Thor 1 is an under appreciated gem. I will die on that hill. The Asgard parts are Shakespearean and the fish out of water humour on the earth side is great.

Darcy is by far my favorite non-love interest side character. She doesn't have a lot of backstory so fanfic writers went nuts with her for a long time trying to make her fit into the larger MCU in a way that made sense back in the wild west that was fandom in 2012. My favorite is the sheer number of folks who decided that she was Tony's illegitimate daughter.

It looked as though you were surprised about Thor == Thursday? If so, FYI we get Wednesday from Wotan, which is just another name for Odin and Friday from Frigga (Odin's wife and, in the MCU, Thor's mother). Tuesday's origin is also Norse, but I don't recall the specifics offhand. Those Norse legends do linger on, don't they?

FUN FACT: The guy in the pickup truck who first finds Mjolnir in the crater is played by J. Michael Straczynski, one of the greatest science fiction writers of the past 30+ years, who did a run on the Thor comics and has a joint story credit for the film.

Kat Dennings! Yes! I love her. I watched (Potential Spoiler Show), so I knew she was in the MCU, but I didn't expect to see her today! YAY! Also, yes, I'm several weeks (months, whatever) behind, I'm not much of a movie girlie. It did take me two separate days to finish watching this one. lol. I really enjoyed this one! I'm not much for superheros either, and given the fact that too many females I know only watched Thor because of how "hot" he is, made me SUPER resistant to watching it, but it's really good! It has so much substance. I prefer plot with emotional focus though, which is why Hulk was another one I really enjoyed. Definitely excited to watch more!
