James and Maria in 80's style!

I was listening to Neon World by New Electric Waves while I was drawing. Highly recommend, itโ€™s such a great track!

Thank you! I haven't drawn Maria for a long time ๐Ÿ˜ธ

But she looks absolutely fabulous! I think I'm gonna use this as my phone wallpaper <3

I love this! Great concept. The way you manage to draw fabric so naturally - the creases, how it hugs contours - is so impressive, and your design style for Maria is A+ as always. The way she looks at James is so expressive, just from her eyes and that simple small smile - like she clearly adores him, but doesn't want to make it seem *too* over-the-top. Also, would 100% watch, please become a director, lol. All they need is for James to trade in that old Pontiac for a slightly newer, snazzier car to make it peak 80s ๐Ÿ˜† (Fun fact: I walked past the site of a old factory that manufactured those old '77 Pontiac Venturas a couple weeks ago and boy, would you believe how completely and utterly disinterested the person I was with was when I mentioned that was James's car ๐Ÿ˜‚) (And thanks for the song rec! I love me some synthwave. It's not quite the same, but my fave synthwave track that I sometimes put on repeat in the background while I work is Street Dancing by Timecrawler 82... which I discovered on Shodan weirdly enough, haha. Would definitely recommend.)

Oh, thank you for the comment! I absolutely love them! Youโ€™re always so attentive to detail โ€” it really makes me feel all the effort I put in is worth it, haha! As for the carโ€ฆ gosh, Iโ€™d love to see Jamesโ€™s car in real life. I honestly think cars used to look way more interesting in shape, nowadays they all seem kind of the same. About the music, I always try to fully immerse myself in the atmosphere, so I picked that particular track to listen to while working. I spent quite a while studying 80โ€™s posters to make this one look as close as possible (though I accidentally drew it in the 60โ€™s style at first ๐Ÿ˜…) Iโ€™ll definitely check out your track, I could really use something for background listening!

This is neat๐Ÿ‘ŒI love the 80s vaporwave aesthetic A LOT. If you have any music recommendations I'd love for you to shareโค๏ธโค๏ธ

Ecclesia Feriae

Well, I usually listen to different music. I can say what I've been listening to lately ๐Ÿ˜ธ

waltuh_blanc

Yes! I will listen to anything. You can share if you'd like ๐Ÿ‘

Ecclesia Feriae

Oh! Sure!!! Let me know if those songs will make you feel something ๐Ÿ’“ 1. Monster by Colours (I love male vocals and at 2:46 I can literally hear the motif from Yamaoka's Silent Hill 2 soundtrack) 2. Closer / Still / Scars by Dionnysuss (A low male voice gives me goosebumps) 3. O come o come Emmanuel by Tommee Profitt (Sometimes i like biblical motifs)

waltuh_blanc

Thank you!! I shall give them a listen ๐Ÿ‘ I'll let you know how I like them

waltuh_blanc

Damn! These songs HIT! and I really, really loved o come o come Emmanuel in particular. What a beautiful choir... Thank you so much for sharing! ๐Ÿคฉ

The details are the best part! And if I'm sitting there enjoying a piece that an artist puts that kind of effort into, I feel it's just fair to share what I notice and enjoy (if I were posting art I put so much time and effort into, I know I'd want the same) - plus I just like finding those little things that make a work special ๐Ÿ˜Š So many retro things are back in - blended together too - I'd think that would be an easy thing to do accidentally. And seeing them in 60s-style would be pretty cool too, honestly ๐Ÿ˜ (And my bad, I realized I worded that weirdly - unfortunately I didn't see the car, just the fenced off old concrete where the factory used to stand. I don't recall ever seeing that car in real life... but since as you mentioned, cars are very same-y, I don't spend a lot of time looking at them in the street [unless it's like a really nice brand new Mercedes or something, ha]. I feel like I've spent enough time seeing James's car that I'd recognize it if I saw it though, it's just such a specific make and model [and color] that I doubt too many people still have them (at least to drive around... I've occasionally seen older, but a nearly 50 year old Pontiac wouldn't be my first choice to drive around either even if I drove ๐Ÿ˜…)
