Birds for 91! The first part of this painting goes super fast as we try to utilize the wet into wet technique to get a moody soft background. I love the juxtaposition of the warm bright sun with the moody gray feeling in the trees and water. Once you get the background done, slow down and take your time making your bird shapes. I used the reference photo attached at the bottom to help me get the interesting shapes of the birds close up in flight. I can't wait to see how you do with this one! Please let me know if you have any questions.

Paper: arches 140 lb cotton 9X12" paper that I've cut into 3X3" pieces, giving me 12 pieces per page.

Paint: The palette I'm using today is the split primary palette by letter sparrow: cad yellow deep, lemon yellow, cad red, magenta, ultramarine blue, cerulean(probably closer to phthalo blue), indigo and sap green. I don't use all the colors, but I will name them as I mix them. Feel free to use pre mixed convenience colors as well.

Brushes: round 4 & 10- Princeton brand

Is the reference photo available?

I can find it on my phone Patreon app, just not here on my Mac.

Will the tutorials still be available after the end of the year? There are some live classes that I didn't have time for. I'd love to be able to go back to them over the winter.

This looks amazing & I'm excited to do this!

My sister and I joined this group mid July and were worried we would never catch up. We are both now on 91, and as newbies to watercolour we are thrilled with both what we have learnt and having caught up

Yes as long as you are part of Kristin's Patreon, you should be able to access!
