kitten and i's debut act at red pavilion: "MILK"

i've written about this before: the hardest rope performances to make are the shortest ones. producers want dynamic and dramatic acts. they want aerial, they want burlesque, but !bondage! unfortunately... rope isn't exactly meant to come in that format. and to smush it into that is challenging (not to mention high risk, but thats another post for another time).

a typical 20-45 minute performance for me is almost completely improvised. it's a well negotiated scene, with a few stylized elements. i think this helps keep authenticity and helps tone down any accidental corniness. this was the opposite! it was choreographed to a T and rehearsed, rehearsed, rehearsed. to be fair, we weren't exactly trying to avoid the corniness in this one.

we had an absolute BLAST on stage here, and can't wait to perfect it even more.
