The Boost Ability had proved to be an incredible asset by improving his Tinker abilities further, allowing him to make some very necessary improvements to his space station, enough that he was confident to survive the attention of a Kree Dreadnought for some time and retreat safely.

At least, based on what he was able to pilfer public sources about their general capabilities, which might not be accurate. He certainly had no intention of throwing himself into a direct confrontation, which was why he had focused on building stealth and mobility it offered.

Unfortunately, testing its rapid jumping capabilities caused trouble. He had been away from the solar system for ten hours, and when he jumped back, he met with a very concerning message.

One from a panicked Darcy, explaining that Jane had disappeared.

He didn’t hesitate. The Mad Titan could wait. So could the galactic landscape and his ship refit. He was a possessive man, and someone took one of his girls. He had no intention of letting it stand.

There was no time to waste, so he landed on Pluto and took the gate to Earth, to the nearest base, which was the one near Switzerland. From there, he took a cloaked jet directly to England and arrived at his destination. The whole process took merely ten minutes.

Darcy saw him. Though she was calmer than he expected.

"Michael!" she gasped as she broke away from the cluster of confused officers who took the opportunity to leave, following their confused order.

“Hey, sexy,” he said as he hugged her while she babbled in panic. “What happened?”

“Well, first Jane disappeared for six hours, but the moment she returned, Thor was there as well and took Jane away to Asgard.”

He frowned. It was nowhere near as bad as he had feared, but still concerning. Anyone else, he would have assumed that they were using the opportunity to rekindle the relationship. He certainly would have done so shamelessly.

Not Thor. He was painfully direct, and without a hint of guile. If he took Jane to Asgard, the situation had to be serious.

“Did he explain anything?” he asked. Darcy shook her head. “Why don’t you tell me exactly what happened?”

“Well, we were checking a gravity anomaly when Jane disappeared for five hours. When she returned, Thor appeared, but he didn’t react until someone touched Jane, and she radiated some kind of crimson shockwave, which made Thor panic, and he took her to Asgard.”

He sighed. Thor’s directness was troubling as always.

Worse, he had no way to contact Asgard. Well, no way to do so under his own identity, he corrected himself.

But first, he walked to the gravitational anomaly that took Jane away and tried to analyze it, both with his abilities and with the many sensors he possessed. Unfortunately, it wasn’t as effective as he had expected, because whatever anomaly it was, it was already fading.

However, what little impression he got carried an imprint. It felt like a prison, one where its defenses had been loosened due to an external reason, and recently lost its source of power.

Deeper analysis of the data suggested that, in terms of its qualities, it showed surprising similarities with the way Thor had been moved around. Meaning, they were dealing with another Asgardian mess.

He wasn’t surprised that they dumped it on Earth, assuming it would stay harmless.

“Any findings?” Darcy asked as she walked closer.

“Stop,” he warned. “No approaching carelessly. First rule of dimensional mishaps."

“I didn’t know there were rules to it,” Darcy said. She was not calm, but sarcasm was a coping mechanism for her.

“I’ll email them to you,” he teased back, which calmed her down. He wasn’t as calm as he was implying.

“What are we going to do?” she said.

“Officially, nothing,” he said.

“Officially?” she asked.

He nodded. “I have a few ideas, but those require me to disappear for a while to call in a few favors. Meanwhile, you’ll contact Pepper and tell her to contact with whatever method that might have been left from SHIELD. I don’t expect a problem, but if things get dangerous, use the panic button I left for you.”

She nodded. “Can I come with you?”

He thought about it a little. For all her flighty attitude, Darcy was a surprisingly brave and effective woman, not to mention adaptable. She would do surprisingly well in space, especially since his attention needed to be split.

“You can, but only if you’re willing to be a part of a very complicated and a very classified project, the kind that would reframe your understanding.”

Darcy chuckled. “Like SHIELD?”

“Let’s just say if SHIELD knew, Hydra wouldn’t even register as a real problem in comparison,” he admitted.

“I—“ she started.

“Don’t answer immediately. You have a day until you can decide, and there will be no turning back,” he said.

She paused, thinking. “Will my assistance make it easier to help Jane?” she said.

“Without a doubt,” he responded. He could have lied to her about it, but he didn’t. He didn’t have a problem with lying when necessary, but this moment deserved honesty. Darcy was worried for her friend, just like he was. “But it’ll also mean you’ll disappear for a long while, real undercover work.”

Worse, he wasn’t entirely sure that he could. While he asked Darcy to initiate the situation with Pepper, he knew for a fact that the Avengers didn’t have a way to communicate with Thor while he was in Asgard. It was always Thor who took the initiative to visit, probably checking for emergencies due to Heimdall’s spying ability.

“Fine,” she said. “But I’m going to hate learning what’s going on, right?”

He paused. “Not all of it,” he said, deciding that Darcy would enjoy the prank he had pulled with multiple identities more than anyone else. Also, there wasn’t any risk of her slipping it, since she wouldn’t be on Earth for long.

Frankly, he hadn’t been planning to involve them, but what happened with Jane was a bad reminder. The universe was a dangerous place, and even all the precautions he took weren’t enough when an out-of-context issue triggered, bypassing his tech solutions.

“Fine, I’ll hold you accountable,” she said as she kissed him.

He left her to make the calls while he disappeared. His first trip was to the storage room which had all the Asgardian artifacts that he had taken from SHIELD and Hydra bases, something he had been planning to analyze for a while, but delayed by other things.

But, before he started analyzing, he pulled one of the items that he had been keeping in reserve.

[Archmage Robes]

{Elite Item: Robes worn by an archmage that is suspiciously comfortable. Wearing this robe lets you learn magic much quicker and amplifies the power of the spells you cast.}

He pulled that because he knew Asgard tech wasn’t technology in the way most of the universe defined it. It was a combination of tech and esoteric energies that fell under the umbrella of magic.

Even with Mind Palace and Robes combined, he couldn’t simply decipher magic from the abandoned artifacts, at least not in a reasonable timeline. However, that didn’t mean he couldn’t get better at understanding its impact.

His biggest focus was on understanding the ‘wavelength’ their tech operated on, because he wanted to figure out how to hide from Asgardian detection. Thor had talked about how Heimdall could ‘see’ everything in the nine realms. It was without a doubt an exaggeration, considering how easily Loki had been able to hide himself from their so-called all-seeing eye, but even with all his advantages, it was not an easy task.

Luckily, all he needed was a relatively superficial understanding before his Fortification Tinker could upgrade his concealment systems to avoid Asgard detection, at least enough to sit outside their solar system.

A day wasn’t enough, but it was also all he was willing to sink, because, at the same time, his drone spaceships had traveled to the nearest alien stations to explore the exact coordinates of Asgard and return.

Without Bifrost, he had to take the long way.

He went to find Darcy, who was still in England, alone in their shared apartment. She was sitting in the dark, but she also had a huge luggage packed. “If you say I can’t bring my stuff, we’re going to have a fight,” she said when he entered.

“Don’t worry. We’ll have a lot of utility space in our vehicle,” he said, matching her tone.

“Vehicle. I hope it’s a cool submarine at a minimum. I won’t want a boring underground bunker,” she said.

He let his smile widen. “Believe me, it won’t be boring,” he promised, then let his serious expression settle. “Are you sure you want to commit to it, because from here, there’s no turning back.”

She nodded. “I mean, do I really have any chance to stay away? Look at Jane. We were doing research, then she disappeared. Our government is infected by Nazis, and who knows what else is out there.”

He could see she was determined. “Ready for the biggest surprise of your life?” he asked as he grabbed her hand, and underneath them, created a temporary gate, which glowed beneath them.

“Biggest surprise is a stretch, you know. After everything I have dealt with—“ she started. He teleported them directly to the bridge of his spaceship, looking down on Pluto. “Or not,” she corrected, frozen. “Are we in a spaceship?” she asked.

“No,” he said, and she turned to him, surprised. “Technically, it’s a mobile space station with limited sublight travel capabilities,” he explained.

That made Darcy giggle. “Yes, that’s what needs to be corrected,” she said. She didn’t say anything immediately, just hugged him for a minute while she looked out, enjoying the view of the space in silence. “Now, explain. Is this what Professor Azure did?”

He could have said that, but since they would be traveling together and she would see him tinkering, it would be unnecessary. “Well, that’s also technically true,” he said. “Only one problem. Professor Azure doesn’t exist,” he said.

Her eyes widened. “What the hell?” she asked, shocked.

He laughed at her shock, then explained to her, in brief strokes, why he decided to hide his tech talent, why he created a fake identity, and why he decided to build a space base.

She laughed, like it was the single funniest thing that had ever happened to her. "No." She gasped.

"Yes."

"No, it’s ridiculous. Everyone is trying to find out who Professor Azure is, including SHIELD and Hydra. And he just doesn’t exist?" He nodded. “I have to admit, best prank ever,” she said, her expression split between fascination and amusement. “So, you’re better than Stark when it comes to tech?”

He shook his head. “Not necessarily,” he admitted. “However, I’m not as arrogant as he is, so I don’t think I’m above reverse-engineering other people’s inventions. I don’t have to invent everything on my own, and since I learned of the existence of aliens, I had been searching aggressively. I even found a full alien city in Latin America, which helped a lot,” he said.

“Really?” she said. He was glad that Darcy was easygoing enough, accepting his explanation readily, which then turned to plan. He gave a brief explanation about how he planned to stay hidden. “What I don’t understand is why you’re worried about Asgard? I mean, Thor is a nice guy.”

“Thor is nice, but can you say the same for his father, who raised Loki, and casually exiled Thor? Are you willing to bet Jane’s life on his forbearance?”

She paused, thinking. “Yeah, from what I could gather from Thor, he’s not the warmest guy,” she admitted. “Fine, I see your point,” she said. “Let’s go. We have a sexy scientist to save. We’re ready, right?”

“Yes, but before we start, we have one last thing,” he said.

“What’s that?” she asked.

“Get naked,” he said.

“Is it really that urgent?” she asked. “I mean, not to be one to turn down your amazing attention, but I’m worried about Jane.”

“Unfortunately, wormhole travel is very destructive to living tissue, both physically and mentally, worse than what usual regeneration could handle. And intimacy really helps me to focus my healing,” he said. It was easier to use than Greater Healing Light for hours.

Her eyes widened. “Like how you accidentally regenerated Natasha’s missing organs without even realizing there was a problem,” she said.

“Exactly,” he responded.

Darcy stared at him for a full three seconds, then started laughing, sharp and still a little turned on. “It’s amazing. You don’t want wormholes to turn my brain into scrambled eggs, so you’ll do that by fucking me.”

“Essentially,” he responded, already peeling off his shirt.

She didn’t argue further. She stripped without ceremony; hoodie, jeans, and her heavy-duty bra that barely contained her spectacular chest all piled on the floor. “If Jane asks why I look freshly fucked when we rescue her, you’ll explain,” she said.

“Deal,” he said as he triggered the first jump. The world shifted, and suddenly, they were in another system.

She shivered. “Wow, you weren’t joking,” she said. “This was unpleasant.”

“That’s nothing compared to the buildup,” he said. “Several jumps like that, you’ll be having some very nasty symptoms.

“Then come fix me with your magic dick, mister hidden villain,” she teased.

“Only because the world decided not to leave me alone,” he responded, which was not necessarily true. But, instead of debating, he stepped in, cupped the back of her neck, and kissed her hard.

“I missed you,” Darcy whispered in a much softer tone. “I want to get angry at you neglecting me, but apparently, you were saving the world from Hydra while also preparing for an alien invasion by building a space base, so I’ll give a pass.”

“Thank you, kind lady,” he teased.

“I’m no lady,” she growled with sudden passion. “Maybe you need a reminder, bucko.”

With that, she kissed him hard again, her curvy body pressing tight. Her legs wrapped around him, and he carried her the short distance to the captain’s chair, and sat with her straddling his lap.

As far as stylish moves went, it had been spectacular.

His cock was already thick and ready between them. She reached down, guided him, and sank onto him in one smooth motion, moaning with passion.

Another jump happened right then. Reality folded, stars folding into white streaks, with the universe compressing and snapping back. However, this time no discomfort from Darcy, the damage healed as it occurred, before she could even register it.

He was not joking about Tantric healing. He had other methods, but Tantric Healing was still his best way to heal as long as he had the necessary emotional link. Darcy’s eyes flew wide, watching the shift with fascination while her hips moved. “Talk about a memorable date,” she said as her hips moved up and down.

His hands clamped on her hips, and he thrust up hard, maintaining passion while he also mentally adjusted the pace. The less time between jumps, the greater the damage, but since she could handle it, he prioritized speed.

He even turned on the music, and her hips started following the pace, which was syncronized by the jumps. Her hips moved with each beat, and every eighth beat, the station jumped again.

Combined, it didn’t take long for her to climax explosively, but one benefit of constant healing, there was no hint of exhaustion in her. “God, this is amazing,” she cried, her moans growing louder, less controlled. She braced her hands on his shoulders and rode him harder, taking every inch while the universe rewrote itself outside the glass.

Space travel was slow. It took a full day for them to arrive at their destination, but without his unique abilities, it would have taken weeks, maybe even a full month.

“Wow, talk about traveling in style,” Darcy collapsed onto his chest once the journey finished. “My math is not good enough to count the orgasms I had. I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I can’t handle more, even with healing.”

He kissed her cheek, enjoying her murmur on his chest like a cat. “Don’t worry. We’re here. And, I want you to rest a bit while I do the initial reconnaissance. Once you wake up, we’ll use the super soldier serum.”

Her eyes widened. “Oh, you really know how to keep a lady happy,” she teased, but then paused. “Is this really necessary?” she said.

“Sweetie, you’ll be living on space stations and alien planets while helping me. That’s very much needed,” he said. She nodded, but she also seemed hesitant. “What’s wrong?” he asked.

“I don’t know. Am I the right person for this?”

“Darcy, sweetie, you’re relentless and adaptive. The first thing you did when facing alien gods was to fight about your poptards. Your adaptability will be very useful while contacting other planets. You’ll make an excellent contact person.”

“I have a feeling there are better options,” she said.

“None that I trust,” he said.

Her eyes widened. “You don’t trust Pepper or MJ?”

He chuckled as he kissed her. “I trust them, but I genuinely believe that you’ll be a better option for this task as the mysterious diplomat. MJ can be too standoffish, and Pepper wants everything under her control, and she panics when there are too many variables outside her control.”

“How about Jessica—“ Darcy started, then paused, giggling. “Assume I didn’t say anything. She would probably start by cracking heads.”

“Still, a diplomat…” she said.

“Well, not exactly a diplomat. You’ll be more of a rich traveler contacting with people, and your education in political science will pay off as well."

“Hopefully,” she said as she closed her eyes and fell asleep, exhausted due to travel … and other stuff.

This whole chapter feels off. Basically it's just following Dark World because it happened but it doesn't make any sense for it to happen the same way because Jane circumstances are supposed to be completely different.

Quyan640

Wonder if the protagonist can get any readings from the infinite stones and produces something useful, like what Hydra and the Avengers did with Loki’s scepter/the mind stone; create Wanda and Quicksliver, and Ultron. Maybe the reality stone can help him stabilize his space travel, or a random ship he finds since nearly all ships in Guardians of the Galaxy has them.

Quyan640

Since it’s the reality stone, maybe he could somehow get a reading or data to improve his 3D printing. Edit: Even if he obtains the stone after this, improving his tech will allow him to mass produce on a larger scale. Would definitely be better in his hands than the Collector’s.

Raftler

Are their circumstances really so different? Jane is still researching the same stuff she would 100% be there

Y. B. A.

Michael should probably get a ticket for (finally) recruiting his first henchwoman. Let's hope he's more open with the other girls from now on.

Quyan640

I think this was suppose to be a reply rather than a standalone comment

Quyan640

Good point. I wonder if afterwards he’ll start secretly recruiting other goons, whether it be people who are unknowingly under his employment or stealing goons from other villains. Could be a way to set some people straight since he doesn’t really have any nefarious plans, they can just act as guards or workers, creating job opportunities or ooo, a spy network. Even if his robots can do the job, employing people would be a nice thing to do, especially to gather goodwill or influence for world domination/better leadership option. Edit: starting a revolution or becoming the government could be seen as villainous.

NovaSoulless

Hopefully the MC doesn't piss off Odin because I don't see any scenario where he makes it away from an enraged Odin alive.

VictorWeismann

yes, These two chapters were very disconnected. In the last chapter, he was robbing Cat, in this one Jane disappears, but instead of going after her, he continues what he was doing? Like what the hell, what is happening? For a moment, I thought I had skipped several chapters.

Hakkira

How come he didn't give Darcy the super soldier serum to help with the travel and to empower her for her future role? Also Asgard comes off as really weak in the MCU as they seem to lose almost every battle they ever go into 😭
