Seen this a few times, but only just caught the subtle pun @1:17:25; “a suitable replacement” indeed; somewhere, I imagine a writer raising a glass to themselves when they wrote that.

A thumbs up for including the How It Should Have Ended at the end. There should be one for each MCU move. If you are not familiar, you should also check out the Pitch Meeting - I think you will enjoy these too. Again there should be one for each movie. Here is the Pitch Meeting for Iron Man 2: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dQIVGBE2Rn0

Okay. I liked this one better than the first. I enjoy the friendship aspect. Black Widow is bad ass, I haven't really seen much of her in what little I've watched before. The cartoon at the end was hilarious and made very good points! Also, the whole movie I just kept thinking, "Captain Hammer: corporate TOOL!" lol. Okay, okay. I'm getting into these. Much to everyone IRL's surprise. Movie Saturdays. Let's go! :D

Fans were definitely discussing the after credits stinger when this came out. Remember though, this was before the general public really had bought into what the MCU would become, because there hadn't been anything quite like it before. The upcoming schedule of future MCU films was a lot less prominent in most peoples minds.

It's fascinating that Mickey Rourke and Robert Downey Jr. both had acting careers that nearly fell apart because of other things in their lives and they got to star alongside each other here after coming back - kind of a beautiful symmetry.

If you had a good time with Iron Man 2, you're definitely in for a treat, because IMHO, it's the worst the MCU gets for a REALLY long time. It's pretty much uphill from here.
