"Cruel Intentions" is _very_ scary. ;) ... No, not really. It's certainly contrasty to Buffy. But I'm sure a reaction to it would be appreciated.

Watching the SMG interview was really interesting. You can tell that growing up all she has ever wanted to be was an Actor with a capital A and also a movie star. I dont think she had any intention of being on a TV show for 7 years. Alyson Hannigan said on Watch What Happens Live that Sarah was ready to leave Buffy by like season 2 or 3 wishing that she could do only movies. And the show only ended after season 7 because Sarah had decided that she was done with the show. Then for years after it ended Sarah seemed to not want to be known as Buffy seemingly out of fear of being type casted or known mostly for that role only. So she really distanced herself from the show and tried to move on. Only recently has she come back around and embraced the cult fandom around the show and seems to now be comfortable with Buffy's role in pop culture. There even seemed to be years where her and Alysson were kind of feuding if you believe the rumors. But they seem to have reconciled in recent years which is great.

A bunch of years ago someone posted a lot of raw footage of season 6 to YouTube and people have made blooper compilations from that! The blooper footage from the DVD is so short and only from like 2 episodes.

I wasn't even listening to you at the beginning because I was too busy looking in the background for Pikachu 😆 You haven't seen Twister, Speed, Cruel Intentions or I Know What You Did Last Summer? We need to rectify this immediately.

Yay, Spot the Pikachu has begun! Let's goooo...! (I see him)! This was so fun to watch with you, Darcie. Thank you for doing this! A few comments on the SMG interview: Columbine was a huge deal at the time. Even 3-4 weeks after, there were multiple stories running in papers and magazines about the shooters, about the victims, etc. It's a little stunning and sad to see how the onslaught of media and the increase in school shootings over the years has jaded us all and changed our perspective on these things. Although "Earshot" was ultimately not about a shooter and did have profound things to say about the high school experience and the pain of human experience in general, I agree that it was the right decision not to air that episode at the time. For those who didn't watch the show back then, just the promotional ads for that ep would have been upsetting and disturbing at the time. For better or worse, I watched All My Children regularly in my teens. Not sure if you know, but it was a (sad) running joke at the time that Susan Lucci was nominated every year for a Daytime Emmy for her role as Erica Kane and had never won. So when SMG was nominated and won at 18 years old- for playing Erica's daughter, no less- it was surprising and sort of embarrassing for Lucci. The TV press made a big deal about their rivalry at the time. I would love to watch you react to Cruel Intentions. It is not "scary" per se, but it is not for the faint of heart either. Its sexuality is over-the-top and very much a product of its time. Un-PC to say the least. But it is notable that it was an answer to all the sweet, lighthearted teenage romance movies at the time (She's All That, 10 Things I Hate About You, Never Been Kissed). It was the updated, teenage version of the 1988 film Dangerous Liasons (which was in turn based on a French 18th c. novel). There was some tension between Whedon and Gellar at the time it came out because Whedon described it as "a porny" in an interview and SMG was not ok with that at all. She demanded he apologize in a subsequent interview. It was clear he did not approve of her choosing to do that film during her hiatus from Buffy. It was recently revealed that both Natasha Lyonne and Katie Holmes were considered for the role of Buffy. I believe Lyonne turned it down because she didn't want to be tied to a TV series. And Holmes eventually went on to Dawson's Creek, another WB series. Lyonne is a fantastic actress and I could actually see her as Buffy, though it would have been such a different portrayal I think. That said, I love SMG and her interpretation of the role and am so happy in the end she got the part. Onto Season 7! I can't believe it's here... Enjoy it and drag it out as long as you can, Darce, I'm here for it!

Cruel Intentions is definitely not scary. It's a pretty decent movie and I think it would make a fun reaction - aided not in small part by a brilliant cast and a great soundtrack.

"I'm excited because I know what's in store..." Now you know what its like for all of us to watch you! lol. Regarding actors doubting their shows: Patrick Stewart got that same "you'll get a job next year" line when he auditioned for Captain Picard in Star Trek the Next Generation and he's been playing the character for almost 40 years now. I think these Hollywood types are just bad at guessing what will be a hit.

GWORL. You are *not ready* for what you’re about to experience with Cruel Intentions (which there’s now a 90’s jukebox musical adaptation of too, btw)

Sarah Michelle Gellar and I are about the same age (I'm 6 months older than her), and I remember watching Girl Talk. I loved that show, and was so sad it was cancelled! You can find a few episodes on Youtube if you want to watch it! :)
