I always find Willow's opening spell attempt against Giles to be really funny, because she calls on Asmodeus. Asmodeus, among other things, is a demon that represents lust. So her plan was to defeat Giles by making him really horny? ;D

How very rudepert of them 😂 so glad you enjoyed so much, and predicted so much!

I remember back when the show was still in production and shortly after, there was a lot of dislike for this season. Maybe because there wasn't a traditional "big bad", maybe because it was just so heavy and downright depressing in parts. But I've always loved it. I think it's a fantastic look into some really deep issues affecting our characters, and the writing is top notch. I will forever love S6.

You are wonderful! So in touch with your emotions!

Yeah. yeah. yeah. The final season finale of BUFFY. It always hits me in my feelings. "Buckle up Rupert, cause I've turned pro!" amazing.

Nothing like Sarah McLachlan’s music in a Buffy season finale (the last time we got that was the gut-wrenching end of S2). Final lyrics in this one: “And it’s in giving that we receive/And it’s in pardoning that we are pardoned/ And it’s in dying that we are born” Meaningful on so many levels- for all our characters. Also, I know we all knew that Spike would survive the trials but after his assault on Buffy, it was rather satisfying seeing the crap beat out of him and nasty giant bugs crawling up his nose, right!?!

I love this season three-part finale so much. Wonderful reaction to this trifecta, Darcie. It's interesting that you said the big bad for season 6 is life. That's what I've heard that Joss Whedon said about the season, but also a lot of fans say that as well. If someone told you, great, but if that was out of your head, that's really cool. I, like many others, hated this season on first watch (except for certain parts of it, including the three-parter finale. But after many rewatches, as I've gotten older, I've come to love it. And now onto Season 7. Season 5 is my favorite season, but 7 is a close second. The only reason 5 beats 7 for me is that while season 5 has only one episode I don't care for as much (Triangle, the one with Olof the Troll God) season 7 has 2 or 3. The rest of it is great, though, and I can't wait to see you react to it!

The fourth time Xander saves the world.

I just love how much you love this show and how insightful you are. I also enjoy Evil Sassy Willow. She is very entertaining! I’m so glad that you knew Spike was going to get his soul. So many people fall for the misdirect, but like you said, it doesn’t make sense for him to go that route to get his chip removed. 1) He can already hurt Buffy even with the chip 2) The chip is medical, not magical. The writers do push pretty hard on the misdirect though, to be fair! Never feel bad about tears. I can’t even count the number of times I have watched this show and it still makes me cry. That’s part of why it’s so good!! Great reaction!

So, I have this headcanon theory of mine and I originally wanted to post it for the season 5 finale, but decided to wait until the season 6 specifically because of one specific dynamic in this very episode... Theory: It's a long theory but to summarize, Dawn was intended to be given to be Faith's little sister, not Buffy, but Faith subconsciously passed the duty of protecting Dawn and stopping Glory to Buffy in Graduation Part II during the shared, Slayer coma-dream. It's why Faith is the only one who understands what's going on in both dreams, guiding Buffy to prepare. It's why Faith refers to Dawn fondly as "little sis" in the dream, not Buffy. Dawn, Glory, the portal in The Gift? It was all meant to be Faith's destiny, but her turning dark, then a coma, she could no longer do her duty as The Slayer and gave the responsibility to Buffy to make sure her "lil sis" was protected and taken care of... The reason I bring this up, one of the reasons I feel it's case is because how different Dawn would have been with Faith instead of Buffy. Where Buffy tried shield Dawn from the horrors of the world, both "real-world" & supernatural, Faith wouldn't have sugar-coated stuff with Dawn. Buffy was afraid of Dawn being in danger and kept giving herself the false belief that she'll always be there to protect Dawn, whereas the harsh reality of Faith's world would have pushed Faith to make sure Dawn could take care of herself (much like Faith had to even before becoming a Slayer) because she'd KNOW that she wouldn't always be there, whether simply not being with her 24/7, or because she's dead. One thing that always bothered me about the Buffy/Dawn relationship and why I loved their scenes in this episode because although it took two seasons for Buffy to get it through her head, you're right, Buffy should have been trained Dawn in SOMETHING by now and not doing so, and constantly excluding her despite Dawn's age, only continued Dawn in more danger. They both needed that moment of understanding and it is definiyely one of my favorite Buffy/Dawn scenes because FINALLY. Faith would have had Dawn more trained than any other Scooby... We saw how Faith was with a father-figure, how much she cared, protective, and how he mattered to him. Now, imagine Faith with an actual little sister that was under her care?...

I’m SO excited for you to watch season 7!!!

One of my favorite, and often overlooked moment of the series happens in this episode. When Buffy tells Giles about everything that's been going on since he left, and he looks at her very seriously, then bursts out laughing. So wholesome, and so Giles.

I don’t if it was previously mentioned in the comments but the line that Spike speaks to the first challenge - “Here we are now . . . Entertain us” is famous line from Nirvana. Marsters admits it was an homage. If you search James Marsters Come as You Are on Google you will find a cover he did of the song 🎵

Later in Season 5 of Angel I found another music Easter egg. When I get that far in your videos I will post. 😎

Can't remember where I saw it, but I think the only reason Dawn wasn't written as Buffy's daughter is because of her age. Buffy is too young to have a teenaged daughter, and having Dawn be a little child wouldn't allow for the more mature scenes (like the conversations she has, going to makeout points with vampire boys, the demon bride thing in OMWF, etc). But I think the intention from the start was for them to have a Mother/Daughter relationship overall.

They probably have someone reading Willow's lines off screen for the scene with the mind control.
