chef’s kiss* And that end shot…. I was waiting for that!! Sooo goood! “I’d like to test that theory!” (Did you need some help getting your jaw up off the floor?!) I’m not crying, you’re crying!
