Rock stack for #73! There's very little quick wet into wet parts, but this is a true trust the process painting. We're slowly going to build up the layers blending form shadows, creating texture and interest on the rocks and then finally adding the cast shadow to bring it all together. Any time you aren't happy with a line detail or shadow, just rinse your brush, tap it on the paper towel and blend it out. The blends in this one are supposed to be uneven so that we can build up the texture that looks like rock. I can't wait to see how you do with this one. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Paper: arches 140 lb cotton 9X12" paper that I've cut into 3X3" pieces, giving me 12 pieces per page.

Paint: For this project I am using a split primary palette. All colors are Winsor and Newton, except the manganese is Holbein - cad yellow deep, lemon yellow, cad red, perm. rose, ultramarine blue, manganese, indigo and sap green. The colors I'm using today are - cad yellow, cad red, and ultramarine blue.

Brushes: round 4 - Princeton

I'm obsessed with painting rocks and this was helpful! I keep trying to match your browns and I get closer, but it's a challenge.
