After 5 months, about 15.000 lines of code, many sleepless nights and many hours questioning if it's really worth it, I'm finally ready.

Tabletop Almanac will be released today and with it HP Tracker 2.0.0 which finally allows users to create and use custom statblocks.

This has been the biggest programming project I've done on my own and it's far from over. I'm planning of continuously releasing further improvements and features. If you are missing something let me know and I'll put on the todo list. Or even better head on over to the discord.

How does it work

It's actually pretty simple. Create an account at tabletop-almanac.com, create your custom statblock (by hand or with the help of an AI), copy the API Key in the Profile tab and paste it into HP Tracker (either in the settings, or where you search for statblocks). Now the custom statblocks will appear in the search result when they match your search query.

What else is new

While the biggest feature, custom statblocks are not the only thing that's new.

Now when activating HP Tracker on a token, I make a guess which statblock you want to assign to this token (simplified: I compare relevant statblocks and look which name is the closest to the token name). You can still chose a different statblock and the Token values will be changed to the new statblock. But that should in 80% of the cases create an even faster workflow for setting up a scene or a battle.

Also I had to reset the default theme used for dddice. Because starting on April 11, community themes are only available for dddice Patreon supporters. But if you got a dddice account you can still add all the community themes you like until April 11 and use them in HP Tracker.

There were also some smaller bug fixes and improvements but they pale compared to what else was happening.

So I hope you'll have fun with the new features Josh
