Once again, Buffy's speech at the end of this episode is just... fucking iconic. She always has these amazing monologues, but something about this one just HITS!

Yes, the pink haired Slayer would have been so fun to watch. That slayer makes me think of the show Alias every time I watch that episode.

Also... with that being said, with Buffy winding down, are we thinking of new shows? Alias would be a GREAT watch along. Bad-ass women doing bad-ass things mixed with heart-wrenching and super relatable drama... kind of the theme of your shows here.

"We can't pretend that this isn't the end, because it is"... I know, Darcie, I took that line exactly the same way and it broke my heart too! But putting that aside... yes, Buffy definitely needs some real sleep. Mama J knows best❤️

The awesomeness of Buffy's speech aside, this is where I start to have issues with season 7. When Buffy first met 'The First' she didn't act like she was coming up against some ancient evil, she snarked at it, and then ran off to save Angel. There was only the briefest of moments where she looked even remotely threatened, or scared, and it's hard to say whether that was because of The First, or because she was scared of losing Angel (again). Now in season 7 she's talking like this thing was terrifying to her, when for 3 whole other seasons I don't remember it even rating a mention besides 1 episode in season 3.

Wanted to mention this as I couldn’t tell whether our host caught it; I didn’t notice it for *years*. Listen to the exchange @24:53 - 25:08 ; it certainly feels to me as though the writers are…having a bit of fun there, yes?

Hate to double post, but something just occurred to me: there’s a moment when Willow’s casting the spell to restore Angel’s soul where she looks up at the ceiling just like she does @14:33. Now I’m wondering (and I may be the last to the party) whether that was the First giving her a nudge so that Angel would have a soul in hell. Thoughts?

Another EPIC Buffy speech!!!
