We're reading reactions to our first month of strange studies!

The mention of Sandman was welcome because I was hoping you gents were checking it out! I've not read the whole run, but this first season covers most of what I have read and I'm a bit shocked by how faithful it truly is. I will say, though, that between casting Boyd Holbrook, making a certain aspect of the Corinthian's character more overt than in the comic, and adding more scenes with him, I was rather disconcerted to realize that the Corinthian...is HOT. And I know I'm not alone—people are out here making Corinthian fan cams! WE KNOW WHAT HE DOES AND WE STILL CAN'T HELP IT.

About the T-shirts designs, what about some with very remarcable frases of these 10 years? Like: "When life gives you draculas you make draculaid" I just realized that of this panel of golden girls i am rose "A atheist an jew get married, so, i dont know, what about a church?" I would wear any of them at my funeral

It's a Ghost.

I would totally wear a t-shirt with Norman Lloyd's face and the words, "I love Dean!"

Rick Hound

I appreciate in a personal level the change in chapter for the podcast. In detail for the fact I get to see and interact something new or within arm’s length of new since when it started I was still in fairly early adolescence, and now that this place has achieved reincarnation (holy or unholy) I hope to see it grow first hand. Further post script—I too felt the post apocalyptic genre got old until reading Fire Punch which deconstructed the genre as well as using frost punk as the apocalypse (including some fantastical elements to further the idea) as well as show how cruel and extendable humans end up being. No one in the end is a hero, just misery and movie fanatics. Anyways I hope you two have a further decade of success on here.

The old quote Chad told way back when Lovecraft talked about being old at 30 or 40 is my favorite and I used to joke about it all the time to a friend who also listened to the podcast. The thing Chad said was: "Getting closer to dying 30s You haven't really died yet 40s This is getting really embarrassing 50s Jesus, will you just die already 60s"

Robert Curtin

Like another commenter beat me to, an, "I Love Dean!" T-shirt would be glorious.

Jennifer DeFord

I can't even remember which mad-scientist story it was (maybe "And the Dead Spake"?), but I'd nominate "Stop making chickenboys" for a T-shirt. I'd also like Lyin' Vincent Price and "March Is for Draculas."

Mandy Reznor (She/It)

A "March is for Draculas" shirt is a good idea, as well as shirts for any other reoccuring theme months. Blochtober with the Faceless God peering across the desert, Thew-ly with Conan all baby oiled up and swinging, etc.

Alright, here's too many merch ideas: I love Dean shirt Lair of the White Worm Shirt, preferably with a rendition of your/our collective suffering on it Manimal shirt Ghost of a Werewolf shirt Matt Burriesci fighting some dogs on a shirt A stoked shirt Chris Mackey shirt Dracula cooking up some chicken shirt

Jeppe Mulich

Pitch Black Manor gig! Come to London next, surely playing the Batcave would be the perfect fit (I think it's a burger joint these days, but sure they wouldn't mind).

Forrest Rush

My merch idea is an ancient call back. Chad describing the Cat Who May Not Be Named as "Voguing on a mountain of skulls." (Re-edit after checking).

Forrest Rush

A bonus ep idea (Are they still called that now after the rebranding?), season 1 of True Crime. During my covid layup, I finally got a round to watching it. I think you mentioned it in one of your discussion eps, but am unsure if you had seen it or had just heard that it was the L word. It certainly sounds as if you've got lots of great stuff lined up, but was wondering if this might still be appropriate.

Derek Scott

I’d really love for you guys to explore Dennis Etchison. Etchison is one of the greatest moderns horror/weird/supernatural fiction writers. Etch-tober would be literally brimming with incredible material.

David Smith

Long time listener since the hound. t shirt idea!!!! I LOVE DEAN!!!!!

ChiveOnOCM

Where will the merch be available for purchase?

HRPrice

Oh, you know you need some sort of cats-leaping-to-the-moon shirt! Fill that super-cute niche!

Saint Fu

I don’t think anyone’s ever called me a son of a bitch before. (From the accent, I’m guessing that it was a quote from a Schwarzenegger movie?)

CarcharodonMegs

The shirt idea that was mentioned (horror daddies)....an immediate "TAKE MA MONEY'. I would also like to suggest a shirt based on the pigeon scare/dropping the beverage story from way back in the podcast. And, of course, as always, anything Baywatch Nights themed without getting into legal trouble. :D

Levi Krain

Well we might need a Bat Nut and Devil Pod superhero duo shirt or coffee mug.

NoSignal

Congrats and thanks for keeping the show alive and screaming. It somehow just keeps getting better. Shirt ideas: Ghost of a Werewolf Tentacles for tolerance “It’s for you” hand holding out a tentacle shaped phone (or tentacle holding out headphones) Lehman’s Lackeys Authors standing around Lovecraft’s grave (reminiscent of the Mel Blanc “Speechless” poster) Ferocious Fifer’s Frothing Frightmare A belt labeled “Johnny”

Jeremy Impson

On the subject of Art. I feel like too many people (like perhaps Chris) confuse the question "What is Art?" with "What is good Art?". Art is literally anything produced with intention. It ranges making practical things like chairs to making entertainment like music to making a mess like Pollock. Don't gatekeep Art. That said, feel free to think about and debate what makes good Art. Obviously it's subjective, but lots of interesting things can be determined about the artist, about society, and about yourself by contemplating why certain works please or displease you.

Andrew Brown

Still waiting for a "Sector General" story from James White. It's totally not typical but such great stories.

Z.A. Kahan

“I do believe it’s Poe-Vember!”

Adequately Excellent Entertainment

I’m glad to hear that I will soon be able to sport a Horror Daddies sticker on the coffee tumbler I got from a company event to differentiate it from everybody else’s work branded swag coffee tumbler. Hurry up and get that Red Bubble up, otherwise it’s gonna be Doctor Strange’s basketball or Mari Llywd in the style of My Little Pony.

Joel Cuthbert

Please do some swag with Chad’s “I’m so frightened!” on it.

Runninghead

"Fighting water!" could be a good t-shirt, or "A little mummy for your tummy" or maybe Tedesco catching a pigeon in his mouth! 😂

Pearce Duncan

“She died in 1980, that’s more like 30 years ago.” I wish 1980 was that recent because then I’d be a lot younger.

LUNCHBOX

Given the number of monthly themes, let’s just cut to the chase and have a monthly shirt/swag subscription already :) I also wouldn’t object to a Strange Studies of Spicy Stories robe.

Heath Anderson

I’m way late on this (in my defense I’ve had multiple surgeries dealing with brain tumors lol) but you definitely need a CTHULHU RULES shirt that lists his rules (no loud music after 10pm, dirty dishes left in the common area, etc)
