Adam!!!!!

early short rest? we're eating good today!

Blubread00

I feel like I could get a lot of seagulls without question if I dressed up like a local wildlife official

Kellyd

Omg Swimily, Soarin' is truly the best ride on the planet, goat opinion as usual

Patrick Strickland

I can't remember the last time a short rest came out on Thursday. Vacation for Duck Team?

CommodoreBlue

MeeMaw, Ulfgar, and Lucanis had an adventure in The Astral Sea in C1 that never got talked about. I’d love to see that run as a one shot with Emily playing MeeMaw, Jake playing Ulfgar, and Caldwell playing Lucanis. That, and a one shot about the Boobs day in the Elemental Chaos. I think they were level 7 at the time? And they spent a whole day that was never covered. Could be anything

JR Lonergan

Emily you'd like Grist. Voracious Larva. Golgari graveyard

Jordan Marschke

I would loooove an mtg play show on drop out!!

WesKane

In highschool I would actively trip the assholes who would harass the geese in the field when we would run laps. No regrets don't chase animals if ya don't want to be chased back lol

Cheese of the Lake

Hear me out - peanut butter and pickle sandwich! Crunchy peanut butter and gherkins cut in half

Casey Alexander

Mayo is great in things. You can put it in chocolate cake so it’s very moist and fluffy

Logan K

So happy my question was brought up!

Feyza Craven

I’d love to see adult Bev with a mullet

Mandii Kennedy

Hear me out: dipping a Slim Jim (original flavour) I to Dunkaroo icing. Dunkajims was a staple at my South Jersey high school. Also a close contender, Pixie Stix on a regular flavour Dorito.

Sean Boyle

Murph, you should check out Tiamat as a commander. She's 5 colors and she let's you get five dragons from your deck into your hand when she ETB's it's DnD and Dragons in Magic the Gathering. She is from the DnD set they did like 2 or 3 years ago.

Sean Boyle

If you build a goblin deck get Crime novelist. It's a great card.

Emil Hvas

I feel like the triplets would do well with the grinch. Maybe they work with him to destroy Christmas, in some sort of scheme to get cash, but then have to fight him, when he turns heel and becomes a "good" guy.

fig ficus

omg i love valerian

Harry Frost

Love the idea of an orc arc. I had a running mental bit when playing shadow of Mordor; I would farm orcs vulnerable to stealth and kill their rivals so they rose to positions of power (and could then be easily killed). Head canon is that all these orcs would meet and casually drop that they recently got a new life coach, and everyone else is like 'oh no way, me too'. Something really nice about people really easily manipulated finding out they've been manipulated and getting revenge.

No Plan Anne

Hear me out: good mayo and cracked black pepper on a saltine cracker. If you can get it, Duke's mayonnaise from the Southeast is best.

No Plan Anne

I've only gotten to enjoy Soarin' over California at Epcot, but the cool fragrant mist over the orange groves was awesome.

Pedro De Oliveira

Hear me out: peanut butter and grapes. Slap that smooth salted peanut butter on that grape and chomp it down. Ive been shunted and shamed by friends and family. None of which have tried this delicacy. Its my favorite night time snack and i have it a lot while playing dnd (online ofc, i am ashamed to try it at a table)

No Plan Anne

Yeah, wear a vest with a patch and carry a clipboard, right? Perfect SEP* camouflage. It also helps to be plain and unremarkable. * SEP "somebody else's problem" cloaking technology from Douglas Adams books

Jarod With

I have never felt closer to Murph than I do in this moment... I too will eat 3 to 4 Outshine brand popsicles a day. Grape is the best. Lemon comes second. THEN Raspberry.

thiswayjose

chocolate or nutella and grapes also works and it's weird.

thiswayjose

ok, so on the summer grinch thing. I think it's Freddy Krueger. He targets summer camps and invades their dreams.

Deejayem

My 3 year oldest hear me out snack is pickles in cottage cheese

Alex Adah

Regarding Emily’s idea of a mixed bag where you all watch a Sci-fi movie commonly agreed upon as “bad”, I think it would be really fun to hear what you guys think of the 1984 Dune movie. Especially since everyone is a big fan of the new one.

JustAce

Whoever asked the Magic question I love you. I wanted to ask them the same thing!

Georgia

OUTSHINE RULES. MURPH W. my summer snack choice is a thickass smoothie on the deck, with a joint, watching the baby bunnies play in the garden

Shel B Kennas fav SG is welly’s number one felly

Outshine also has a multi pack of lemon, lime and pomegranet. It's the ultimate variety pack, no skips in the flavor departments. The pom one is excellent to add to a little bit of tequila and let it turn into a slushie 👀

Cicely Hodges

Bread and butter pickle with peanut butter on a cracker Surprisingly not terrible!

Jake de Medeiros

My hear me out snack is very Eastern European, from rural Czechia, boiled pasta mixed with sour cream topped with a pinch or two of salt. Gluten free pasta works well too! Hopefully Emily enjoys this one.

The Wizard Spring

Hear me out snack: Wrap a pealed orange slice in a basil leaf. Best if you close your eyes, let your imagination run wild, and discuss what you saw with loved ones.

Murf'nLurph

I love this!🤤🤤🤤

Michael

The Canadian in me really likes that Murph plays hockey.

Evan Cordero

Murphs diet is something I wish my body would let me do. The man is really smart and creative and has made a really well thought out universe. But homeboys is eating popsicles like nobody's business. Everytime I get a glimpse into murphs eating habits I wish I could do them and still be relatively healthy. Idk how he does it. I bow down to Mr. City Pigeon

Jackson Roth

Just my 2 cents but I think Elvis enjoyed peanut butter*, mayo and banana sandwiches! Doesn't sound horrifying with peanut butter, and even add judge Tanny's bacon in there

xatlern

Binging with Babish just had an episode that was basically the "hear me out" snacks idea, and the star of the show ended up being "gatorwine" which is half light blue Gatorade and half cheap red wine 😂 I haven't done this in ages, but a snack I used to make was a fishstick sandwich which was just fishsticks and ketchup on white bread.

Courtney F.

Having been at the Jersey Shore last month, chasing seagulls away has become widely accepted. They've even started training hawks to chase them away. Now catching them... Idk about that 😂

mandy

the velocicoaster is truly a life-changing experience

Tabaxi Druid Sarah

Emily is right. Jupiter Ascending is a stone cold classic. Emily promoting this while Murph and Caldwell are talking about Viva Rock Vegas makes me trust Emily's taste in movies more.

Kat Camille

I really hope Emily has seen the new Bloomburrow MTG cards.

Vonvonvon

Let Em do a hot boy winter where they meet the Grinch!

Audro Baggins

OMG EMILY HAVE TOU SEEN THE BLOOMBURROW COMMANDER DECKS?? 🤩🤩

The Wizard Skoolie

Now we know why there isn't room for 3 gallons of ice cream in Emily and Murph's fridge. Because it absolutely chock full of popsicles!

M

Caldwell, please design a cocktail called "the Summer Grinch"

Adam Scull

You all should watch fall out the series and do a mixed bag review

Brina Rosenberg

I'm so easily influenced and the passion that they talked about mtg makes me want to play now

TitoDarko

I love that you guys love MTG you guys should colab with Command Zone

TitoDarko

Murph I'm 100% sure you would love a Krenko, Mob Boss commander deck or a Grenzo, Dungeon Warden deck

Katie Wilde

Objection, your honour, this is a slime sandwich made of slime and I must insist it is indeed, a horrifying proposition.

Katie Wilde

So they can commit you? Lolol if I could hallucinate this easily... hmm but we do have both those ingredients and I happen to live with my in laws so... I guess I'm hearing you out on this one haha

Katie Wilde

Aw hell yeah, I eat this all the time

Ripley Stardust Love

Idk if this “hear me out” is common or not, but creamer being too expensive made me start just putting hot chocolate powder in my coffee instead of creamer. It makes it kinda like a mocha and satisfys my sweet tooth.

Katie Wilde

I think my HMO snax are: Smoked oysters (sounds like but is decidedly not fancy, this is No Frills fare) with cheese of choice and rice crackers or PC sourdough croutons Aforementioned croutons and, uh, I have to go so anything else you love, everything goes with these fuckin croutons

15squirrelsinabearsuit

I feel like Emily would really like Ygra, Eater of All bc it's just a hungry little kitty that'll turn you into a heel real fast 🥰

Salem

murph is so real for the outshine bars, i love those things so much and would eat 4 a day if i could

Hex Sharpe

Oh my god I want to play commander with all of you so BAD

Ross Begg

On the subject of Magic the Gathering, I think that the 2 crew would LOVE the most recent Bloomburrow Set.

Katherine

The Grinch antithesis is the Cat in the Hat

Jack

PA native and the comet is a classic but one of the worst at hershey park

MitchySlaps

Now I want an episode where they make and try weird food submissions such as the banana mayo Sammy.

Taylor Manes

the comet was the first coaster i ever went on!!!!

Rachael

Commander is the peak form of Magic. I have a Zur the Enchanter deck and a Sidisi Brood Tyrant zombie tribal deck, so fun

Jette Nielsen

Listening to this while doing the merch club puzzle! Yay

SeminoleDVM

Banana sandwich - mayo on one side, peanut butter on the other side. Magic.

thiswayjose

Emily! You have to listen to the Newcomers podcast! It’s also on Headgum and you’ll be in the exact same situation as the hosts!

Mr.Dead

If Teeth on Wood is what is holding Emily back from enjoying popsicles I would highly recommend some kind of Freeze Pop, which are in a little tube instead. They also tend to be less messy in my experience

Jody

I think we discovered that Jake is officially an almond Dad!! Also as an avid dessert person I can't fathom people just not liking sweets.

Jody

I think Murph forgot to mention that they are fruit popsicles. Which makes it a bit better to eat so many.

Jody

Or mix it all up and have Emily play Ulfgar, Caldwell play MeeMaw and Jake play Lucanis. That would be so fun!

Fox

The Summer Grinch does exist! There was a back-to-school commercial for Staples in the late 90’s and early 00’s where a dad dances around Staples buying school supplies for his clearly miserable children while “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year!” plays in the background. Summer Grinch is the Advertising Executive who came up with this or hell, maybe even the dad character himself. Alternatively- people who start include September in “Spooky Season”. Early & Mid September are part of Summer! I won’t stand for this late-summer erasure!

Matthew Ising

My three main commanders are Tiamat, Edgar Markov, and Zaxara the Exemplary. Love hearing about the game here

CommodoreBlue

Giving Jake a high-level wizard? He’ll take one look at that spell list and just decide to stab people with a dagger the whole time 🤣

Eli the Gamer Guy

But murph... What about Philadelphia Italian ice???

Thomas Hegarty

Loved hearing y’all talking about MTG. I’m a K’rrick, Omo, and Gisela fan myself. I also really love Jupiter ascending and those extremely campy sci-fi movies. I just love different worlds

Thomas Hegarty

Also petition to get Emily and Beardsley on elder dragon hijinks or commander at home. Just want to see them mix with Olivia Gobert-Hicks

Shane Kelly

Yes, love hearing nadpod talk about magic. Murphy should definitely check brago king eternal. It's blue white and great at control

Shane Kelly

They would eat shit up. Would definitely end up with a frog or raccoon deck. Maybe rats lol

SkipperMars

Mixed Bag Taste Test Idea Rat Sandwiches Recipe: Ritz cracker 1/4 of a slice of cheese of choice Drop of Kewpie mayo Salami slice Ritz cracker For a while on my lunches I exclusively ate Rat Sandwiches. They are economical, tasty, and nutritious enough. Try one or slam ten if you’re starving, Rat Sandwiches are so delectable, it’s alarming.

Leomund's Tiny Nut

I’m watching valerian and all the cities, cold open is epic and Murphs up dude?

Fox

A couple weeks ago in Ocean City NJ, one of the hawks on the boardwalk got lose. I watched the falconer try and coax it back with a toy & treats but the hawk was like, “Nah, I’m just gonna chill on this apartment balcony above the boardwalk a while. Really do my own thing.”

Caleb Horton

As someone who catches and rehabs birds for a living, the answer to the seagull question is 0. Catching a healthy bird is next to impossible (unless you have a net gun).

Kendra

Hear me out! Cream cheese and olive Sammie's.

Zeon Liberation

Outshine pops are so good. What about an otterpop? No wood sticks.

Ray Matford

My hear me out snack is Welch’s Fruit Snacks and Goldfish crackers mixed together. The ideal ratio is about 3-4 goldfish per single fruit snack gummy.

wasabibagel

Crunchy peanut butter light hoisin, 2 fried eggs, and jalapeño slices,(the nachos kind) Or fig preserves, habanero, and peanut almond or sunflower butter

Blobby5678

Grinch campaign I made for the holidays this year - pc’s are sucked into a winter wonderland demiplane where all winter holiday magic/characters/events all exist. PC’s are introduced to le grinch as he enlists their help to save the realm. The grinch in this story is confined to a wheelchair as he can no longer function normally due to his enlarged heart. His magic is fading as the good deeds he’s done since saving Christmas the first time continued to cause his heart to grow, slowly killing him. He is too weak to take on the coming danger alone so he sends Cyn (Cindy Lou Who) along with the party to the North Pole where a warlock has incapacitated Santa, created a puppet dictator, and plans to summon an evil god to destroy the realm… teehee

Courtney F.

Did you see what happened to it?! Does training birds really work? Or will they simply fly away??? 🤣

TJ maxx

Elsa is the summer grinch.

Kayli

I was thinking the exact same thing

Katherine

Yeah but that sounds delicious

♡ Pixie ♡

omg please try peanut butter pickle sandwiches! A staple of my childhood

MegaBee

Hear me out: take an oreo, open it up and put a similarly sized square of mild* cheddar cheese, resandwich and eat. * I think this would work with medium too but an old cheddar or one with a lot of character, eh, maybe too overwhelming. I have no idea if an American cheese slice would work here, but I do recommend a block cheddar.

AutoReroll

Vegemite on a roasted cheese sandwich is incredible!

The Fun Yaunt

Wow wow wow I’m listening to this episode while enjoying an Outshine popsicle!!! Murph, you need to try the mango flavor!

Dragonkillbot

All I'm saying is I want to hear the crew talk about the new DnD movie honor among thieves

Charlie L

Emily recommended a book in one of her recent shout-outs but I cannot for the life of me remember what it was or find it again. Does anyone remember which book she recommended?

Brian

As someone who actually does grinch stuff like every year dressing up as the grinch and even on Halloween dressing as the grinch and dressing him in a costume. I need a grinch campaign. If you guys ever come back to Virginia I will show up as the grinch.

Bransy330

Seagulls are the Summer Grinch, or at the very least fulfill the role of Max

Corndog Ramsay

I would love to see some commander content from you guys! I love watching magic games.

Smiththebat

I mean phones are almost all waterproof these days. Not indefinitely but for a push in the pool? Absolutely! I use mine as an underwater camera and never have had any problems and it’s been years and generations of phones. TL:DR -> BRING BACK PUSHING PEOPLE IN POOLS! Assume everyone has a recent phone. 🤙

happylinlin00

finding out murph has multiple popsicles a day is hilariously delightful and also so validating XD i basically always have some kind of dessert ready to go, right now it's half a cake from the grocery store that i absolutely just cut a slice from almost every day do what makes you happy with your adult money friends, just remember to eat your veggies too lmao

shay b.

the comet at hershey park RULES, murph a man of taste

Jeremias B

Can't have fruit combat without the true spiked king - Durian

Scotty

Yall gotta check out the new bloomburrow set for MTG that just came out! Cute critters with lots of fun mechanics!

Omar Mtz

Emily! I also like weird syfy movies and Valerian and the city of 1000 planets

inigomontoya

So glad to hear a Hershey Park shout out! I went to school in Hershey! Hear me out food? I guess I sprinkle salt on my melon fruits. Salty and sweet. Weird ass scifi movies? 13 Ghost, Alien Raiders, Class of 1999 II, Demolition Man, Enemy Mine. I could really go on and on.

Lovecraftian

I'm so tempted to stat up four elemental Grinches now

BeanCurdHero

when caldwel said a smoothie is what you eat so you are not mad at everyone was so relatable lol

OGBlake

My 'hear me out' is so specific and so much work that it's not worth doing but hear me out is BMR, Bread, Meat, Ranch. Ranch has to be homemade Meat is up to you, a nice turkey always hits the spot but be adventurous (except for honey ham it's garbage) And then finally the bread is the French bread that you buy at the store. Childhood favorite and goes so hard but making homemade ranch is such a pain in ass I don't do it often

Shane C

So it sounds like the Grinch campaign is happening

Mortimer Lunch

Murph’s margarita by the pool is so real. I decided to have a margarita and a popsicle by the pool next weekend because of this.

Robert de Forest

I'd like to hear more about "playing music for a fish".

CW

If you do the hear me out snacks segment.. gotta be called heroes feast

Borple

I love the assumption that a dead body would cease to move through a water slide

Peter Lista

I'd love to see Emily and Murph's EDH decks!

Shrimp Loaf

Hear me out... iceberg lettuce on a PB&J

JustSomeKnob

Wtf, no spoiler warning for The Matterhorn???

Ghost

I wonder if Emily's commander was Marisi, Breaker of the Coil

Anna Freitas

cottage cheese has endless hear me out possibilities - I'm a fan of pairing it with apple sauce (not so weird) or ketchup (pretty dang weird)

Moonlit Ghost

I would definitely submit my sandwich if yall did a mixed bag like that

cx

Re: Jake’s cousin, I have such a vivid memory of one summer at the v end of the 90s/beginning of the 00s where me, my friend, her dad, and her dad’s friend had been making such a game of pushing each other into the swimming pool. One afternoon, when her dad’s friend had been watching us for a while, her dad came back from the shops, and put down his shopping. He was already only wearing swimming trunks and a thin clothe sarong that would dry quickly, so we watched gleefully as his friend snuck up behind him and pushed him into the pool. Alas! He emerged furious and swearing viciously, because his swimming trunks had one of those little zip pockets, and he actually used it - readers he didn’t just have his (still medium rare) phone in that pocket, but also about 200 cash money, and HIS PASSPORT. Safe to say I have never pushed anyone in a pool ever again.

Excelsidorks!

Murph I love ya man, but I had finally gotten off of popsicles. Now I'm back on 2 Eddy's/Outshine bars a day😂

Nathaniel Parsons

Please please can we have an orc-centric mini campaign. I so need to hear your orc voices.

Adam!!!!!

imagine a curse that whenever you cast tiny hut you summon 2d12 + 4 seagulls inside of it

Lobbying for another Atlanta Live Show - Mr. Adams

A banana sandwich made properly would be two pieces of white bread, a thin scraping of mayonnaise on one side, a thin layer of peanut butter on the other, and split banana in the middle. Garrett is right, it is a great summertime sandwich, but I would not have it every day. 🤣

Wzrdkng

I love mtg so much, I built a goblin deck with Krenko, mob boss as the commander and totally thought of murph during the build. Jusy flooding the board with goblins.

Andrew Burgess

Hearing murph state he also eats 3-4 Outshine Popsicles a day makes me no longer ashamed when I down that many before sundown

martiniimakes

Here me out for the snack mix bag. Top ramen but a little bit of mashed potatoes flakes. Just enough to make it creamy.👨‍🍳

Jacob B.

Theres a sandwich described in a Stephen King book thats like PB&J + thick cut tomato slices and mustard. To me that sounds FOUL.

Darkrisky

Omg they answered my question about Magic!!! Best day ever!!!!!

Jackson Roth

Holy cow I've never had second hand embarrassment like I got reading this comment lol, good gods how unfortunate

Evan

We definitely need something set in the Grinchwild

Daniel Jester

Someone needs to buy them the heroes feast DND cookbook. The abyssal chicken kebabs are a crowd pleaser

Del

Maybe there will be another comment thread if they do the mixed bag, but I finally thought of my “hear me out” food. Take iceberg lettuce, separate out a big crunchy leaf (washed ofc). In the center, around the “spine”, put white granulated sugar. Roll it up like a cigar, crunch into it and enjoy! It was something my dad made us as kids. My dad grew up in the 40’s/50’s, apparently his dad did this when he was a kid as well. Maybe you have to be a sugar loving kid to enjoy this, but I remember the texture and crunch of the sugar and lettuce being really nice.

Eli Tornøe

This has been on my mind ever since the DND court episode with Pizza Orders. My "hear me out" food is definitely Salad Pizzas. Either an Iceberg/Kebab/Dressing pizza or just a Ham/Cheese/Spinach pizza. Find a locally owned, not chain pizza place I promise it's great. Iceberg/Kebab is probably the most popular pizza order where I'm from

Brandon Stacks

Banana and mayo is a southern staple and I’m surprised Caldwell hasn’t had one

Lia

"15 Seagulls stuck in a tent" sounds like a Make Some Noise prompt for Josh Ruben

Shel B Kennas fav SG is welly’s number one felly

Not sure if yall are still taking “hear me out” snacks but some gluten free options: habanero lime chips (kettle brand!) with Mexican crema to dip in OR coco powder + tamari whipped tofu with avocado, it turns into a chocolate mousse and it’s super delicious!

Olivia Spencer

My first magic deck in commander that I made was Tiamat and I think Emily would really like it honestly.

Jackson Roth

I haven't been able to find it, but I swear at ome point one of the crew (Caldwell I think) referred to Twilight Sanctorum as "TWANK" Was this something conjured up by a fever dream or real?

Jackson Roth

Calling Emily and Murph!! Emily, can you remember the name of the commander that causes the opponents to attack each other and not you? Murph, is Ranar the name of the commander that does the foretell you mentioned? Sorry for randomly asking for clarification, looking to get into commander lately!

Kr115

No, the summer Grinch steals fireworks on the 4th of July

Tylerscer

We need the hear me out snacks!!

Ben Wilcox

Lime Outshine bars are heavenly

jdthetugboat

If I have popsicles I’ll eat them all

itamar mendelson

Anyone got the episode number for the original cake discussion?

Patrick Walsh

The summer grinch is the Conch, instead of hair it’s a hard shell and he’s a shoeby who steals ice cream and blows away beach umbrellas

Joe Shmoe

Valerian IS bad but with beautiful scenery you like art that's fine

Alexander McArthur

Hey I’m late to this, but I’m a big MTG guy too and have some recomendations for Murph and Emily as I enjoy playing weird decks: Emily: -Check out Ur Dragon for your dragon deck, it’s 5 color and it’s such an awesome way to play dragons, it has eminence which makes all dragons cost one less even when it’s in the command zone - you might like John Irenicus. He’s black blue and his whole thing is at your end step you give your opponents a creature and they cant attack you, can’t be sacrificed, but must attack every turn. You essentially give people creatures with crazy downsides and force them to keep them! Murph: -Yusri fortunes favor might be my favorite deck I think you’d vibe with. You essentially gamble your life with coin flips every time he attacks to draw cards, and if you win 5 in a row you get to play everything for free for the turn. You either win the game or go out in a blaze of glory, it’s amazing. Love you guys are getting into EDH, it’s my favorite magic format!

Robert

LOVED hearing the shout out for Outshine bars from Murph. I love those things.

DazWaz

Hear me out.... Doritos and a dipping spaghetti sauce

Shmule Scanlon

valarian and the city of a thousand planets is my favorite movie

Ian Mcilwean

Oh so Nyack was just an exaggeration.

Lilli of the bog

Sounds delicious and also I agree with your name.

John the Spaceship

Just tried the banana and mayo sandwich. Pretty damn good! The creaminess of a ripe banana mixes really well with the mayo. I’m as surprised as anyone.

Kael Sauder

Made me chuckle, thank you :)

The Grinch (feral)

Re water park murder: wave pool is a great option, but another one is the fucking last river. Bc the water is moving and if you do it when it’s busy, you can just trap the person under all the inner tubes until they drown. Which is horrific and morbid but like, effective I guess lol

Katelyn

Maybe a little late, but I’m a product specialist for a BBQ company. You may have a blockage in the jets/valve. It’s a maintenance thing you should keep an eye on. Also, please clean your BBQ 😂

rae

I feel so seen, I grew up with bacon and banana sandwiches!!! (Mayo optional, but you have to grill it like a grilled cheese)
