Painting 7 is back bloom coral! The top half of the painting uses a bit of the dry brush technique but work quick so that your colors blend together as you swipe. Use more watery pigment to create blooming coral at the bottom. Key note: TOO much water creates a muddy mess, but waiting for your paper to be damp at just the right time and adding a bit of water is the sweet spot. I can't wait to see how you do with this one! Please let me know if you have any questions.

Paper: arches 140 lb cotton 9X12" paper that I've cut into 3X3" pieces, giving me 12 pieces per page.

Paint: For this project I am using a split primary palette- cad yellow deep, lemon yellow, cad red, magenta, ultramarine blue, cerulean, indigo and sap green. The colors I'm using today are - lemon yellow, magenta, cad red, cerulean, sap green, and ultramarine blue

Brushes: round 4 and 10 - Princeton brand.

Hot pressed or cold pressed paper? anyone?

Linda O'Rear

I treated myself to your sparrow colors and they are so beautiful. I can see why I couldn't quite get the colors like yours. Still learning

If I wanted to do these in a small book, do you have a brand with good paper that you would recommend?
