Greece for #52! So many of you loved the Greece pictures shared in our live class vote chat, so I decided to make it into a tiny painting before negative painting month ends. Take this one as slow as you want, not much wet into wet at all, and you can take your time placing the shadow colors that make the sections in this one pop. Try not to over sketch the outline and let the random watercolor mark shape the details as you layer this scene together. I can't wait to see how you do with this one! Please let me know if you have any questions.

Paper: arches 140 lb cotton 9X12" paper that I've cut into 3X3" pieces, giving me 12 pieces per page.

Paint: For this project I am using a split primary palette- cad yellow deep, lemon yellow, cad red, perm. rose, ultramarine blue, cerulean, indigo and sap green. The colors I'm using today are - cad yellow, cad red, perm. rose, cerulean, sap green and ultramarine blue.

Brushes: round 4 & 10 - Princeton

Hi Kristin, this was so fun to paint! I love the colors & light differences in this one.

The outline is really helpful because sometimes I can’t see the lines in the video clearly. Thank you for including it!

Hi Kristin, I love your vibrant landscapes. Your Lake Como led me to join here. Your instruction method, guidance, and painting style are inspiring. Look forward to more! Thanks

Jen

I love this painting. I haven’t looked at the reference photo but your brown building on the right looks like a statue and I love it.

Such vibrant colors! Curious what cerulean paint that you use? Yours always looks so smooth and lovely blue-green. 😊

Hi Kristin, which brand Cerulean do you use? I'm using Cerulean Chromium Blue by Daniel Smith and the color looks very different, including the granulation.

Alvavy L

In fact, if you can list all the colors with the brands as well, as each brand is slightly different, that would be very helpful, so that I can compare! Thank you so much!

Hi! Check out my newest live stream on the main page where I discover a better cyan. I was using what I thought was winsor and Newton cerulean. Now I’m switching to Holbein manganese for my cyan color. The other colors I’m using are listed in the caption and they are all winsor and Newton professional tubes
