Hi everyone! Tomorrow is our live class - Thursday September 24th 12 PM AZ time

The picture above had the most votes and I can’t wait to show you how to paint this beautiful scene with a focus on blending.

Materials:

paper- I'll be using a 4X6" piece of arches watercolor paper, taped down.

paint- Bring any paints that you prefer, I'll be using the W&N limited palette of cad yellow, cad red, ultramarine blue, lemon yellow, perm rose, manganese from Holbein, indigo and sap green.

brushes- We'll be using our regular brushes, size 4 and 10 round

I think this picture will make great use of all of our blending skills we've been working on this month.

If you can’t make the live class, don’t worry! All classes are recorded and available to watch any time after the stream ends.

The link for the live class will be posted tomorrow morning and you’ll be able to click the link and join at 12 PM AZ time when the class starts.

Let me know what questions you have! Can’t wait to paint with you

I seriously feel like I won the lottery! You guys, we're going to paint my picture! 😭 I'm so happy 😊

Thank you so much! Every morning there are at least two bees asleep in my dahlias!

I mixed up much too deep of a warm pink at the very beginning of the live class and never seemed to recover. My petals are garish, and I couldn't really lift enough to salvage them. I wonder in the future if it's best in this case to just pause, course correct (like I do in the prerecorded videos) and stop trying to madly catch up. Any advice?

I personally find that when things go wrong for me on a painting, it is best to just try again on a new piece of paper. I look at what I did wrong and do my best not to repeat the same mistake/s. This is a learning process. Sometimes I've done it over 3 times and didn't ever get it right. It has to be ok, maybe it's just not my day & then I finally let it go. Onto the next piece!

I can understand your 'pain'. My turned out more of a red but I'm just going with what I have. Maybe I will paint another one. But I think I can just work with what I have. I ended up stopping the live and watching the video later. I watch it with close captioning and slow the speed. It helps a lot.

Good tips, Toni -- thank you!
