What a real shrimp, plate of shrimp moment. I just listened to this ep last night - this is where I'm up to in my re-listen. Bizarre!

Ryan Fahey

Time might move forward for the rest of us but Dean is immortal!

Daniel Morgan

I was all on board for re-listening to tales of Dean again even though it feels like this one just came out. Then you went and mentioned this episode was 10 years old and ruined my evening.

Robert Curtin

Are we ever getting "I LOVE DEAN" T-shirts? I can't wait to smugly lord my superiority over people about an absolutely non-sensical inside joke they have to listen to 250 some-odd episodes to understand. Or I can use it for good and have it be an advertisement for the show. Either way, I LOVE DEAN!

Alan Ricks

Great idea bringing attention to these classics!

Drix

Really like the idea of pushing some of the classics out intermittently

Ann Knight

Have we really had TEN YEARS of "I love Dean!" already?! Tempus fugit indeed.

In another universe this was the episode we finally got the Lackey heel turn, He had enough of Pfiffers jokes and went full Supervillain of hp podcraft! -THE LACKEY, he’s nobodies lackey!!- Also there is no way it’s been 10 years since dean. I think it’s time. !HP Podcasts Celebrity Death Match! Dean Vs Dandelo A true battle of the ages

Wow this episode had so much. The prediction nearly a decade early of strange studies of strange stories . And at how excited yall were to read wuthering heights! lol

THIS SHOW IS FIT FOR DEAN!

Definitely a blast from the past. Especially so for 2015. I graduated High School that year. Realizing while listening to this episode that THIS YEAR will mark 10 years from when I graduated high school. I’m only 28 turning 29 in April. I don’t feel my age but I also feel so much older than that.

Derek Scott

We need to highlight Heather for having one of the all-time greatest laughs I’ve ever heard. My wife has a friend named Amanda whose laugh is similarly infectious and joyful. People with top-level laughing abilities are not celebrated enough. Also: I LOVE DEAN!

All the Jazzing and Flapping…😂

Dude! The origin story for Dean! Yes!

I’m really enjoying the classic episodes. I will re-listen to an oldie (sorry) occasionally, but the problem is always: which one to choose? I prefer it when you guys choose for me! It’s like the tv we olds grew up with— you watched whichever Twilight Zone or OG Star Trek came on, free from the stress of choosing from hundreds of episodes. And you were right— “The Man from Time” made for a really fun discussion. I might not have chosen that particular story to revisit, but I gained a new appreciation for it based on your post-recap evaluation of the value of its positive message. Plus, I’d love to see a cinematic version of that gold lamé short-shorts wearing FutureMan opening the time hatch & tumbling into the timestream. Of course, the big draw of this episode is DEAN!!!! Definitely one of your greatest classic moments. I’ve been watching “Alfred Hitchcock Presents” on Freevee, a “free” streamer (with Prime) that plays reruns on a loop— no choosing episodes, as I like it— and Norman Lloyd was a producer and sometimes lead actor. And thanks to you, I giggle every time I watch one of his great performances. Looking forward to the next baby-voiced rerun of SSoSS

Since this past summer I relistened to almost every episode yall have done, and there’s quit a few things yall mentioned wanting to cover that haven’t happened, but it’s exciting when the classics do come up.

Great fun! I must have heard this before, as at the time I was listening a bit out of order and I marked the DEAN! origin story, but I don't remember any of the rest of it. How could I forget, for example, the Rocky hot pants? Perhaps I must now wear some of my own as penance. (Don't worry: No pics.)

Our old pal Brendan Gardiner

I came on here to make a joke about Norman Lloyd still being alive, which would make him 110, and maybe starting to look younger for some reason, which would be terrifying! But I looked him up and he lived to be 106! And that’s not really a good enough difference in age for my joke to be at all funny, let alone terrifying. May we all live just long enough to spoil someone’s dumb attempt at humor.

James Anthony

There's actually an explanation for why he's wearing hot pants. There's an articles of interest episode that covers it, but around the time this was written there was this idea that in a utopia there'd be no need for pockets as all your tools would be available at the place you need them. Presumably the author extended the notion to "in a utopia you wouldn't need clothes to protect you from the elements as you'd be in control of those elements"... Or maybe he just liked the image of a buff dude in hot pants.

Oh man I love Dean!

Now to make this episode about me: Fitzgerald lived in an apartment while staying in Baltimore that later became the dorm I lived in as a freshman. It even had a brass plaque that said that.

Camshaft

Oh man, I forgot about the hot pants! For years I’ve been planning to get a pin-up tattoo of Chad in gold lamé hot pants, bat wings, and roller skates to cover my top-surgery scars, and that was the element I left out of my out-of-the-blue Bluesky request…. Still into it? 😅
