Dany mentally cracked after Missandei. She didn’t get a chance to process so many a personal deaths (missandei, her two dragons, jorah) because of the war. This definitely caused her mentality to weaken, just like what happened with the mad king. Varys saw the “warning signs” with the mad king and how paranoia took over him. That’s what I think is happening to Dany too. She saw Jon “betray her” and the north not 100% with her, Varys betraying her, Tyrion constantly trying to save his family despite the things they did to her. Varys was really the only person brave enough to speak against her and try to prevent this ticking time bomb. I also think she wanted people to fight back so she had more of a reason to burn them because it seemed like she got pissed that they were giving up.

The thing about Dany not having love, She was so good in essos and people loved her , I think a huge part of it was the speeches she gave about giving back freedom and hope to the slave. Yet that never happens when she gets to Westeros. In Westeros, she wanted to dominate the people, rule with an iron fist rather than before with a sense of peace or humanity. Also not to mention Cersei had the upper hand with propaganda against Dany. She made the common folk fear a “foreign invader” bring a hoard of “savages”

And don’t get me wrong. I don’t think Cersei deserves mercy after everything she did. In the end, she didn’t move all those common folk into the red keep to save them, it was to at least prevent Dany from attacking the red keep with all those innocent people. She used them as shields. Those people “hate” Dany because of the propaganda Cersei campaigned against her. The common folk only follow the leader who will allow them to more time to live.

Jaime and Cersei, came into the world together, leaving the world together. How poetic

It's so weird to me that Jon is just cool with Dany possibly burning a whole city down if she wants to. After everything he's been through and done to do the right thing. TYRION THATS YOUR BEST FRIEND. THAT MAN SAVED YOUR LIFE AND GOT YOU OUT OF KINGS LANDING I like the dark room Dany tbh. She feels like a real person right then and there. The messy hair, the watery eyes, the anger, I almost wished they had kept her this way until the end. With Missandei gone who is braiding her hair, who is helping maintain her sanity? I never thought about that but you're right, Varys wasn't the only one conspiring. He's just the only one who "doesn't matter" in her eyes. She wouldn't kill Sansa or Arya cause then she'd have Jon against her. She's won't do anything to Jon cause that'll fuel his right to the throne and anger the north. Tyrion told her the truth so I guess she'll keep him. I wish we had gotten a hug or something from Dany and Grey Worm. Or them dealing with Missandei's death together. #DicksOutForTheSevenKingdoms He doesn't even need to have sex with her!!! Bro give her a hug, cuddle with her, play with her hair, reassure her, tell her everything is going to be okay, let her cry in your arms DO SOMETHING JON Qyburn is a real one not gonna lie. He's so gentle with Cersei it's kind of nice to watch??? I feel like he gave her everything she needed from a dad Ew they gotta stop showing the Mountain up close I can't with Cerseis little Justin Bieber bowl cut. They could've gotten her a better wig smh. I don't know how to feel about Jaimes ending. I hate that he went back to her after everything she's said to him but at the same time....that is his sister and "love of his life" I can see why it would be so hard to leave her to die by herself. That sequence with Arya kinda pisses me off ngl. I feel like it's just rubbing the plot armor in our faces cause ain't no way she's getting out of that without some sort of major injury or death.

So I felt like you misread a little about the Varys secret thing. so yes they knew, she was upset but I don’t think she would’ve killed them. BUT Varys found out and sent letters to the ENTIRE kingdom as a way to kind of discredit and say to rally behind Jon instead which not gonna lie I’d be upset too if you were with me all this time find out that then switch up.

AKAFlores

She lost dragons, army and people and get nothing but disrespectful looks from Sansa and the north which in my opinion was crazy work. Then had her last best friend beheaded right in front of her with her dying words being dragonfire , so yea If I offer a truce etc and instead you do that I’m crashing out. AND ALSO don’t forget Varys could’ve saved Ned when he was locked up and avoided ALOT of what transpired after but instead bro tells him to bend the knee and go to the wall LIKE WHAT!! People seem to forget that

I dunno man, I think (based on the show) Varys is presented as one of the few good characters, acting selflessly in favor of the realm and the mistreated. I think Varys could have very well saved Ned since he knew the ins and outs of KL and whatnot, but he also talked to Ned like "I'm doing what I can to survive myself, and I'd be putting myself at risk if I helped you out". He gave a "I'm here for you" but I gotta keep myself alive to do my greater mission type of feel. I also feel like Ned wouldn't have wanted to escape if given that option either, I feel like he only got in the situation because he wanted to save his fam, and escaping wouldn't have gotten him that. In regards to what he did to Dany, yeah I get it. You surround yourself with people who sought you out, then they switch up. However, she went too far to the side to where they're questioning if her goal/"destiny" is worth the means she's willing to go to because it is at expense of innocence. I think it makes sense of why she went a lil crazy (assumed) or crash out (also makes sense). I do feel like the punishment shouldn't have been just to Varys though, as you can see in the end, Jon and Tyrion even switched after reaching the same conclusion,. Varys just wasn't blinded by love or anything else- the realm was always first even though they outcasted him.

If I had to speculate Varys took the blunt of the blame/punishment because he's the only one whose actual intention was to overthrow her. Jon betrayed her by being to loyal to his family, for Tyrion it seems like he did believe he was telling Varys in good faith so they could protect her but what Varys did was to directly to get Jon on the throne instead of her (and by the end of this noone can act like he was wrong. You really said "after reviewing new facts, I would like to respectfully rescind my vote for Daenerys as ruler of Westeros" Maybe I'll talk more in the final episode about the various criticisms this season faced but chief is among them was the question of whether this was good writing or really poor writing to have a character snap like this for shock factor. I know there were small tidbits throughout the show about the Targaryens being unstable, and you see how much she is grieving, paranoid and angry this whole season but still it's really hard to tell what Daenerys is thinking here. You could argue that this was vengeance of the moment or you can argue that this is everything that's happened to her over the entire show building up to a breaking point. A lot of people were mad that she did this at all because she was a very beloved hero character among the fandom. I wasn't mad at the twist, just thought the execution felt unfinished.
