Recently, Kitten and I have more and more been inviting photographers or videographers to come capture our practice. We've been framing this as having a "voyeur" in the room, as opposed to creating a curated shoot, with the goal of keeping as much authenticity as possible. This can be challenging! We both love to be witnessed, and its hard not to let another presence in the room effect our energy.

This video in particular felt somewhere in between authentic and curated-- we knew we wanted the finished product to be a cut down "reel", as opposed to a front to back session video. I found that this actually helped me find some ease within the tie-- I knew any fumbles or awkwards or missteps could be cut out of the final video. I think this made me able to tie in a way more "actually how I tie" way, as opposed to feeling like I had to perform as perfectly as possible as long as the camera was pointed at us.

So! Here is the edited video from said recent studio session. We're looking forward to creating more ✨content✨ similar to this (aka recording our ties with more than just my phone) more and more.
