Dappled light for #21! Layer by layer we build up the scene: textured walls, greenery, stone shapes etc. Once we get into the middle value layers we then add the shadow. Key points about the shadow layer: mix a large amount of wash so you can do the shadow all in one go. Go dark enough that you'll see it when it dries, but use enough water that it's more of a glaze that you can see the wall through. Test your shadow color out first and make sure it's how you want it because once you start, it has t be one solid motion. After the shadows are done we can have fun layering and glazing more textures on top until we reach the final contrast. I can't wait to see how you do with this one! Please let me know if you have any questions.

Paper: arches 140 lb cotton 9X12" paper that I've cut into 3X3" pieces, giving me 12 pieces per page.

Paint: For this project I am using a split primary palette- cad yellow deep, lemon yellow, cad red, perm. rose, ultramarine blue, cerulean, indigo and sap green. The colors I'm using today are - cad yellow, cad red, sap green, ultramarine blue, and indigo.

Brushes: round 4 & 10 - Princeton brand.

So pretty! I’m so far behind, I’m still on the blueberries!

Oh boy … thinking mine is going to look like a cheetah. Looks hard.

Okay I am still suffering over my scraping in #14 “The Nice Stone Wall”, so this is my big chance at Wall Redemption.

This one was so hard for me. The shadows! Yikes.

Rushed the shadows, big mistake! Looking at Kristin's painting, I kept thinking I was looking down from above so I added wisteria blossoms to get the eye to see vertical instead of horizontal.
