Custom Statblock Beta (Patreon)
Content
It's finally ready, the Custom Statblock Feature is ready to be used.
First things first: Is it save to use? Yes, absolutly. There are currently only very minor changes in HP-Tracker itself to allow custom statblocks to be loaded, everything else is still the same. So you current games will not be disrupted if you chose to use the Beta.
Second things second: What happens to the custom statblocks after the Beta? They will be available in the production version as well. Nothing needs to be added again
Ok and now:
How does it work
You will need to make an account at https://staging.tabletop-almanac.com. Once the Account is successfully created you are redirect to the Login page where you can login (no account confirmation necessary yet).
Once logged in go to "Statblocks" where you can add either 5e or PF2E creatures. There is a limit of 10 active statblocks and 20 statblocks in total for free accounts. Just message me on Patreon with your tabletop-almanac account name and I will upgrade your accounts.
Now we need the HP Tracke beta client which can be installed via this link: https://hp-tracker-pr-44.onrender.com/manifest.json
Once that is done, click go to your "Profile" where you will see an API KEY. You can create multiple API KEYs, but that doesn't really do anything at the moment. It's here to support Character Sheets where you don't want all you owlbear rooms have access to all you character sheets. But don't worry about it for now.Copy this API KEY and go into Owlbear, open the HP-Tracker settings and paste the API KEY into the "Tabletop Almanac API Key" field. Now all the Statblocks you create will be available via the statblock search function.
You can identify them quickly, because the slug of your Tabletop Almanac account is displayed as "source".
What if there is a problem?
Just message me on discord, github, patreon, where ever, I will fix it asap.
What other importers are planned?
I'm planning to add the JSON and Multi-Statblock importer next. So you can extend your library even faster. The most complex importer is going to be the free-form-text-importer which will probably be ready once the whole feature is finished.
What about Feedback?
There is some stuff I'm not really sure about yet, e.g. what should be on the Dashboard how to properly sort the template statblocks and so on. If you have ideas or suggestions, just let me know. If you think something doesn't make sense as it is now, please tell me, there is always another solution out there.
For Feedback or easier talking I set up a Discord server here: https://discord.gg/d3YCU4rv
Thank you for your support and patience.Josh
