Re rat king sister: I think it can suck if you inadvertantly make your party members take more damage by unintentionally taking yourself out of the equation. Idk how it felt at the table but this might make a player feel guilty

My friend is a DM and she raises chickens. She says a Druid who wild shapes into a chicken could lay an egg “if they’re a girl” My other friend just learned that chickens don’t “do it” every time they lay eggs. “I thought they were just *doing it* everyday”.

Well with the actor feat you can take on the mannerisms and voice patterns of a person you study for at least one minute, doing an advantage roll on any checks to either performance or deception checks I believe, and if your a college of whispers bard, you could use your mantle of whispers to suck out the very essence of a certain creature upon death, if you didn't have advantage before you do now, and honestly the way mantle of whispers reads you just are that person. If you've spected your bar properly, no real roll should be needed people should just know it's the target, obviously this will come with rolls but your golden making advantage rolls

My bard was lvl 3 and had plus 3 proficiency to persuasion and performance, with the proficiency double I was rolling19-26 like nothing,and I was an halfling, so halfling luck,and the lucky feat so I was rerolling every one and forcing any rolls not in my favor, this bard was an absolute beast

2026-09-05 07:00 Re: druid milk, I think in a number of cases the DM should decide in advance if a character can change sex as well as species, because I think a cis male druid should turn into a bull, not a cow. And I don't think milking that would go how they want.

Re: druid animal products A cow doesn’t just produce milk at will, it has to have had a calf first. As for eggs, I don’t believe the two hour time limit of wild shape would allow a chicken to produce an egg. The only thing that could possibly be viable is wool, but even then, idk how good the yield would be as it takes time for that fur to grow, I believe sheep are usually only shorn like once or maybe a few times a year. You then also need to process that wool before you’re even able to spin it into yarn, all of which requires specific equipment.

I think the moment it leaves your body it should revert to a humanoid ovum. Same with the wool, you shear it off and it turns into hair clippings - then you drop wildshape and all the hair is shaved off your body, including head and eyebrows.

It takes 26 hours for a chicken egg to form, you’d need to be a level 52 druid to stay in wild shape that long. Alternatively, you could calculate how your own menstrual cycle equates to that of a chicken and pop into wild shape at the exact moment you’re ovulating, which would allow you to get roughly one egg per month. It also raises the question: what happens to your byproducts once you leave wild shape then? Does your chicken egg revert to a humanoid ovum barely visible to the naked eye? As for milk, again, depending on how you wanna play it, either you or your cow form will have to have given birth recently in order to produce milk, which then may or may not revert into humanoid breast milk after a bit.

You gotta know what's in play to make things interesting and what's important enough to the core of the character you can't mess with it.

I had the same thoughts! I don't know if gender rules are outlined in polymorph. Though even if they do allow the characters to shift gender in addition to species, I agree with others that you also would have to give birth in order to produce milk, etc.

Some history for anyone interested: During the 90s, there were several cartoons that very obviously tried to recapture the TMNT phenomenon with various animal people shows: -Wild West C.O.W.-Boys of Moo Mesa (1992) [26 episodes] -Biker Mice from Mars (1993) [39 episodes] -SWAT Kats: The Radical Squadron (1993) [25 episodes produced by only 23 aired] -Street Sharks (1994) [40 episodes] -The Mighty Ducks (1996) [made by Disney, and well animated, 26 episodes] -Road Rovers (1996) [13 episodes] Despite them all having anthropomorphic characters, Biker Mice was by far the biggest furry bait. They were SO shirtless and SO muscular. Given that they're not well known now, none of them touched the original TMNT greatness (193 episodes).

That's what I'm saying. Not all cows are lactating all the time. And if this druid is a guy, is he transforming into a male cow? Or a female? I imagine if you could change your species you could change your gender while in wild shape but still- would have to be a recently pregnant cow

"Druids go missing in these parts." "Wow, I've never seen a druid before!" Generations pass and no one's the wiser. Eventually - the party's Druid gets captured, and the party has to go save them.
