The Lactantius reference is from Episode 34 - The Festival.

This adventure of the mind is from the world of THE COLOSSUS!

Awesome little "actual play" episode. More like this please...

Darren Hennessey

Hey, Moneybags Lackey, how much do we have to raise for Chad's charity of choice to get a Video (or Audio) Actual Play of Chad running a game for you and some of your friends? Maybe a Kickstarter or something? Can we get Andrew Leman as a player?

Ryan Thomas

LACTATION in The Festival??? Oh.

Ryan Thomas

"You may be strong of body and weak of will, or perhaps weak of will and strong of body." That's pretty funny, Fifer, saying the same thing twice. Now, if I were to play this game and, like Lackey, be given the chance to manifest myself into a champion, could I become a treatment resistant, terminal plague? First, I double-check my spelling so I don't accidentally become plaque, and indeed become the plague, before I ask the second question. What could the snake turn into within the imagination of a medieval mind to beat down a treatment resistant, terminal plague?

Eric - Speaker in Digressions

This was a delight, and considerably more philosophical than games I'm in generally get. Only criticism: Needed more robo-zombie horses.

Jason Thompson

Firstly, this was fun, you both have such great voices & improv talent, you should totally do more roleplaying actual plays! Second, “Window,” hellllllll yeahhh! I read that story when I was about 10 and did NOT forget it!

Jason Thompson

(Whoops, commented on the wrong Patreon! I just deleted it 😅)

Jim Cannon

That was fantastic, top to bottom. Structure, outcome, performance, setting. A lot of fun hearing The Enchanter again, I kept expecting him to hit on Lactantius. I am jealous of whatever group gets Chad as a GM on the regular.

First time commenter, long time fan: I loved this concept and have already starting using it as inspiration for a game I'll be playing with my partner. We both have very boring jobs and find things like this help to break the constant monotony. Very well played by the pair of you, please do more things like this in the future!

Hayden Orr

Loved this, I’d be willing to listen to more extra credits of you guys doing these

It's a Ghost.

I have no firsthand experience with role playing games, so I had my doubts whether I'd like this episode, but guess what? I really enjoyed it. Also, I loved the bangin' thews.

Avlin Starfall

I also believe we are all dreams of three fish swimming near the center of the universe.

Innsmouth Gold

I got back into RPGs last year after a long absence (Rolemaster and Kult). Really enjoyed listening to this episode. I prefer this narrative approach to purely dice rolling to "see what happens." Definitely lots to take away from Chad's method here - did you say you will be publishing something?

Steven Moore

I can honestly say you you’re wasting your talents if you did not produce more of these. How much editing went into this? If very little you guys must continue. Would be more than happy to subscribe to this. Well done!

Kip Barnes

Wow! This was so fantastic. I really want to listen to more of these. If the D&D sessions I played had 1/100 of the quality of this episode, I’d probably still be playing. 2 and done for me I guess. Oh there was also that weird Star Wars RPG Chad and I played where everyone but us was level 1000. That was weird.

Eric S. Vallone, M.D.

I LOVED IT!! Two comments. First of all, Chris is clearly a superior RPGer. His responses were original and unflappable. Secondly, I would PAY to be a staker for a weekly podcast that was Chad’s “Enchanter” character doing an interview-style talk show each week. Chad, you have got serious vocal chops. Get that enchanter some v.o. work. “Hey, WoC, ever think about rebooting TSR’s ‘Morley the Wizard?’”

Michael Packer

I've always wanted to hear a real play CoC session with you and the Historical Society lads. Keep up the great work!

Derek Scott

Just listened to this and loved it! Also, I hear my persistence on the topic of Dennis Etchison has paid off! Can’t wait!

Camshaft

….So, I’m in my 15th year listening to your podcast, and my 4th year of a bachelor’s degree in psychology, and I’d love to design a pilot study to see if this would work as a form of therapeutic treatment for social anxiety in the TTRPG community. Hit me up!

Sweatin' to the Great Oldies

This was absolutely delightful! I love RPGs that encourage players to question (in character) their world. Wrestling with the big questions creates many, many opportunities for wrestling with the big bad.

David Halstead

Love this!!! Please start an actual play podcast!

Steve

Aw man, we only have Chris as GM, could we have Chad too?

Michael-Paul Schallmo

This blew me away. I guess I shouldn't be surprised when you guys make a great show after all these years, but this was pretty special. The mixture of RPGs, psychology, and Buddhism is really unique.
