Sand for #55! In this one we are focusing on creating layers and layers of fine mist splatter to get a textured and granulated base for our sand. Then we can add foot print details right on top. Test out different brushes, washes and brushes used for smacking to see how fine you can get your splatter marks. For me, using minimal water on my size 4 and using the flat 3/4 brush to smack produced the best tiny textures. I can't wait to see how you do with this one! Please let me know if you have any questions.

Paper: arches 140 lb cotton 9X12" paper that I've cut into 3X3" pieces, giving me 12 pieces per page.

Paint: For this project I am using a split primary palette- cad yellow deep, lemon yellow, cad red, perm. rose, ultramarine blue, cerulean, indigo and sap green. The colors I'm using today are - cad yellow, cad red and ultramarine blue.

Brushes: round 4 & 10 - Princeton - 3/4 flat for smacking splatter

I am so glad you mentioned that lifting month did your brush in! I couldn't figure out why I was struggling to get my usual precision. New one on the way!

I did a lot of lifting in this one! I got a new brush from Princeton called "blender" with stiff bristles that works better for me with lifting. Turns out that feet are difficult for me. I love the practice, thanks Kristin.
