Autumn leaves for #56! Lots of wet into wet splattering as we build texture and leaf shapes. Add different colors and sizes of splatter as the paper beings to dry to get a layered leafy effect. Focus on what your painting is telling you about where your lights source is coming from and what direction your path is going. Everyone's splatter will look different so try to take the general concept and see what you create from how your splatters form. Focus on perspective when painting the tree trunks and use the reference photo for inspiration if you get lost on where to place them. I can't wait to see how you do with this one! Please let me know if you have any questions.

Paper: arches 140 lb cotton 9X12" paper that I've cut into 3X3" pieces, giving me 12 pieces per page.

Paint: For this project I am using a split primary palette- cad yellow deep, lemon yellow, cad red, perm. rose, ultramarine blue, cerulean, indigo and sap green. The colors I'm using today are - lemon yellow, cad yellow, cad red, perm rose and ultramarine blue.

Brushes: round 4 & 10 - Princeton - 3/4 flat for smacking splatter

I’ve taped it down and had to go to dog training; that’s an excellent idea. Thank you
