Zagreus

Yes! I love this world so much

Diana Foti

Murph! How come your not going to be in the New Dimension 20 wrestling session!!!???.

Zanna

albinism can cause you to have pinkish or purpleish eyes sometimes

The Grinch (feral)

Dude, zudric totally should be learning how to play wonderwall. It’s basic enough for a beginner to learn, but is also like that one song all douchey guitar guys learn to impress girls (they do not ever impress any girls) Also, I went to Ross yesterday, and while me and my boyfriend were in the changing room, I randomly oppa—“Alexa, play despacito”—style, said “Siri play wonder wall”, as a joke after the hippy dippy dress I was trying on didn’t fit, and fully didn’t realize until like two minutes later that the Siri on my phone had head that and had quietly started playing wonder wall in the middle of the Ross dressing room, until my boyfriend pointed it out to me as I was wrestling with another dress. I only ended up buying a skirt and a shrek pullover lol

Adamantium

🙋🏽‍♂️ nerd here: I think Daario has a blue or green beard in the books. His people, the Tyroshi, were known for having flamboyant hair colors

Kellyd

Short rest posted on a Thursday?! Talk about an early rose amiright

Sarah

Literally was just discussing this with friends 😭

Lauren Hartz

Murph going "You have piercing blue eyes Emily. They're like blue green, but they're piercing" was actually really cute in an exasperated but madly in love kind of way. Made me think of the quote, "To be loved is to be seen and appreciated for merely existing."

Toblerone. jpg

woah, i remember hearing them talk about getting dice out of a soup can before, world shattering lore drop

Natural Dragon

3 witches and a dog? Don’t you threaten me with a good time. I would love to play with the dog. Then see if I can get voted most giving with the witches Also one of the scariest moments of my life was when my dad in the BWCA. We were canoeing in a narrow channel between lakes and out of nowhere a fully submerged moose pops up out of the water 5 feet away from our canoe. I vividly remember my dad just telling me “just keep paddling and don’t look at it” he told me later he was terrified when he saw that moose’s head pop out of the water.

Kellyd

Also confirming there were crabsters in the trinyvale grocery store live show

Cyrus

Purple eyes are really and so is slurping any water from a straw, y’all need to check out life straws. They’re straws with a filtration system in them for backpacking

Cyrus

*For safety I feed obligated to put this in, as a backpacker, the general rule to making water safe is you have to do it two ways and that it should be running, clear water. (Two ways means filtration plus boiling it or iodine/bleach. This is why I haven’t used them, but they are supposed to be safe.) But absolutely look up pictures of people using these things, it’s awesome.

EternalSongbird

Lmfao the absolute PTSD i was buffeted with while y'all discussed Crazy Train was insane...High school band ruined that song utterly and completely to the point where if i hear any inkling of the song, i go into a catatonic rage cuz i hate it so much, and i'm in my 30s now 😭😭

Transfemmes4murph

as a girl who tucks, i really do sometimes “lock away my junk” lol

JustVeryMundane

I haven’t heard of crazy train in so long, and randomly two days ago, my girlfriend brought it up to me and was talking about the lyrics. So glad it got brought up here, so now I can talk to her about it without looking up the lyrics

Liz

It’s blue!! I remember because it was such an insane detail lol

Adam!!!!!

thomas the tank engine does only have 49 results on rule34

Laura !

with everyone talking about how fun lost history is and now joking about changing their eye color it’s really just making me think that the 2 crew should pick up the way of kings

Hugo Wull

My high school used to have “Class Klutz” but they stopped awarding it after one kid won it for falling through a window and breaking it. And for the record, I won Most Unique.

Yves-Pearl

sometimes I forget emily was also a religion major and then she drops something like martin buber and the I/thou relationship with God(s) and my little masters in theology having heart skips for a second

Hugo Wull

It was blue! The Tyroshi in specific all dye their hair and beards bright colors. At least one minor (possibly unnamed?) Tyroshi character is said to have a rainbow beard.

Gabriel Graywood

I think Daario dyes his hair and fingernails blue, and has a gold mustache.

AXWH

Petition to canonize Alexandria's Genesis in Skaldova

Benjamin P Parson Gomberg

Well, guess I need to get an eight foot retractable straw for some fun around the house.

benedict.m

loved hearing the i-thou mention! I only know Buber through the book How to Do Nothing but I really want to read his writing

Hampter2

The chuul is such a good monster. Threw one at my party on a boat with a ballista. They're nasty

Jay Barber

SKALDOVAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Margaret

I would love a one shot with the band of boobs where they just hit a bunch of random encounters haha

Teo Tamashiro-Harris

The drawers discussion got me curious so I looked it up and it's from draw meaning pull (as in draw water), so drawers were things you pulled onto your body. The more you know 🌈

AmberDextrous!

Crazy Train is my go-to karaoke song so when Jake was like "it's a party song!" I was like... what parties are you going to, brother?

Tiffany

Is it piercing blue though?

Renee Wild

Em and Murph came in on Crazy Train at the exact same time without missing a beat

Katie P.

I got "Most Unique" in my high school, which should be great but definitely felt so backhanded because I went to a private catholic school where all the popular kids were yuppies who gave rich people insults. Elizabeth Taylor had purple eyes

Rob H.

It's a bit of a deep cut, but "How I get myself Killed" by Indigo de Souza would be very funny for Zudric. It's only 4 chords, bud, you can do it!

Marley McDonough

My wife has asked for a novel from Jake. She’s been catching up on the other campaigns, but this is the first where we’ve been able to listen together. She absolutely loves Jake’s prose and the way that the characters really embody Romantic knighthood. Big thanks to you all for another amazing story!

Madelyn S

I graduated high school in 2021 — honest to god my senior superlative was “most stylish mask wearer” 🫥

Samuel Gray

Daario naharis does have dyed facial hair in the books! He does look fucking absurd - and there’s an argument to be made he has a lot more to hide, like being euron Greyjoy lmao. If we’re keeping it random/class clown/most likely to give out blowjobs in here

Lindsey

Anytime anyone brings up a moose, my brain from middle school automatically responds "one of the last remaining species of North American megafauna."

Jennifer

I agree about the random encounter tables. I remember running a pre written campaign that had a random encounter table and being like "aw man I hope they get this one, the other ones are boring in comparison" then I was like "oh yeah I can just let them have the cool encounter.

Swaff

Real Brooklynites spend summer afternoons at pebble beach with a cup on a string

Abigail Agnew

I read a story once about a blacksmith whose children had to appease a dragon for some reason. They brought it food, meat at first but then milk or porridge or something and then eventually (might’ve been some other steps I’m forgetting) it turned into a cat.

AstroGibbon

To really sell the river drinker Halloween costume, you really need to pair it with a sleeping bag, or a pillow case if you’re a child.

Dmkampz

Zudrick needs to learn Never Ment by American football Lolol

Hammy

Maybe It’s not too late To learn how to love And forget how to hate

Anthony

Thomas the Tank engine is basically flesh light shaped

Nicole Jordan

I’m relistening to C1 and they actually talk about superlatives on the short rest for ep 75. It was crazy cause I was like you guys just talked about this! But of course it just happened to line up with my relisten.

Ross Wright

What does Murphy think of the John Cena heel turn

Gino Rodriguez

My fiancé and I won cutest couple and now 12 years later we’re getting married this month 🤩

Kate Mitchell

As a Mainer, we had to watch an animation of a car hitting a moose as part of our driver's ed because we needed to know that the moose would go on but the car (and potentially us) would be destroyed. They're gigantic - a sedan would be as tall as their legs. There are also signs all over the highway warning you to watch out for moose.

Slappy Dave

Unironically I would enjoy being Johnny Longstraw for Halloween and I probably wouldn't explain it

Slappy Dave

I saw a moose standing in a deep ditch on the side of the road while I was riding a motorcycle in Washington State It's head was level with mine Very glad it stayed in the ditch

Ross Wright

I one best hair for men in mine and that was the moment I peaked lol

Ross Wright

Zudrich needs to play counting crows lol

Tony Cappellino

“Heirs of a cold war That's what we've become Inheriting troubles I'm mentally numb” Damn, Ozzy really wasn’t even subtle about it lmao

E.E. Gads

Fellow Mainer! I saw a moose on a nature walk behind my highschool... huuuuge beasts

E.E. Gads

Came here to say this! Pretty sure it's like neon blue or some shit

Zane

Getting a toothless tattoo soon. Knowing he was based off of how a cat acts makes it that much cooler!

Chris Warner

Me too! That's where I heard it recently. I thought I was losing it. Like, didn't they just have this conversation on the last short rest?

Ziel R.

Man listening to this show is doing weird things to my work playlist. I already recently added Night Moves. Now I've got Crazy Train on the playlist.

Ursa

moose can be extremely dangerous! i had to call Fish & Game about moose in my neighborhood several times back when i lived in Idaho. however big you think they are, if you haven't seen them in person, you probably aren't thinking big enough. once, a summer camp i staffed had an adult moose wandered into our camp during a free activity timeblock & not having eyes on all of the kids at once was terrifying!

Connor Klotzbach

Just to confirm since i just finished asoiaf; the summer islanders and tyroshi dye their birds crazy colors and odd shapes. Dario has like a three prong, blue beard

Christopher Martin-Givens

I want to see Murph break down the Rock and John Cena heel turn events in WWE. I don't follow it but it seems exciting

k.allen

You speak of this Jonny Long Straw bit as if I am not sitting here contemplating this for a DragonCon Cosplay now.

tori

Hey guys!! Just wanted to give a heads up & let yall know that this episode is missing from the Skaldova Collection 🫶 ok love ya bye!

Grass

My chihuahua is a dragon for sure

EmperorGreed

As a Minnesotan I'm honor bound to address Emily calling moose "one of the bigger predators"

Michael Beck

Johnny Longstraw " I drink your river! I DRINK IT UP!"

Holly Painter

Renly had a rainbow guard so all his kingsguard had a different colored cape which may be what youre thinking of

Nique.Mon

And the Short Rest collection as well! :)

Nathan Wilson

You should probably explain it if you know anyone who works in mental health. Polydipsia is a common additional diagnosis in those facilities. Those people WILL drink anything.

Nathan Wilson

This is a late comment, but I feel like I should point out that polydipsia (excessive drinking of fluids) is a thing in mental health facilities. It's common in people with schizophrenia. Cosplaying as Johnny Longstraw is likely to elicit some uncomfortable questions from law enforcement and medical professionals.

AwkwardCorgi

I think this one is missing in the short rest and skaldova lists!

welcometojen

I fully did not understand how “Most Giving” was an insult until Murph explained it, how did everyone just understand that was a dig right away 😭

J. Gro

They were joking when they said "meese," right?... A college friend from Alaska told me a story of when a young moose hit HER in her car (too much momentum, not enough awareness). It's knees went to the top of her roof (a very small car, a De Woo, but still!), and it walked away fine, but her car suffered a bit of damage. Wild stuff! Literally!

James Drenning

I love when everyone but Jake show how sheltered they were lmao. 'stadium hits like seven nation army ' lmao

James Drenning

The fact they assumed crazy train was about drugs is a great sign they never listened to anything other than the sht that was popular when they were young. I am a little older then them (2+ years) and our generation has no clue about anything before 1996 lmao

Alex S.

On the off chance y'all see this, just a heads up this short rest and the one for episode 6 didn't get added to the "Skaldova" collection.

Frances Montell

Purple eyes are real. Elizabeth Taylor was known for having violet eyes

Grace Meers

or the short rest collection

DT

Just FYI, this episode isn’t in the Skaldova collection.

Driscoll

Am I so thoroughly an East Coaster that I wholeheartedly believe no one in NY would stop you from drinking the river?

Kitt

Love that round 2 turned into bullying each other 🤣

Jeff Merrill

That's not a Long Straw, that's a freaking Proboscis

Compound27

I vote Murph for Most "Giving" <3 Zudrick should learn smoke on the water by deep purple

Beth Sophia

This is the first listen where I have the time to actually comment and I was really hoping I wasn't the only one who knows this! I think the only class I got an A in during college was History of Fashion Design, lol. It's slang that has survived since the 1500's, a time when a pair of underpants were still two individual pant legs you literally put on (and tied around your waist) one leg at a time.
