Lily pads for 35! We are using a lot of water and pigment in the beginning to make sure our paper stays very wet. Lift out lily pad shapes with a paper towel or rag, but move quickly so that the background remains wet. Then we add the blue to the water around the lily pads to create the final background. It's a bit of a process, so watch it through all the way first to make sure you're getting the lifting part process down. Then you can take your time actually painting the lily pads, building the color up and creating texture and shadow. I can't wait to see how you do with this one! Please let me know if you have any questions.

Paper: arches 140 lb cotton 9X12" paper that I've cut into 3X3" pieces, giving me 12 pieces per page.

Paint: For this project I am using a split primary palette- cad yellow deep, lemon yellow, cad red, perm. rose, ultramarine blue, cerulean, indigo and sap green. The colors I'm using today are - lemon yellow, cad yellow, perm. rose, ultramarine blue, sap green and indigo.

Brushes: round 4 & 10 Princeton
