I am very excited for the "spot the pikachu" game :-) First job (aside from baby sitting OF COURSE): working in a movie theater. Just a single-screen theater, not one of the big multiplexes of today. Great job for a high school student - not too hard, lots of downtime to do homework, free snacks. But, I did smell like popcorn all the time. Dream job: idle rich. But if I were already rich and could do anything... honestly, I might want to open MY OWN movie theater. What was that you were saying about how our first jobs affect us? ;-)

Oh my gosh. There's so much there. This is so fun! I have too many thoughts for discord, so here we go. First taxable job was DQ. I didn't hate fast food. I actually loved it. It's flexible, there's usually music, yeah, my uniform smells, but I don't after a shower. lol. I actually have my old uniform still and after 10+ years it still smells like fry oil. Bleh. There is a difference though, because if you only work on the chill side of a DQ you don't really smell, although we never used the mixer cover, so you got coated in ice cream. Whereas if you work somewhere with a flat top grill + fryers you get coated in ALL the oil and that's just, unpleasant, the guy with describing it to Buffy did a pretty decent job! Although, thankfully I didn't need a special ear cleaning kit! :P But DQ had the flame broil which was less invasive. I worked a couple of different fast food places. Your reaction to the advertisers and the Double Meat Palace was hilarious! :D Dream job is a ballerina, but that ship has sailed, so an artist of any kind really. I paint, so getting paid for that would be great! I laughed so hard when you said nepobaby!!! Ha ha ha! The shark thing is really interesting! I would like to have the monies, that would be much appreciated in whatever dream job. James, I met him at a comic con and he is literally a hype man, still to this day. He's just so charismatic. I've actually been lucky enough to meet several Buffy/Whedonverse people, but mentioning charisma, Charisma is literally the most beautiful person I've ever seen in real life ever. Eliza who plays faith has the same kind of hype that James has. I love hearing your thoughts to the behind the scenes and I'm really looking forward to the next one! Also, my guess for the giant meat slab? Styrofoam! I also felt really weird watching the panel knowing the accusations. I believe it was a toxic environment and I don't actually support Joss anymore. He may make shows I really love (Dollhouse and Firefly are great and I'm officially recommending them Summer Glau is awesome! And she was the ballerina in Waiting In The Wings on Angel), but dude, IDK. I know that we needed a man to create a female heroine because of our world, but now it just feels condescending AF. I was really interested in how Michelle was talking about Joss, because of what she's specifically spoken up about since. I'm wondering if it hadn't happened yet or what. I can't discuss anymore theories there for fear of spoilage, but I definitely felt uncomfortable. All these years they talked about being a family and how much better it was working there than other shows, and there were things that made me wonder how true that was, but how are we supposed to know any different than we're told? But when certain people spoke up everything just fell into place and made complete sense. I apologize for how long this is!! Too many thoughts!

It was really awkward and uncomfortable to watch that interview with Joss and the cast, and honestly a little depressing. I've seen and read several interviews with him over the years and he always seemed humble and self-deprecating and well, likable. I believed the hype that working with him was a dream job- although even then I knew SMG was burned out and wanted to move on. But the other issues of course I had no idea. I am glad that things are now out in the open but the fan in me is a bit heartbroken that this has become Whedon's legacy. It is fascinating that he created a show about facing and fighting one's demons and yet he never faced and conquered demons of his own. My first job was as a gift wrapper at Bullock's department store (yup, the same store "Flashback Buffy" mentioned she shoplifted a lipstick from in 2x21 "Becoming Part 1"). My dream job was to be a clothing designer, which I was lucky enough to realize and did it for 20 years. It was very hard work but very rewarding and included a lot of travel, which I loved.
