EDIT: Hello book clubbers. Just letting you know the stream is moving a few hours back. It is now this Saturday at 5pm EST! I need to be across town from 12-2pm in order to pick up some lemonades for next week's charity stream.

It's time for Manga Book Club again! This time we're reading Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou, a short series about a robot living an everyday life in a soft post-apocalyptic world at the twilight of humanity. It focuses on the beauty and appreciation of everyday life.

We'll be meeting on Saturday June 14th at 5pm EST.

Don't miss it!

Folkloric

Is there a good place to read this or should I start digging?

PrettiestBeardedLady

I don't think I've inhaled a manga that fast before, damn. If anyone is having a hard time finding it the Internet Archive has you covered

PurpleIsDebeste

okay just finished the deluxe edition, which has the first 3.4-ish volumes, and yup, this is Really Really good!

I feel bad because i had so many thoughts about the older book clubs, but i only started watching them recently, and now that we've gotten to Kamui and Yokohama I'm just very no thoughts head empty on them, so I can't really contribute anything.

Like so many thoughts about One Piece and my sheer rage towards Oda, and then i read Golden Kamui and i can't add anything. (Though editing a historical fiction set in a culture i have no personal connection to is a lot harder than a fantastical pirate pulp adventure) But like, so many ideas about One Piece and Pokemon that make be so angry that no author bothered to attenpt or consider... Instead i have to read about Carrot and Rob Lucci... :(

PurpleIsDebeste

wow i sure hope the end of volume 4 isnt the last time this manga threatens to be interesting in the whole series uh oh
