There are several warhammer 40k ttrpgs in addition to the tabletop wargame! Recently, a new one came out called 'Imperium Maledictum'.

Sounds like the last group was playing a warhammer based RPG using the call of Cthulhu system. Regular 40k only uses D6, there’s no DM, and it’s a PvP wargame where you only attack.

I’ve never really agreed with that idea that it’s all on the DM to be the host of everything. The DM isn’t your mom. They’re not your teacher. They’re your friend, or sibling, or maybe even coworker if you have like a really cool workplace. They have slightly more control over the narrative in game, and ultimately rules decisions fall to them. But if you have a problem at the table with someone it should be up to you to handle it. You’re probably all adults or bare minimum you’re peers. Stop looking to one person to handle all your social problems if you can’t try to handle it yourself. It’s already hard enough to get someone to try DMing. Adding in managing people’s interpersonal relationships along with everything else is wild.

This btw is nothing against the judges and bailiff specifically, it’s just a thing I always see in online dnd spaces where somehow every problem or issue seems to fall back to the DM even if it’s not actually related to the game and is more just a social thing.

I NEVER do this but I had to say, re: the last Dungeon Court case of the ep: Magic Initiate (which I'm assuming is the relevant feat) doesn't let the player change out spells; they are treated as different from the prepared spells of the character. Unless that game is home-ruling that the cantrips can be switched out (which if that's the case you can ignore this, lol), then Mold Earth would always be availible.

Concerning the reading of the d100; there are only 100 combinations of numbers you can roll, not 101. Therefore you cannot roll 0(unless you concede being able to roll 100). 90+10 is 100. 00+1 is 1.

It feels like everyone's forgetting that the story of Aliddan isn't actually Disney's. They made a movie, yes, but the story of Aladdin and the prince of thieves has been around for centuries. It makes sense that an all powerful genie who's been around for as long as human memory, wouldn't fall for such an obvious ploy.

Regarding the D100 the double digit die determines the first number, and the single digit die determines the second number. So a 00 and 3 is 03. When it’s a 00 and 0 it is 100 because if it were 0 you would be rolling for 0-99 not 1-100. Rolling a 100 would be impossible otherwise

From what I can tell there’s two different camps on how to read d100 rolls that both work equally fine, but this one is the right and correct way to do it 😤

I feel like people need to decide how they read d100s at the table during session zero, especially in base 100 systems. There’s been at least one other case due to this confusion 😭
