This lesson is a special, one-off lesson about form. I made it specifically for beginners since form (roundness) can be such a challenging subject.

Watch this video and you will learn how to start with a simple form, like a cube, and evolve that simple form into a more complex one- like a head.

Trust me- this is going to unpack a bunch of stuff that will help you draw way better 😅

For this lesson, you'll need the following materials:

  • Graphite pencils, ranging from 2H to 2B
  • Paper—options include white, off-white, or pearl grey, preferably Stonehenge or Canson mi-teintes
  • Kneaded erasers
  • Paper stumps in a variety of sizes

Nothing but gratitude for your videos. You always find new ways to teach us how to draw the head. So much love for you as a teacher. Thank you!

So useful, and so much fun! I am just returning to drawing and painting after many years away, and feared I’d completely lost such skills as I had learned. Drawing along with this video boosted my confidence that I’ll be able to build new skills and paint the way I want to. Onward! And thanks!
