IM TELLING YOU, THE ARMY IS SUCH A PLOT HOLE. WHY ARE THERE SO MANY From what I read, about 2 months has passed from Danys death to Bran becoming king. I think Dany sees anyone who doesn’t follow her as someone who needs to be “liberated”. She thinks that she should rightfully rule over everyone and that if she does, everyone will be better for it. LOOK AT HER EYES DURING HER SPEECH. SHES CRAZY. She smiled proudly in the throne room after killing all those innocent people! Drogon burning the throne was epic. To me, i think that was also the wheel that needs to be broken. Everyone was fighting over the throne and the fact that drogon was intelligent enough to understand it was an issue is awesome. I think she ended up going to Old Valyria. He took his mom home 😭😭 This ending is just 🫠🫠🫠😐. I can’t wait for you to start house of the dragon (whenever that is). I personally like HoTD more than GoT. I think you’ll really like it. There are some really good dynamic through the two seasons.

i never imagined when you started GOT that we'd be finishing it within a year lmaoo. if you do watch HoTD, it'll be my first watch too! i didn't hate this ending as much as some people do. i don't really have any problems with what happened, i just wish the journey there could have been wayyy more fleshed out.

I love that they put the name of the book in the show “A Song of Ice and Fire”. lol Syrio died fighting those kings guards. All he had was a broken wooden sword. That’s another reason why Arya killed that guy in the brothel

There are different castles along the wall. The part of the wall that fell down was at East Watch by the sea. The grass growing shows that winter is officially over, now that the whites are gone

LOL neither did I to be completely honest. I also wish it could've been more fleshed out. Keeping up the 10 eps per season could have helped a lot

a2r

Nooooo rip Syrio :( Oh damn, it was like Drogon saying all this for this damn throne? smh

I wonder if they would've survived if they hid inside one of the dragon skulls. If they had survived though, what would they do? Just wait until Dany finds them? It's really nice of the unsullied to give Jon and Tyrion some privacy to discuss the murder of their queen 🥺🥺 I don't remember exactly when it was, maybe when they brought Jon back when he first ran away from the watch to help Robb. It was Maester Aemon talking about why they make them renounce all titles and swear off women. "What is honor compared to a woman's love? What is duty against the feel of a newborn son in your arms?" The only thing I can think of for why Jon is acting like this....maybe it's regret with Ygritte? He chose duty that time and it got him and his love killed. Maybe he's realized duty is not all that. Damn it's taken Dany a long ass time to get to that throne. Jon has time to conspire with Tyrion and she still hasn't sat down It's so funny to me that Jon could've literally kicked the blood off the snow and been like "yeah man idk what happened, Dany got mad, she burned the iron throne and said fuck this and dipped! Guess we'll wait for her to come back" but no, he probably went and told them exactly what he did and waited for his turn in time out like the mini Ned he is Okay I gotta get ready for work, I'll be back at night to finish the episode 😭😭

Im so so soooo excited for House of the Dragon now T_T

First and foremost absolute congratulations for making it through your first watch of GOT!🎉🎉🎉 You really championed your way through such emotional roller coasters over the last 9 months that's a crazy binge! Another vivid memory time associated with this show is the day of this finale. I had traveled with friends from Toronto to NYC for a BTS concert at Citi Field. We knew the concert was the same day as the finale so we were doubly hyped and after the (amazing) show. We booked it back to our airbnb and jumped into it. Now I will not lie someone definitely did leave the room in the last 10 minutes or so due to anger 🤣🤣🤣 Another props to you for still being able to go through this season and find the good in it even though there were lots of obvious problems. that must have been hard since anybody who's watching the show now has probably heard that the last season isn't it or that it's not worth watching the show at all because the ending is bad. It has got to be one of the most divisive final seasons and final episodes of all time. So much so that there was a petition (which I want to say actually got at least a million signatures) requesting that they redo the entire final season. Obviously that did not happen. I've seen some opinions soften over the years but I would say that most fans remained disappointed just because of how strong the early seasons of the show are compared to the final ones. Truly I would say the biggest things were: the rushing and losing the source material. The original plan for game of thrones was 10 seasons and I think the show deserved its full run. Even if all the exact same events happened The writing could have fleshed to them out for the audience and a proper way. The original author of the book said he felt pushed out creatively in the latter seasons of the show whereas he was heavily involved in the first ones. Now in the latter seasons it does seem that he gave them an "outline" for how the rest of the book series was supposed to go. The books were so long and full of detail and included plot lines that the show doesn't even touch though so I will forever remain curious on how things would have been portrayed differently if the full source material was available. All that aside, I do think this deserves the title of being one of the greatest TV shows of all time. This is my first time fully re-watching it end to end and there were so many moments that were just as amazing as watching them the first time. Re: your question around her speech it really has no connection to Daenerys's original mission and plan. It's just a show of how absolute power corrupts absolutely. She's cracked at this point and every tyrant thinks that they are liberating the world and that they are the only true person fit to rule. If you track her story end to end it's really quite a sad one. Poor Drogon, it makes me so sad to think of him just being the last dragon. I do think him melting the throne and almost acknowledging that that is the thing that killed his mother, not Jon is pretty cool. Your face the king selection scene was killing me because what the hell was truly happening. At that point I think they gave up and were like let's wrap this shit up. I took that bit of greenery beyond the wall to mean that with the night King and the White walkers destroyed that might have been why the North was so cold and desolate. Maybe the landscape will heal and change without their magic corrupting everything. It's just a personal theory though. I guess the ultimate point is winter is over. I don't think Jon has any problem with being sent to the north though. I think he's exactly where he ultimately wants to be. A song of ice and fire is the name of the book series but the series has not been completed the last book came out 14 years ago so we've only actually made it up to the point of around season 5.

Certainly happy to watch HOTD with you but I wouldn't be surprised if you want to take a break in between. I actually think it's not a bad idea since as good as that show is part of the excitement around it was a few years had gone by between the end of GOT and the beginning of HOTD airing and so you had a chance to really miss that world.

Daniela V.

I've never noticed that piece of green grass before but I think you're right. Imagine how beautiful the north will be with some greenery? Also big agree, I'm glad Anthony was able to find some positives in this season despite how much it was hated. Gives me hope that maybe one day I can be okay with it too.

Daniela V.

Jon looks like he gives the BEST hugs I went on about this in Caitlin's comment section but this fucking SUCKS. Jon got done so dirty, he got the worst fucking ending in terms of what Westeros gave him. He killed his lover because of what she did to a whole fucking city, for the REALM because he knew people wouldn't be safe with Dany as the queen. He saved so many people by bringing the free folk past the wall, by gathering houses together, etc. to kill the night king and the white walkers. AND WHAT DOES HE FUCKING GET???? COLD ICY PRISON FOR LIFE??? fuck that shit. I'm so glad he got to be free from all that bullshit in the north. I wonder if any of the citizens of king landing ever got to tell him fucking thank you. SOMETHING to let him know he did the right thing. This is fucking bullshit. If Tyrion wasn't a dwarf he would 100% have been mentioned. From his kidnapping being part of the reason the war of five kings started, to being hand to Joff, the Battle of the Blackwater, being accused of Joffs murder, killing Tywin, being hand of Dany, conspiring to kill Dany, being the one to nominate Bran and the idea of voting to Westeros, being hand to Bran. It's so fucked up that the writers basically hammer in the lesson that no matter what you accomplish in life, being disabled in a visible manner gets you erased and swept under the rug from history. For what? A joke? Is that what that was supposed to be? No seriously why do they keep calling Bran that. Is it supposed to be funny?? Also sad that Sansa had to lose that side of herself that liked the pretty dresses in order to be seen as strong/worthy of respect. It would've been cool to see her still be into that despite what she's been put through. Low-key I just hate the girlboss-ification all the female characters went through. Danys makes sense cause she grew into a conquerer and decided to play into her big military. Sansa and Cersei felt like too much though in terms of styling. I thought that too but I think it was east watch that got destroyed, the rest of the wall should still be intact Tyrion....I absolutely hate the way his character was handled at the end. I genuinely can't tell you a single thing he did after he escaped Westeros except tell bad dick jokes. He did that negotiation with the slavers to give them a transition period but we don't even know if that worked or not because we never hear about Essos or Daario again. I don't even understand why he's being punished at the end tbh. Makes me sad cause the actor is so damn good. He had a few moments where he got to shine like his final goodbye with Jaime, when he finds them dead, and when Dany makes him hand. Idk I could go scene by scene and describe in detail but I'll stop yapping Dany.....I'm kinda sad Dany died so quickly and then just never got mentioned again. I wish Jon would've held her as she died or something. Thank you for finishing this and for reigniting my love for GOT. Its genuinely become such a big part of my life the past few months, coming home from work and relaxing with an episode, writing out my thoughts and thinking about other scenarios, etc. As much shit as I give it, I love the community that's built up around it and all the comments everyone left. Loved your commentary and how you expressed your thoughts and your reactions. I can't say enough thanks :') as always, I'm excited for what you have to show us next

avocadoetarts

what a journey wow! i agree with you, it definitely feels bittersweet. i wish some things could've done differently or ended differently. i also get why a lot of people hate the ending, i mean it was underwhelming. it was rushed, it was wrapped up way too quickly. i think it could've gone for another season tbh. but it's a great show, i do love it! i'm just a bit disappointed but nonetheless, it was def a great show and i get why this is hype by a lot of people. mann it was a rollercoaster ride! i'm glad my first watch to the show is with you ant!! it's nice hearing someone's perspective on things while watching, and being surprised and questioning the events together lol def enjoyed this whole journey!! now, i'm excited to watch HOTD hahah

avocadoetarts

the starks def the main characters of the show hahah hate that they got separated but nice to see them do their own thing and grow. sucks what happen to jon tho, it wasn't his choice but at least he's not alone. so much for being aegon targaryen lmao

Daniela V.

Right??? It sucks that after all this fucking lifetime of being "a bastard" and probably having all sorts of identity issues behind that he finally finds out who his mother is and who he is and he gets EXILED???? shit got me FUCKED UP

j

ayyeeee finally finished!! i will probably return to this for more thoughts but just know the entire yap sesh you had post-episode had me nodding in agreement with you the whole time 😂 this was a super fun watch all the way through! thanks for sticking with it :)
