Hey jake! How would you have other classes (like clerics, sorcerers, paladins, etc) work in Skaldova? Would they be bound to areas high in magic, or would they just not be able to exist at this time?

Are we Jumping directly into season 2 of Skaldova next week - or anything else you can tease for us? (Or not tease I guess)

Alec Johnson

Jake - now that the season is wrapped up, what were your favorite and least favorite parts of DMing? What stuff surprised you, and what went about the way you expected? Everyone else - whats your favorite type of cake?

Matt Gustavson

I have 2 questions 1. Will there be more high-level campaigns in the future—like level 12 and up? 2. This one’s for Caldwell: Would you ever consider playing a full caster? I feel like that kind of class really fits your playstyle.

Bonnie Green

Hey gang! I loved Skaldova. Now that you’ve done an all fighters campaign, will we see any other single class playthroughs? All bards, all rogues, all sorcerers, etc? Love your work, would love to hear Jake on 8 Bit Book Club one day! (Bonus question for Emily: have you read Gideon the Ninth?)

Creed

What kind of other factions are in skaldova? The setting is interesting I want to learn more about it.

Reed Lefler

What was your favorite Wikipedia rabbit hole that you fell down while researching during your world building? The attention to detail was incredible.

Jake Miller

Is the Star Wars RPG something you’d ever consider doing? I know you guys were doing some exploring of the Star Wars universe with watching the prequels, and I think it could be really fun to do Star Wars 5e (SW5E) and have your own Star Wars adventure 😎

Thomas Sullivan

Jake I know you mentioned that knights book you all read, was there anything else you drew inspiration from? Scaldova feels a lot like the bloodsworn trilogy.

Shane O’Neill

Do you guys plan on continuing doing skaldova or moving onto another small campaign for the time being?

chlo!

extra: what signs do u think the zoo crew has? bc to me boggy is the most leo to ever leo

Guy

Dear Jake, you crushed it. Were there any times this campaign that your plans were foiled by the Carnal Crew and you had to change plans?

h moon

Hi Guys! What have been your favorite and least favorite changes made in the 2024 edition of D&D?

Charlie looyen

If you had to bring one mechanic from dnd to real life, ie roll to hit, spell, hitpoints, familiars what would you choose

hannah

I really loved this campaign and the characters so much and I hope you return to this world at some point because I am really intrigued by the three gods and what we learned about them in the princess' castle. I'd love for Jake to speak a little more on the inspirations for Skaldova and what all four of you are most excited to explore in this world next!

Axyl and Olympia

How did each of your meet your partners and start dating? What’s your stories? ❤️

Drew Faber

What was it like playing with the new 2024 rules?? Will you continue using them for future games? I loved hearing an “oops all fighters” party have fun with weapon masteries and tactical mind, and the bastion system coming in at the end was very cool too!

KennyH

To the whole 2 Crew, what are you wanting to explore or most excited about for a future season of Skaldova? PS I still can't stop thinking about D&D court Chicago. Please bring the supreme crit back to the Midwest 💜

Jessyca Webb

Jake what has been your favorite part of DMing?

Dan Healey

As someone who is also running his first campaign, where did you pull your inspiration from for designing your world? Any unusual sources that gave your inspiration?

Jacob Peterson

Emily what commanders have you been running recently, are there any specific favorites of yours? Also have yall ever considered adding a playmat to the merch store? I'd get one in a heartbeat!

The Wizard Smudge

For all three of the lovely PCs: As someone who is obsessed with being able to create/decorate my home base in a video game, what do you think your character will be most excited about adding to their fort, and what do you think they will begrudgingly allow?

Gabriella Pilarski

Now that you have all DMed, how would you describe your different DM styles? What do you think are each of your strengths and differences?

a single hard-boiled egg

What's been your favourite dynamic encounter mechanic? Either to play in or to design!

Brett Dreher

Since there is always a John Elway in every universe (Established in 8BBC, so of course you wouldn’t know Jake), where is Bahumia’s and Eldermourne’s John Elways?

River

Any chance the bailiff Jack will do other genres of storytelling other than Game of thrones style? Btw loved every second of Skaldova! Amazing work!

Callie

Question for all, what kind of books have you guys been reading recently? What have been the favorites?

Jay Barber

Out of all of the smaller campaigns you’ve done so far, which one would you each like to return to most? Trinyvale, Twilight Sanctorum, Hot Boy Summer, Skaldova…

Maggie Schaller

Any mid-year NADDpod recommends/favorite things so far in 2025?

Al Tomkat

Jake, what did you learn from each of the other members DMing style that you took into your own experience DM?

3.14neapple

How long do you think you can keep Skaldova going? Clearly it’s set up for a season two, but do you think there will be multiple after that or will you end after just one or two more?

Carly Collette

Congrats on another wonderful season y’all! Now that we’ve seen all fighters, all monks, and all rogues, are there any other classes you would all consider playing at the same time?

KoboldB0i

This sweet little season was genuinely one of my favorites out of the menagerie of shows, Jake you did such a great job running the game. I feel like you would kick ass on 8-bit book club! But anyway, for the crew, how did it feel to not come up with solutions using magic? Was it tough to think outside of the box in a way of a fighter?

DorkRoll

Loved Skaldova, kudos to Jake on his DM debut! Do any of you see any through lines in the characters you've created across campaigns? If so, do you want to explore that more deeply in the future? Or do you want to break the mold in some way?

ADruidLifeForMe

if you founded a order of knights based on your own/your character's ideals, what would be its name/motto/symbols etc?

Wren Ash-Piper

Can we please get Jake and Caldwell into the dome? I want to see them on D20!

sdShine16

For Jake n Bake, the delicious debuting DM: As the last of the boobs to take up the role of DM, what is something you learned from each of your compatriots about leading a campaign? Did you have a major influence, or do you feel like you came into your own quickly?

stream doomsday diaries by emily axford

now that the lowly bailiff and occasional freelance justice jake has successfully DM’d his first (amazing) mini campaign, what is the likelihood that this will garner him more respect among the other high crit justices?

Elana Danielle

If you could create a dnd party of naddpod characters from across campaigns, who would be in your party? (Can be optimized for effectiveness, goofs, chaos, or anything else you want to optimize for)

Julian Johnson

Skip if it isn't good for this, but for Jake and Caldwell: what from the catalog of many projects and works that you have done would you be most excited or proud to have your child experience? Loved Skaldova and can't wait for more of the Carnal Crew!

VinDiagram

Question for Jake. How do you think the Hotspurs will change their style of play going forward?

JesterHat

Hey Jake (or, hell, someone wearing a Jake costume so good it's impossible to tell), What was your biggest surprise in planning/running the campaign? (E.g. something the players did, something you personally got out of it, etc etc). Really enjoyed listening, I think this was a Big W for you, and a Big L for all your haters (Murph).

Izzy

What is your favorite skaldova moment?

Weebologist Rick

For the whole squad: Now that everyone's DMed on the show, what's an idea that you had to leave on the "cutting room floor" that never made it into your campaigns that you regret leaving out?

Mackenzie M

And what’s everyone’s favorite pokemon?

Gabagooblin

For Emily, I loved the music in this season! The main theme was so evocative and reminded me of the Twin Peaks music- was that part of your inspiration?

Jessica Petra

Jake, is it possible that someone who looks remarkably like the Grinch, or hell, it could actually be the Grinch himself, will show up in Skaldova?

Cory Becker-Warren

What is it like as a DM managing a campaign where all of the PCs are the same class? Were there any things that you wanted to do but decided against because of this limitation? Were there things you felt uniquely lent itself to the story/puzzle-building because of this? Also, how did you all feel about running 5.5e? I’ve heard almost exclusively bad things about the new edition

Danny McMahon

This question is for "Do The Harlem Jake!", what were your major inspirations for the setting, sections of the dungeon, enemies, etc?

Tobias Shapinsky

What surprised Jake about his first time DMing and what was exactly as expected? When I first started DMing I definitely over prepared, and if seems like Jake was in the same boat. What did he learn about what stuff he needed to prep and what he didn't through the process of making Skuldova?

Kit

First of all, I was deeply obsessed with this campaign—kudos to all of y’all! Jake, Skaldova was extremely inspiring to me creatively—I always wanted to plan my own session after listening! I’m curious what YOUR inspirations were when planning these sessions? Any books? Music? Other fantasy properties? Same q for E, C, and M but about your PCs!

HAUNTEDSAGE4K

What is everybody’s favorite class to play in dnd and since everybody has been a DM now what is everybody’s favorite monster to run against the party? Also im planning a futuristic fantasy horror two shot in my own homebrewed world inspired by FF7 ,cyberpunk 2077 and lies of p , optional question ; would you guys play in my world and what characters would you create?

Kerry

There was a lot of mention of the books and literature that inspired Skaldova, were there any movies or tv shows that also lent some inspiration? While listening I often thought of how the descriptions and story fit with The Northman or The Green Knight.

DMCDawg

Emily (and everyone else too I guess), as a Final Fantasy fan and a player of Magic: The Gathering, are there any cards in the upcoming Final Fantasy Magic set that you are looking forward to building a commander deck around?

Glenn D AKA Mcdoogins

Question for Jake or anyone which aspects of this campaign are you excited to explore more? The grittiness, political intrigue, moral dilemmas? What parts of dnd in general interest you all most?

Jeremy

For Emily, did you ever finish Vita Nostra? Or read the sequel? The translation of the third one is coming out this month?

The Wizard Snoop

How was the transition to 5.5e/5e 2024/whatever this updated game is called? Do you think you'll be sticking to the new rules for future campaigns?

wick

Hi Jake and the Zu Crew, What are some of the biggest changes and challenges you experienced playing with the new system? It was really fun hearing everyone play Warriors in homage to Jake, but would you all be interested in exploring the system more moving forward? And if so what classes or sub-classes, or hell even mechanics, are you excited about?

Amanda

This isnt a question but PLEASE tell me Emily has seen the Kristen applebees dating game that just came out!! It’s called Hey Girly and it’s so beautifully written!

Dave 3D Art

Skaldova was wicked as hell, and I can't wait to listen to more. Excited to hear what's happening next in any case. With that being said Jake, how did it feel to complete the first section of this campaign? Are there any things that you may have regretted? Also, have any of you read ROM: Space Knight yet? I love that guy.

Yan Giroux

After the latest review of Star Wars episode 3, are you going to watch Rogue One and then continue onto episode 4,5 and 6 to finally complete Emily's training?

Brendan Reese

When was the original How The Grinch Stole Christmas children's book published? Good luck.

Rotem Cohen

Now that Jake has DMd are you going to go harder on him as balif because he should know better than to act as a little baby Jakey? Edit: oh sorry Jake

Twisting Deceit

Question for Jake! How did you feel about your experience for your first time DMing? Do you think you would want to do this more often? If so would you stick to Skaldova, or do you have ideas for other settings? I really enjoyed Skaldova and would love to hear more of the world! P.S. I thought you did an amazing job as DM!!

thatoneguy

Hi Jake and friends. Skaldova has a lot of Dark Souls elements in it and I do love details from the cutting room floor so my questions for all of our Dungeon Managers is what's a popular thing (characters/bosses, challenges) from another piece of media that inspired you that you just couldn't transfer over to the DnD system?

Suzieqred

Could we get a Caldwell rendering of Zudy's face/tattoos?!?

JC

Jake, I believe in the original talks of this campaign is was planned to be much shorter, but in the end it was 12 episodes (thank Pelor it was longer cause it was great.) So, what was the original idea for this campaign's story and progression and how did it change as you all played?

Jamie Matthews

Emily, I LOVED Welly's poem for Fae! You are so lyrical in the way you phrase things. Did Welly's sonneteering/poetry inspire any music we might see later on?? 👀

Rebecca

I just wanted to thank you guys for making such a great show. You’ve literally changed my life for the better and I’m endlessly grateful for that. Having said that, which style of socks do the Carnal Crew wear? Thigh highs? Ankle? The world is dying to know.

3 Minions in a trench coat

Can finally ask this question to all 4 of you (great job on Skaldova Jake, can’t even pretend to razz you about it) How do you organize your DM notes? Is there an app or program you use? Keeping my plans in order and being able to find what I need is my biggest hurdle in my campaigns. What advice do you all have?

AllForNone

What mechanically would you want to improve on or implement in further seasons in regard to the more grounded fantasy setting? I’m experimenting with making a oneshot system set in a similar setting and I’m curious what your rose for that kinda gameplay would be.

VinDiagram

What are your thoughts on DnD going forward, do you think more folks are gonna steer clear of WotC?

Laura

For Jake: what surprised you most about dm-ing and what did you like most/least about it? (Great job on Skaldova! it was beautifully done 💕) for the group: what are you looking forward to? (Life/work/play anything!)

bekahbooks

Jake now that you have DMed for the first time. Your descriptive scenery skills were top notch. What surprised you as being harder to prep vs what came to you easily? Did you find yourself having to make any major edits on the fly? Great job with Skaldova and we look forward to hearing more from the carnal crew!

Austin Gumbiner

Whaddup 2 crew! Day 1 listener, probably 4th or 5th time writer, but idk for sure. Looking back over the years of Naddpod, what have been some of the ways that you've grown? As a player, dm, improviser, etc.? And looking forward, what are some things that you hope to grow/grow more in the coming months/years? Absolutely love you guys! Without you realizing it, you all have been there for me when I've been at my lowest of lows, and I hope you realize the profound effect you and your work has on people!

Kyle Corbett

Skaldova is an “oops” all fighters style campaign for each naddpod member of your were to setup eve a mini campaign what ooops all same class style campaign would you setup for your fellow players?

Vincent Wood

For the highly respected bailiff and DM Jake: I feel like everyone started off really well behaved and then the final episode was the most intense goof sesh which is a true mark of respect for your DMing - do you think you’ll place more goof setups in your world building in future campaigns or is the plan to continue to play it super straight and let the carnal crew riff

DMCDawg

Jake, your first outing as a DM was a wild success. What do you think was the hardest part, and what about the experience surprised you the most?

Zachary Armstrong

Other than raw talent and baller energy, do you have any advice for how to get into character and to really honour the motives of your character?

James M

Jake and the carnal crew - what was each of your best moments through the campaign? Also (the most important question) if you were to incorporate the GRINCH into season 2 Jake how would you do it?

itsCharmamber

@Jake! I thoroughly enjoyed listening to you learn to play to becoming a full on DM and feel like I've finally dived into D&D because you as a new player made it so much more approachable. Outside of making everyone I know and love listen to NADDPOD, what advice do you have for players who may be intimidated by the concept of DND?

Alex K.

Hey gang, been loving the podcast for years! Any chance you will review more 80s or 90s cartoons? Loved the discussion for the Donkey Kong and Super Mario shows, and the world needs more of your thoughts. Maybe checking out some episodes of the Sonic Cartoon. Again hope everyone is doing well and thanks for the years of entertainment.

Skootsby

Dearest Baby Jake, what are some unexpected lessons you had to learn on the fly as you were DMing?

Eliza

You guys always seem to have the perfect balance in your characters' personalities. Do you all purposefully try to make them unique, or do you find that balance comes more naturally as you all are already friends who have known each other for a while? Also, amazing job, Jake! Your ability to narrate a story and paint a picture was awesome, and I loved hearing the prewritten descriptions you had for certain moments. Seriously amazing stuff.

TingleToppleToff

Now that you have been running TTRPGs for years, and have divided your attention to variety shows around similar dorkhoods, what is next? You are all creatives, and the yearning for new expressions is self-evident. Money being attached to livelihood and creativity is the doublest of edged swords. What continues to motivate you? What do you wish, for NADDPOD?

Amelia

You've done Whoops! All Monks and now Whoops! All Fighters. They've been so fun! What's next for a whole party of one class? Would you make it a series?

MailManMan

For the most recent Game Master, Jonk: What was your personal favorite moment from running the game? Does any specific choice you made or reaction from the players stand out in your memory? Thanks for the amazing first season of what I hope will be a continued amazing adventure :)

Colby Greer

What's next? Any chance we see the Triplets sometime soon?

Professor Hen

@Caldwell tag every member of the Carnal Crew as Pokémon

Adam!!!!!

instead of asking you all "what's next?" i'm going to ask, what's not next? are there any ideas for characters/campaigns/settings you've had that you've thrown out for now or rejected?

surprise slug

fuck marry kill: grinch, fred flinstone, sebulba

Dan Callery

What do your DM screens look like?

Greyson Henry

How do you balance dm'ing multiple campaigns at once? I'm dm'ing one campaign and about to start another, and I'm worried about accidentally giving more love to my new campaign than my ongoing one. How do you keep a good balance and prioritize both stories equally? Any advice?

Jamie Matthews

I think the Cypher implied there were 4 of the same letter so probably Hammdamm :)

3 Minions in a trench coat

What is the history of Naddpod? Where did the idea come from, how did it end up being the four of you, can we get the origin story?

Nicolas R

Jake, a gorilla is going to attack you, but you can hire a team of lv.1 fighters to protect you for $10,000 each. How many fighters do you hire?

Magpie Supply

Long time listener first time askerer- if all of your characters from all of your naddpod campaigns (or however many characters from whatever campaigns you'd like to talk about) were playing mermaids, what color would their tails be? (The only color they cant have is baby pink- that's my tail color)

Zack Tripp

I believe you all said you were planning on continuing to do some shorter arcs (like this great season 1 of Skaldova) instead of any long campaigns for the immediate future. If that's the case, are we maybe going to see some more of Twilight Sanctorum or Trinyvale perhaps in the near future? Also, I believe it was thrown out previously that there might be an epilogue of the C1 crew in the astral plane after C3. Is that still a possibility?

Help_I_Can’t_Sleep

Question for everyone: what is your favorite part about playing DnD with each other? Listening to your show has gotten me through a LOT of stuff (mostly mental health) and listening to your joy and laughter while playing has brought a lot of light back into my life, so I was curious what about it you all loved. Love you all! Wren (They/them)

Ashe

Is there any chance that we will be going back to cinnamon with more pathfinder... Or are we possibly Twilight Sanctorum this spooky season, or maybe get the Boyz back for the summer? I love the podcast and when you announced you were doing shorter arcs I got very excited to go back and see Mavid get another spider bed and get some flesh for Greg! 😜

Tyler Willits

Jake, loved your campaign. Great worldbuilding and just really everything. How did your preparation for each session change from the first session to the last? Did you get looser as you went or focus on different things once you got the feel for DMing?

AllForNone

For Jake: What are some of your initial ideas for encounters or scenes that were cut as the episodes continued?

The Broox

Are you all aware of the Medstar Duology? You made multiple jokes about The Pitt set in the Galaxy Far Far away but there already exists a pair of novels about just that. They are no longer canon but they are exactly what you described.

thatedgydrowwarlock

I know this isn't Skaldova (I'M SO SORRY) but Murph, would you ever think about turning Eldermourne or Bahumia (or any of your settings) into campaign setting books? I would love to set a campaign in Eldermourne if that would be okay. Sorry again for the off topic question!

David García Ramírez

How the hell do you describe everything so well? I could close my eyes and feel the castle around me. Do you have some kind of guide or something? As a DM myself I could use some of this tools. Also, have you ever thought about expanding your content to other languages? You have a lot of fans in México an all of central and south America

Spore Zealot

Will new campaigns/seasons use 5e2024 moving forward? What 2024 Fighter subclass will Jake play next?

Matteo Damiano

Does makeing this podcast after so many years, give you more joy then when you started? Are you prod of what you have accomplished so far? I hope you are.

David Kotzer

Loved Skaldova! Jake killed it DMing. For Jake: Since you're starting by working from a module, did you find you were relying more on pre-written material or a homebrew extension of that? For the Buds: If continuing in the campaign means being exposed to more magic, would each of you consider multi-classing into different magic classes? And which would you choose?

Jack M

Which wild places of nature in the real world do you most associate with some of the characters y’all have played? Can be a mountain, a forest, a lake, a national park, whatever wild place in the real world you think represents a PC or NPC.

Alex W

this is mainly for emily but can apply to everyone: how was it adapting your play style for a low magic setting difficult? did you miss the spells?

nathan peggs

Jake- if you got to be a player in Skaldova, rather than the DM, what sort of character would you have chosen to play as?

Darkrisky

This question is for Jake. Hardwon got a Magic Initiate in season one but only used the spell Shield. Technically Hardwon should have had two cantrips as well. Did you choose them and just never use them? What were they? If this was a miss, what cantrips do you think you would take now that you’ve played more?

Goose Toes!

What's your most & least comfortable voice to do for a character/NPC?

aloox

Who are each of the Carnal Crew's top artists in their Spotify wrapped? (Or if you're listening in a carnal corner, *unwrapped* 😏)

Westheimer

Jack, you have a lot of evocative descriptions touching many senses. How much of those descriptions were written, and how much were on the fly? There were a good few descriptions that felt impossible to prepare for, but had the same immaculate delivery as pre-written lines.

Mike Conroy

Looking to get our Brand New Big Boy DM Jake’s Take on this: As my groups perma-dm I love almost every aspect of the game - coming up with interesting plot hooks and set pieces, creating fun magic items for my characters, and home brewing cool and unique monsters. But I always am so caught up in keeping our sessions from falling apart that I forget to roleplay the NPCs beyond basic introductions. Skaldova had some amazing NPC interactions with the Carnal Crew with a perfect ratio of NPC input to letting the PC’s take the reins. How did you plan out or think about how to roleplay NPCs and were you consciously trying to balance their moments with those of the PC’s, I’m always looking for new advice on how to improve for my players!

Certainly Not Brent

As someone enchanted by Jake's descriptions of creatures and environments this season: can you share any descriptions of monsters or otherwise that we DIDN'T get to hear? PS I think Jake would be a great guest on 8 Bit Book Club

DM Joe

Any chance you guys will venture into Pathfinder again? I really liked the depth of Pathfinder combat and how the various skills seem to give to your characters more options! Just a humble Pathfinder player, hoping to see my fav TTRPG players spend more time with the system! Thanks for the many hours of entertainment!

Walter Lajara

How do you think your characters differed in playing versus how you imagined them to be in the planning stage? Were there aspects of them that you dropped or changed intentionally or did changes just happen organically in game? Most importantly, was Zudrick ALWAYS supposed to be the whole package under the armor?

Eric Wills

First of all, great campaign Jake! Love how entire two crew’s DM styles are different and good in their own ways. Real question: How do y’all like the D&D 2024 rules? Y’all gonna use them in your campaigns going forward? What changes don’t you like and will be ignoring in favor of the 2014 rules and homebrew?

Hakari

Question for Caldwell: Have you considered running a campaign for the group within an existing world from an anime/manga? Like, Jujutsu Kaisen, Delicious in Dungeon, One Piece, etc.?

Shane C

Question for Jake: Skaldova seems to be (somewhat) a cold place. Do you think the Grinch lives there?

Goose Toes!

What is the most "not technically a sandwich" that you're willing to defend is indeed a sandwich?

Blubread00

Jake now that you have DM’ed do you feel comfortable playing a spell caster for a short campaign, or is it still fighters for you?

James M

Jake and the carnal crew - what was each of your best moments through the campaign? Also (the most important question) if you were to incorporate the GRINCH into season 2 Jake how would you do it?

Matthew Elias

Fist off well done Jake! You have a fantastic way of describing your world. Not sure if this is a question or more of a want but would the 4 of you play Baldur's gate and run the band of boobs? It would be fun to see how they would translate to BG3.

cc

how wonderful is it that you’ve all dm’d!! how does that feel! knowing jake started off hardly playing dnd to, down the line, dming an awesome campaign! now that you are all quite accustomed to dnd, is their anything else you want to explore within its confines, or something that you’ve been wanting to try for a while? or are you all hungry for something new?

Phillipe Bosher

I mean, I'm sure someone else has already asked this, but simply: what's next?? Skaldova was so much fun and excellent to listen to, and I'm already excited for finding out who's DMing next, and what's the setting etc.!

Barpo Goodbarrel Bard-Barian

For the dm Jim: were the new 2024 rules less intimidating than 5e? How do you think they compare? What surprised you the most about the new changes? And do you see yourself drawn to any new fighter subclasses?

PG Lusk

Question for JAKE RELEASE! Now that you've been a DM yourself, (and did an incredible job), how do you think it will influence your character creation and play going forward?

Zachary Armstrong

For Wife Worm and Pigeon Skywalker. With the NADDPOD Down Under 2023 tour starting a trend of Australian tours, Critical Role 2025 and DropOut Improv 2026. Which of your Dimension 20 characters would you think best fit the Australian vibe? Also, Murph will be allowed out of his dark editing room for a Dimension 20 Aus tour.

Nicolas P.

Hey sweeties! As summer is fast approaching, what are your favorite summertime foods and activities? Ice cream by the pool is an all time favorite of mine. Love the show!

Paul Westmore

I loved the campaign and I just wanted to share an amazing character moment that I saw. All throughout the campaign, as soon as someone went down or got separated, or was launched from a catapult... Zudrick of the Murder was so quick to write them off and wall off the connection with them. Like when Boggy first went down in the pit, Zudrick pulled Wellie away saying Boggy is gone, we need to steel ourselves and move on.... BUT! Towards the end, as the carnal crew escapes the keep, and Boggy and Lyla are not making it ... Without hesitation Zudrick loses himself and his previously hardened/ironed heart and launches himself to go on a rescue mission.... Just thought it was such a genuine character growth moment that made Zudrick all the more real and lovable. Y'all make these characters come to life in a way that is just so compelling and fun and real. Love y'all. And Jake, you fucking nailed it, you borderline waxed poetic with this campaign, just so vivid and beautiful storytelling/story "guiding"; absolutely incredible job.

stream doomsday diaries by emily axford

alternative question: has someone let murph know yet that “@ chmurph is me” is no longer an accurate statement as his instagram is back to“@ murphaxmurph”? when will he finally address his constituents about this?

Brett the Breton of High Rock

For Jake the eventual Cake king, If you did another chapter with the Zu crew would you be open to having potential guest PC’s for short arcs?

The Crit Crew

This question is for Murph, you mentioned you’d be excited running a Resident Evil type of campaign or mini campaign, have you given anymore thought to that? I feel like you’d absolutely crush that and it would be really satisfying to have you run a horror themed survival campaign. Also huge props to Jake as Skaldova was wildly well run and entertaining and I’m excited for it to continue!

The Other Jake

Hey Jake it's Jake. My question is what was your favorite part of writing this campaign and whats it like being the coolest person on NADDPOD?

Mike Y

Jake, why are you so good at DM'ing? Come to think of it why are you ALL so good at it? We patiently await your answer.

Kiki

Master Hurwitz - would love to know how you used the Sunless Citadel to help you prep! My DM ran the module a few years ago and it was way different. I didn’t recognize anything besides the main hook of the children going missing. Thanks to the Zu Crew for another great adventure

The one they call Barlo

Just how bad does Cat Manor smell?! Does Caldwell leave with bleeding eyes after each recording? :D P.S. hate the show x

Kyle Conrad

It was really awesome of you to let this "Jack" guy have a Guest DM spot on your podcast for a bit - so cool to see you guys offering exposure to up and comers in the TTRPG space! Can't wait to see what he does next! Question for Jake (and anyone else who wants to answer it): What was it like creating and running your own campaign? Did you ever feel like you hadn't prepped enough? Trying to work on a campaign of my own and I just feel bogged down with world building.

Matthieu

loved loved LOVED this campaign, as a first time DM you did an incredible job Jake! I was reading the locked tomb book series by Tamsyn Muir in between episodes and just kept getting biiiig Emily vibes from these book, so I need to know if she's read it/is aware of it!

nollie pollie ollie

Realistically out of all campaign PCs who would win in a battle royale opa Fortnite style

Haybale

What poster(s) would each member of the Carnal Crew hang in their new bedrooms in the keep?

clerby

To Emily: how did you come up with the idea and perfectly capture the lust of a sheltered lesbian who has never made out with someone? you did a good job and i appreciate the representation lol!

Ryan Janes

Jake, now that you’re a season veteran dungeon master. Is there any plans to begin rolling in more magic in future stories? Has the 2 crew read up on the new 2024 rules on magic use and the “one spell slot per turn”? I believe it is designed to clarify some of the more complex corners of magic wielding in DnD but it does pose complications to things like reaction spells. Subclasses that grant spellcasting get buffed in the new ruleset. Is this also a possibility?

A Talking Dog

Caldwell, did you have any unused ideas for members of Boggy's Bud's who didn't make the cut? And other ways those Buds might have met their untimely ends?

Dylan H

I've noticed some fun new sound effects/design in the last few episodes! What inspired that, and is it something you might add to other campaigns too?

BJ Louise

I have to know — does Jake know just how much everyone LOVED getting to experience him DMing his first NADDPOD campaign? It was so freaking awesome and I can’t wait for more. How long have you known that you wanted to DM and long did you put into planning before you felt ready?

han!!!!

jake, looking back to the start, is there anything you would’ve done differently from the get go if you knew what you know now?

Amanda Dick

I NEED the whole 2crew DM-ed by Brennan....the shennanigans! The goofs! Unimaginable!

wonderfell

How did Jake come up with black lace? Why did Jake pick “black lace” for its name? Was black lace inspired by anything from another fictional setting, or did it come purely from Jake’s (genuinely) beautiful mind? Hoping we get to see more Skaldova in the future! Thank y’all so much!

BahHumDoug

For Jake and maybe Emily by the time this goes out, it’s cool that you’re blogging, but have y’all seen some of the issues with substack platforming nazis and white supremacists? If not, I’d start with the Atlantic article and then read up on Substack’s disappointingly insufficient response. I’d love if you addressed that. If substack actually improved, or if you switch platforms, I’d happily sub to your stuff! Love y’all.

ryzelle

i think emily has recommended gideon the ninth on the podcast before!

Evan Cordero

What's up next? Both for Skaldova and the podcast as a whole?

Ted Orbach

Have any of you seen the 1996 film Dunston Checks In and if not can you do a mixed bag review of it?

Ariel Feola

For Jake (and the crew) - i loved all of the detail you had about the writing on the castle, especially salsoa salnu (sp? 😅) and was wondering what the language of the gods looked like! Is it runic like giant or more ornate like elvish? (Might be asking in the hopes of one day getting a tattoo). Thanks y’all, amazing season and I can’t wait to see what comes next!

Robert Stegmann

For Jake "The Cake" Hurtwitz, any plans on playing a wizard in a future campaign? You've already played characters with spells, so is it time to play "the guy that blows people up"?

Patrick Ryan

Solid season of Skaldova. Was a blast all the way through. Any thoughts on the gang trying Pathfinder some more?

Rayde

Hey there, what's some advice can you give for DMs to help weave characters' personal stories into your world and making them a part of the adventure?

Rotem Cohen

For the crew as players are the shorter campaigns making you excited about other ideas for characters? And for murph after running only longer campaigns are you excited about ideas for shorter ones?

Mo J

Hi carnal crew! My husband and I work in Catholic high schools, and our students have been (rightfully) obsessed with the Grinch all year since discovering Halloween is Grinch Night. They're all very nerdy, amazing students, which has led us to a dorky theology question: do you think the Grinch committed a mortal sin, and will he go to hell for it? Would love to hear Emily's take coming from her theology background!

Jake de Medeiros

Hey Jake, just wondering what lessons you’ve learned about building combat encounters for future seasons? It can be hard to keep up with the damage output of a party of fighters, but do you think this gave you the confidence to throw tougher enemies at the party in the future?

milo

What do you feel was the hardest part about playing a low magic campaign after coming off of such magic heavy ones prior?

J.T.

Jake you severely undersold The Beekeeper movie to the rest of the crew. It’s actually a pretty entertaining flick where the bad guys all get brutally murdered by Jason Statham, a *literal* beekeeper. Yeah, you conveniently brushed over how Statham is actually a beekeeper in the movie and makes honey.

The one they call Barlo

Another for all you lovelies. What NPC have you wanted to kill the most but not done so? (Dennie excluded)

ryzelle

hello 2 crew!! so nice to see a high fantasy/low-magic campaign from you all! what fantasy tropes did you enjoy incorporating the most, and are there any more you wish you had gotten to include? personally, i was a big fan of welly’s sonnets :)

nandrusin

You've mentioned them a bit before, what were your inspirations for the World/Story?

J.T.

Jake your DM voice is incredible and I want you to read me bed time stories every night. Gemma doesn’t realize how lucky she is.

jaydon

what other charecter groups could we expect to see again or will we start something new now that skaldova is over. id love to see a return of c1 charecters

Blair the bugblair barblairian

Jake, I absolutely adored your turn as a DM with Skaldova. Despite it being your first time it seemed to come naturally to you. What surprised you about DMing and how do you think your experience will affect the way you play PCs going forward?

T-Priest

For the group! So I know you all (minus jenk) play video games. Have you guys considered playing a baulders gate 3 campaign together? It's a very friendly game for beginner video game players, being turn based combat. Would love to see you guys run the campaign and see what decisions you all make.

Nick Neverman

For the whole crew, now that we’ve gotten every combination of DM & PCs, which trio do you all feel is the most chaotic at a table together? Ps. Cake Hurwitz you absolutely crushed it with your first campaign, can’t wait to hear more!

Thomas Witholt | Hermit's Mirror

So many good questions here already! I was curious about the use of all fighters for the campaign (like all rogues for Twilight and the monk break in Season 2). Is that a theme for the shorter campaigns just to keep gameplay mechanics simpler? I don’t know if I missed a short rest where you explained that but it’s fun to think about how you orient gameplay or even story to the strengths (fighting) + challenges (skills) of that kind of campaign.

Hunter Roberts

For everyone: When are we getting a campaign module? I have been dying to run a NADDPOD campaign since I listened to Campaign 1 when it originally came out, and I want to do it perfect justice the way Murphy wrote it!

ryzelle

jake, you mentioned you have been reading a lot of poetry lately and i see its effects on your beautiful descriptions this season! where did you draw inspiration from for your writing style?

Eric Craddock

This question is for Murph, but feel free to chime in! I am currently the DM for my Wife and three of our friends, playing in a completely homebrew setting, however I have found it difficult to continue to hide the twists and turns of the upcoming story from my wife, with whom I love to brainstorm ideas. How much do you, Murph, collaborate with you, Emily, on narrative beats for your characters prior to the sessions being played? Thanks for all the hard work you all put in, huge fan!

han!!!!

what character from the world of shows/movies you guys reference a lot would you most want to bring to a summer barbecue

Matthew R

How do you maintain your passion for D&D after so many years of performative play?

Emm

Huge +1 on this!!! We need more Mavid!! Best Naddpod character hands down

alli

what’s a food you wish you could cook on a campfire but would be way too difficult and impossible if you tried?

LittleLad

Question for Emily, I am always impressed with how naturally it feels like your characters evolve i.e Welly’s movement away from sonnets and shifting view on the gods. How do you know what your characters would think in the moment, are there things you do before sessions to get into their headspace?

Barney the Monk

Got a question for Emily: I’ve heard you talk about waking up at silly hours of the morning and doing certain routines to help yourself fall asleep. Could you elaborate? I too will often wake up at 3:30 or so and have trouble getting back to sleep! Curious to know what works for others!

Trey

Not Skaldova related, but would you all consider playing a short campaign using Daggerheart? Also what a fantastic job Jake I love the world you created, it feels like such a breath of fresh air in the d&d landscape.

Its_Ven

Never has a question unrelated to me hit me so hard 💀

Patch

You guys have dabbled in homebrew subclasses, do you think you'll ever play any homebrew classes? I'm particularly fond of the Investigator by Mage Hand Press

Lauren Davis

What is Emily reading these days?

han!!!!

you guys reference a ton of shows/movies/games— from all of them, one character will do everything in their power to kill you, and another will do everything in their power to protect you. what combo of characters are you picking?

Amanda Pruitt

Jake I just wanna tell you, you did such an amazing job with this story and I would love to see you DM a full campaign some day! I hope you see this! If you were to do a full campaign, would you continue with Skaldova or would you create a new world?

Camden Jones

Jake, Murph, and Caldwell: How did you all come up with the names for your campaign settings?

Peter S.

Hi! Question for first-time GM Jake, maybe two questions in one. How much of the overall material for the campaign was from the published module? You wrote a lot of description text for the campaign, how much of it haven't you used in the actual games? thanks, and kudos for the running the campaign.

Melissa 'Mj' Fordos

Hello two crew! I loved Skaldova and all the world building and especially learning more about the Age of Stories. "While I breathe, I hope" really resonated with me, and so my question is rather simple: Jake - how do you spell "sal soa sal nu"? because it has been driving me crazy and I'd low key like it tattooed (despite saying at one point I'd never be the sort to get a quote inked on me 😆🙈) Much love, as always! - Mj 💜

hobblelobble

Curious to know what your favorite home-game bits are! Give me all the goof lore please <3

Critney Spears (Oops I did it again)

Hi everyone! This is a questions for DM Jake: What's it like being on the other side of the screen? Did you practice on friends or do a oneshot off mic to prepare? You did amazing, love y'all ♥️♥️ happy pride🎉🌈

VJ K

Jake! You did way too good for your first time DMing! How do you feel?

Jackblackthirsttrap

First of all Jake, congrats on an amazing campaign!! Can’t wait for chapter 2. Unrelated question: Have y’all heard about the magic the gathering final fantasy set? Any plans to buy the commander stuff… and maybe play a game livestreamed…?

Critney Spears (Oops I did it again)

Question for first time DM Jake: apart from Pinterest images of stone, what were some weird research rabbit holes you ended up in?

Busang

What are the demographics of this podcast? You always joke about no one understanding your aged jokes but is that actually true?

Dungeon Depths

For Murph, Emily, and Caldwell– What is your favorite part of the world and lore that Jake has crafted? For Jake– What was your favorite piece of the world building you did, and was it inspired by anything in particular?

Critney Spears (Oops I did it again)

Question for Murph: Tabitha and Zudric can't date... is it because Tabitha and Salem have an extremely toxic on and off relationship?!

froggy

oo...maybe how was everyone's experience with the 2024 rules? how did it differ from past plays, what are you looking forward to with the 2024 rules? i am so majorly excited for the bastion -- a home base i could fast travel to between adventures? i hope there are more pets and reoccurring pals that we get to see with the bastion!!

Nadia the Dice Druid

Jake, If you were to create your own PC for the world of Skaldova, what would that look like? Also, to all, has anyone considered doing a desert setting campaign? Some of the newest material on the Griffon’s Saddlebags II includes things like the sorcerer subclass desert soul and I’ve seen a monk class called way of the desert rose. I know I’d love to see interesting and new things like that implemented. There also lots of cool mechanics you can do within the desert especially if traveling is from oasis to oasis or like that quick delta/fertile lands to harsh desert waste land transition.

Ashe

They did play for an extremely short amount of time on a Patreon stream one time...well extremely short for baldurs gate 3...but I have 1600 hrs in it...I may have a problem. ;P

Totally Offside

Question for the crew: Now that you've all DMed at least one campaign, which PCs would you like to see team up from the extended NADDPOD universe?

Evan Johnson

Hey guys, no particularly deep or relevant question from me, I would simply like to know each of your cringiest/most awkward memories from high school or college. please oh please inject that sweet, pure cringe directly into my veins. thank you.

Patrick B

To Brian “Murph” Murphy: are there any plans, loose or otherwise, for campaign 4?

Robert Z.

Congratulations to Jake on a great job with Skaldova! This question is open to everybody: since all of you have DMed now, what are your favorite aspects of each other’s DMing styles?

rikky

Q for everyone: If you were to make a multiverse adventuring party with previous PCs from all different campaigns what characters would you all pick to play together??

G.X. Barnett

Hey Jake, congratulations on a stellar DM’ing debut. I think you’ve found an approach that is all your own and I really enjoyed it. If we can describe styles: Murph might be described as a tactician, Caldwell as an absurdist, Emily as a composer, Aabria as a director, Brennan as a lifeguard, and so on. After 12 episodes and countless hours prepping how would you describe your style?

picsofish

Congrats on completing the first season of Skaldova! 🌹🦣🌹🦣🌹🦣 🛶 For Jake - what unexpected details or set dressings did the Zu Crew hone in on that made you rethink parts of a session / the season as a whole? As a DM I am always trying to lean into my players ideas while keeping them balanced with my own lore and intentions. Sometimes beautiful ideas can come from the strangest places 🌭🐂 🐠 For Welly's Fellies - If you were a nefarious, scheming Fish Baron of ill-repute, what would your horrid yet thematic Fish Baron name be? Bonus points if your Fish Baron has their own Swordfish-like aesthetic so as to make flavored quips and dastardly puns 🗡🐡 - Much love from Benji* 💜🦐 [*= Founder of the Skaldova Mammoth Truther Association, Lover of Fantasy Moons Depicted With Eerie Smiling Faces , Roller of 2s ]

Alex Roddy

Question for the party- did you all have backup characters- and if so- are there any you are willing to share?

Robin Dawson

Question for everyone: The Triplets arrive in Skaldova and find that their magic doesn't work. The Jet Blue has already left, so they can't just go home. What do they do?

Josh Owl

Question for Everyone: if the 4 of you got to design your own Bastion together, what kind of personalized room would each of you add to it?

Ganpan14O

Question for the players, as well as potentially Jake if he feels like chiming in: In the future are any of you considering multi classing? Could we perhaps see a Swashbuckler Rogue Boggy, Swarmkeeper Ranger Zudrick, or Wild Magic Sorcerer Welly, with those last two being as the party collects more magic?

Fredrik V

Question for the whole party, what is each character's favorite yoga pose?

rikky

When are you guys planning on playing a grinch campaign? ◡̈

Perpetual Wizard

For Jake mostly probs, but all can jump in - how did you find playing a low magic campaign, when much of dnd tends towards the magical? Did you ever feel frustrated/unsure about character choices/encounters with this limitation in place? (Ps. Truly mad about the season and have been feeling pretty inspired to run a gritty/goofy low magic campaign myself)

Erica H

For Murph: my husband and I like to run one-shots for each other, but I'm still a pretty rookie DM and sometimes combat feels boring when it's just one-on-one battle. Especially because he made an almost unhittable character so it often feels like it's just his turn multiple times in a row. Do you have any ideas for interesting encounters for one player? I would like him to feel scared for once. P.S. Jake, you did an amazing job with Skaldova and the crew made some top-notch PCs!

JumpTrash

question for everyone (but maybe mostly jake), will you ever return to the NADDPOD youtube channel? I understand that the long distance nature of the pod with jake being in new york and everyone else in cali makes getting together to record very difficult but as someone who struggles with ADHD i found the visual podcast to be super helpful in regardss to my focus for the 3 episodes of dungeon court y'all recorded! <3

Ed Wynn Reaching Climax

I love the worldbuilding in Skaldova. Will we see some bard/skalds in future seasons? Or huge half-naked berserkers with dual hand-axes, painted blue with beads braided into their beard? Asking for a friend.

Riley LeDrew

What an amazing season, I've been addicted to Skaldova since the first episode. Q for the Crew: Do you think you'll multi-class next season or stay on the pure fighter path? If so, what class? Q for DM Jake: What was the most unexpected thing the players did this season? (PS Fantastic descriptive writing, I could listen to them all day) Quick bonus Q for all: Do you guys think you'll keep rotating DM's for each "Season" of Naddpod going forward? I'd love to see more of our Dungeon Docent.

hannah

naddpod has been such a support to me over the past couple of years and navigating my early 20s, what got you guys through the hard times when you were figuring everything out?

SockRat

To the 2 crew: Has there been any type of media (movies, TV shows, music, etc.) recently that made you all think "this gives me the perfect idea for a campaign/character"?

hannah

emily: have you always been so cool and whimsical or did you have to practice that…asking for a friend

Sulaiman Kazi

Not so much a campaign question but for Jake, and any other spurs fans in the crew, what was that night in Bilbao like for you?

Lexi H

If you had to marry (and live the rest of your life in partnership with) any character from the SW prequels, who would it be and why? (And if they kinda suck - could you fix them?)

Rebecca Talisman

Jake, huge congratulations on finishing this arc of Skaldova! It's been such a joy to experience this world, and I hope we get to visit again. For Caldwell: How do you always know such good animal and nature facts? (Shimmering bees!)

Tykora

With the revelation that william shits is alive how do you plan to settle the age old conflict of "there can only be 1"?

Sneakyserpent 64

For Murph: given the ending of season 1, do you feel more inspired to further Zudric/the muder's backstory and to work with Jake to develop a plot tie-in related to Zuddy like how Welly and Boggy seem to have

yeow

Jake: What has been the inspiration for Skaldova and the world around the Zu Crew? I’m getting a Dark Souls/Bloodborne vibe, and I’m here for it. Your storytelling and DMing has been amazing so far and I can’t wait to hear more from you and the gang!

Iain Broadfoot

I'm always interested in the push and pull of the players and the GM in fleshing out the world. I'd love to hear about what lore bits were concrete from the start and what came up more through in-game choices.

Leith H.

For everyone: What are the best pizza toppings

For emily: Is it more that Welly falls head over heels for every woman she meets in the campaign as part of her character or is it an Emily found this to be really funny and needed an excuse to throw back to the carnal corner?

Kiwa

Maximilian von Aderkas

Are we gonna see a map of skaldova released? The community begs to know the location of each and every carnal corner.

David Stavis

HOW did Jake as a first time DM and NON-GAMER do such an incredible job of world building? With Murph we know what his creative influences are and that they are legion, but with Jake the discourse is more about how little media context he has in the fantasy and game genre. Other than, like, game of thrones. How did Jake get so beefed up with creative ideas and concepts that he was able to output one of my new favorite settings and stories in all of tabletop?

Brody Sargent

(All): How would all the previous player characters (All Campaigns) do on a dating show like the Bachelor or Love Island? Who would be eliminated early and who could make it to the end?

NonExistentPadre

Question for everyone- how do y’all give characters (NPCs and all the PCs for each campaign) distinct personalities to differentiate them from one another? Is there a certain process y’all do to embody the characters? Should I have been a theatre kid back in high school? 😭 Much love from CT!!

Kyle the Chaotic Stupid Wolf

For Murph: I am DMing a one-shot turned campaign about kobolds that serve under a teenage green dragon. They have come to a part where they've discovered a flyer for a kobold pro wrestling company, Kobold Fight Club or KFC. On a scale from 1-10, how interested would you be in playing a pro wrestling kobold? The champion is modeled after Goldust named Crystál. Also, fucking great job on the season, Jake!

Justhappytoplay

Jake: As a first time DM, did you find it difficult at all trying to balance encounters? Did you get any advise from the others on how to go about it?

Jenna Jones

For Murph: can you talk about your Titan Takedown appearance? Love y’all!!! Ps I recently adopted a dog and named her Moonshine 🍄🌙

Alec Krance

Jake - Are the hooks you've had in your campaign pre-planned or discovered for you from session to session. Such as the two oars being connected to traveling to another land. What does that process look like for you? Bonus question Murph - what class is your favorite in EverQuest

Kaisa Wallace-Moyer

To the most stunning and talented Dungeon Docent: Would we be able to get a hot boy winter, or hot boy spring break, or hot boy any other holiday campaign at some point?

TK Pitts

Who do you think could turn a crowd against them more quickly (just by being themselves) the Trinyvale triplets or the Bon Frères?

Ellie

Q for the whole crew, but in particular Caldwell: are there any worlds or locations you think would particularly benefit from a Triplets Take Moonstone style arc? Just how much damage/how many cults would the triplets cause in Skaldova?

Brookestore

Hearing that murph and Emily have gotten Into magic the gathering, I was wondering what colour/colours of mana do you think the various characters of NADDPOD would be in mtg

Asher Dukes

For Emily/everyone: Have you had any thoughts about revisiting Twilight Sanctorum?

Jenn

For Jake: Your descriptions and world building were absolutely incredible. I was so inspired by your campaign that I started one of my own using the same type of descriptive DMing. I definitely worry that my narration may be boring my players. Was that something you gave any consideration? Were you nervous about presenting as a "narrative" style DM, since it's a departure from typical DMing? Wishing I had a clever way of signing off, Jenn P.S. Listening to Skaldova became date night for me and my husband, just holed up in our bedroom eating snacks and cracking up at the Zu Crew. Thank you all for such a fantastic 10 episodes!

Maxx Fisher

You have to be roommates with one of the members of the carnal crew. Who are you choosing?

wizard wearing a poodle skirt

For everyone: How do you feel that your comedy has evolved through the years of playing D&D? What is different about how you play comedically now than when you first began playing?

Hannah

Sup Jakerooni! A. What are some of the biggest lessons/unexpected elements you discovered DMing The rest of you cuties: AB Wearing the track jacket of the Duck team gives endless entertainment, people are so confused and delighted by the jacket at the same time, its wonderful.

Emm

Maybe I'm the only (probably), but I was holding out hope for Zudrick and Lila until the last second. Sir Mathis was clearly a bit of a useless partner (why didn't he come get her?!?!) and I felt like Zudrick and Lila had a great enemies to lovers arc going. So my question is, what went wrong? Is there still hope?

Tocayo

How many owls do you have to see on a given day before you get worried and contact the authorites? Thanks, never listened, hate the show

spectralotter

To Everyone: Would you ever consider going back to the idea of a NADDPOD videogame? With game engines becoming more accessible by the day and titles like Clair Obscur shaking the AAA landscape with small budgets and even smaller teams, partially consisting of career changers, the industry seems more ready than ever for people who just want to make good games. The kind of games that they themselves would like to play. Of course I know there's infinite amounts of work to be done for such a project. But I also know that you guys have a genius community with infinite talent at your finger-tips. So if you ever decide that you do want to give it another shot, I'm sure a lot of NADDPOles, like me, would love to help. Surprise-Pitch: What about a Discord-Server! For artists, programmers, writers, designers and animators from the NADDPOD-community, who would be interested to connect with each other for bigger projects. And maybe to create a game that we would all love to play. Kaloo-Kalay - Lukas

Nick Lerche

For Jake: how does it feel to have come this far, from drinking in the sounds of the fiddle to DMing your first campaign? So proud of you

Ervin Jeffries

Insane Question: I am DMing the finale to my first full campaign with 11 Level 20 PCs where two separate parties, who have been playing tandem in the world, come together to save the plane. So far they’ve released Tiamat, Aesmodeus, Hundreds of Dragons, a Terrasque and the new construct titan to fight ít, Zombies, clones (a la season 3), and the world is crumbling on itself (a la Season 1). I’m so excited to run this, but how would I begin to balance the final combat? (Murph, I know the answer is to not do this, but we’re way past that point)

Owen Buede

Now that everyone’s dmed, and been a player, who’s everyone’s all time favorite npc to either play as a dm or interact with as a player?

Niko R.

For Jorp: If you had to create a PC for Skaldova, do you have a character in mind? Marf, Cowbell, and Wormily: Similarly, have you thought about what PC you would have liked for your DM’d worlds?

Jesse Hodgson

If Welly, Zudrick, and Boggy were commanders for their own Magic Commander Decks, which colors would each be? PS: I would give my firstborn for content of y’all teaching Jake how to play magic.

Clemming

Now that all of you have been behind the DM screen, how have you found it affecting the way you approach the game as players?

Kathryn G.

PLEASE the bon freres on love island would be so funny 😭

Levi

To everyone: would you guys consider doing a horror dnd campaign or a who done it murder mystery one? I mainly want to see what kind of goofs you guys come up with in these scenarios.

Solomon Bell

This one is a short question for Emily, but I saw someone mention they felt a lot of trans symbolism/imagery in the way you played Welly. Was that a purposeful choice or just happenstance?

Kathryn G.

jake: will your next campaign have more granaries?

NotAnotherCuatropleBypasS

Would you guys please make a Pathfinder 2E campaign? I can't be the only one who would love to see you guys play! I am excited to see all the crazy different combinations you guys might come up with using archetypes and such. I think Emily, as the one who likes to try out different builds might be overwhelmed with the amount of creative choices she can make, but I think it would be really fun to see the build ideas that she comes up with. Every time you guys make characters I love the complex intricacies that you put into them, and I know that PF2E has more archetypes and feats that allow you to do that. I think anyone could DM it, but by far Murph might have the most fun, as there are even rules and way to make different types of monsters, or even NPC's built as PCs for the 2 crew to eliminate! P.S. Jake, if this was your first time DMing, you could have fooled me. It was beyond amazing, and I look forward to the future adventures of Wellies Fellies, Boggy's Buds, or even The Zoo Crew!

Dominique Kupersmith

Just want to congratulate you on an awesome first time DMing!! You did so great! I hope you had fun. It seemed natural for you. When I DMed I really struggled with balancing encounters and keeping combat engaging. Was that a struggle for you or did you get lots of tips from Murph? Also I want to congratulate the players for making awesome PCs that were so fun to listen to. Also would love to know where we’re going next with Skaldova on break. 😁

kaylee w

SPACE?? WHEN??

Derek Smith

Does Emily ever plan on updating her Substack?

Aaron Sterne

For the whole carnal crew: If you played a one shot as Boggy’s buds, who would you want to take over and who would you leave for Cake?

swilly97

Will you guys return to a longer campaign format, or are you sticking with the smaller rotating dm campaign format?

Hale

Will you ever do a parody season of DnD? In a previous Hearthside, you answered the Q “how much do your characters reflect yourselves IRL”. Would you ever be interested in playing over exaggerated, larger-than-life characters of yourselves? Obviously Murph will play a dwarf/rat character that’s perpetually Jersey grumpy (from NJ myself) but I’m interested in who everyone else will play! Love you guys ❤️

tre blessing

Mr. Hurwitz, at the very beginning of this campaign you reflected that after so many years of improv you'd kind of forgotten how you are a writer, and how much you enjoy being so. * I'm interested in how you're feeling about that relationship today. * ((I really felt that love and play in your descriptions especially, and also in your surprise twists and plot points, and I was chanting "HUR-WITZ!", like I was in the stands at a match, during ep 10 🎉🤩👏🏼 really wonderful man and thank you! but you can omit this parentheses for brevity if you wish))

Miranda B, Crick DVM

Hey guys. This has been a burning question for me: how many full minutes would you spend trying to open a seal on something before just stabbing it open with scissors? I anxiously await your answers.

DBot

Jake: Now that you have been on the receiving end of PC shenanigans, will it change how you play characters in the future?

tre blessing

you could check out the Jake and Amir youtube channel while we wait also there's videos here on the patreon that didn't get put on the public youtube channel, I think you can filter posts by "video" to find them

Blubread00

Are you guys going to be touring again in the future?

Carson

For Emily: You’ve said you prefer spell casters to martial classes because you don’t crit as often as other players on attacks, but Welly had some big crits throughout. Do you think playing in a low-magic world inspired your dice?

Nathaniel F

Hey Hearthside Homies, Homett, and The Grinch who’s in a believable human outfit: Which of your characters (from any campaign) would you rather be turned into while living your everyday lives? Conversely, which setting/world would you choose to be transported to, to live as yourself? P.s Hope the heat of your hearth wards of stalker Santas and (other) greedy grinches this summer.

Jake Ford

After a delightful re-listen, I am more excited than ever for another Twilight Sanctorum arc. Emily did a fantastic job planting a few seeds and still cutting things off at a natural point for a season finale. Even if we came back to the Vantasmos pursuing a totally unrelated thread in S2 it would feel natural given the way S1 wrapped up

Chas Moore

Jake, I know you had hesitations related to DM'g and likely some big fears that prevented you from taking the plunge previously. What fears did you have that were real (and dealt with) or overblown? What would you say to your younger self a few years ago, to get him to jump into DM'g sooner? For everyone, how do you figure out the challenge rating for a battle when you are DM'g? This experienced crew kept dominating, even as Jake ramped up the challenges. Jake, brilliant job as DM - I really enjoyed your style and I'm looking forward to Season 2.

Kyle Epperson

Sup. Playing DnD seems to be a little bit of a soul baring activity. We hear all about your lives, loves, and histories listening to the show. I'm sure I speak for many of us that we feel that parasocial relationship with you all. How do you, on the "celebrity" side, handle meeting people who know so much about you who are complete strangers?

Christopher Martin-Givens

I'm curious what Jake has felt like he learned the most during his first time DMing? What surprised you? What were you most worried about? What do you feel most confident about now that it's over? What do you want to do differently next time?

Jake Ford

I absolutely loved the 2024 year end Hearthside because of the top 5 recommendations everyone made. Does the crew have mid year recommendations? Or I'm hoping you'll do the same thing at the end of this year. Bright sword was such a great recommendation and it was very cool to see how much that trickled into the characters for the first Skaldova arc! Were there any other books that were heavy influences for this campaign?

HellishRebuker the NB DM PhD with diagnosed ADHD

Jake, you mentioned this first arc of Skaldova was based on the Sunless Citadel. Was there anything from the module you originally planned on using but eventually cut or changed as the story developed? Great job to you and all the players for making Skaldova fantastic!

Douglas kirk

Has running this game changed anything about the way Jake is going to approach playing his PC’s in the future?

maje

Now that you've all dmed who do you think your dming style is most similar to?

Sawyer Bernard

Are you gonna do another season with the same characters

Quinton Arnett

How do you guys feel about the Frieren/Solo Leveling debacle at the anime awards? Personally, I'm a Frieren truther, but just wanted y'alls options!

Cory Wyse

For Jeremy and the rest of the Zu Crew, has there ever been an inanimate object you have tried to destroy but just couldn’t get the job done (like Zudrick)?

maje

In a new hypothetical campaign you have to create a party of npcs from your respective campaigns which of your npcs would you choose?

garett144

Hey there! I have been cooking up an idea for a NADDPOD cooperative card game for a while. If you all are interested I'd love to crank out a prototype and send it. This would be a large undertaking though so I just wanted to see if there was desire for it first.

Nathan Mills

For Emily: out of the plethora of characters you’ve created and played, which have been the most satisfying to play narratively? Which have been the most fun mechanically?

AnthoniMM

To Jake: what mechanics or features do you want to experiment with in the campaign? Have you considered vehicle or similar methods of combat?

iamnotjackblack

Is murph making any final fantasy commander decks?

Logan Nash

To everyone: What characters do you think would get along the best, I think Welly and Bev would but I'm curious what y'all think, also, who do you think would hate/not get along with each other?

Kyle Rice

What are the chances of getting to Jake run a animorphs campaign? Oops all druids with homebrew wildshape. Jake HAS to finish the book series to get episode ideas.

Gwynx

Would y'all ever do a cross over episode with Worlds Beyond Number? I'd give anything to listen to the Band of Boobs take on Slam Daniels and his crew.

Rkds

Question for the whole crew. We've seen a lot of D20 cross over to the twodio, will we ever see Jake and Caldwell on D20?

xatlern

How did everyone like playing fighters for this campaign? Now that the first season of Skaldova is done, is anybody considering multiclassing? How does Jake feel about DM-ing for classes other than fighters?

Alexander Robbins

To the Carnal Collective, and Jake as well, how does DMing change your perspective of playing the game? Does it make you think any different while playing a PC? And what is the hardest aspect of world building as a DM?

CJ the wise

For everyone: what is your process for getting in character and creating a character for a short campaign that often has little time to find your footing in the pc?

Ethan Pestyk

To the zu crew: what was it like playing a darker game this time around and to our Dungeon Daddy-in-Law: was running a darker setting for the pod enjoyable? Loved this season!

Dave Rife

Jake: As a first time DM, what bit of inspiration did you find from each of your seasoned DM players?

BethKF

I mean I know you touched on it in a Short Rest, about researching loads of plants and trying to use that and the rocks etc. as a way to really viscerally summon Skoldova but please, talk more. It wasn’t just the landscape descriptions in the first few episodes that were amazing, every single episode had moments of truly extraordinary description. Skoldova is now a real world to me, how did you manage it? Is the secret a steady diet of poetry? Are there books or media that were/are influential in how you world build? Is it just years of hanging with 3 such legends as your co-podcasters?

Aiden

Mr Jake Hurwitz, as a seasoned DM i believe you should be called by your actual name, when can we expect a season 2? I genuinely loved Skaldova and i think you handled Emily and Caldwell (and some Murph) antics like a pro. Would love to see what Skaldova looks like when youre even more confident in yourself. thanks for the laughs Zu Crew <3

snoogans

Skaldova was awesome! Can't wait to hear what happens next! Can we expect any guest arcs in the near future?

Christopher Leffler

Hey crew/buds/fellies, but of a boring one, but would love to know how you've found DMing and playing with the 2024 ruleset? Thorns and roses for the changes?

Toe

I loved how bodies of water are so integral to Skaldova, to the land and each of the characers- if you were a water out in nature, what kind of water would you be?

Jack Page

Emily, do you think you will post the background music for C3 or Skaldoca on Apple Music/Spotify? You mentioned recently you didn’t want some of the singles to just be floating out there on these platforms but does that apply to the campaign music as well?

Eddy Phoenix

Mmuh-mmuh-mmuh-mmuhmmmMixbag Suggestion: Dragon Prince (Netflix) have any of you seen it? I'd love your opinions on this show. Absolutely love the content. Been listening for little over a year now. Finished my 2nd listen through of campaign 1! Had to go back after becoming a paid listener haha gotta listen to them short rest! Haha Anyways thanks for the laughs 😃.

andrea oaks

What magic the gathering commanders are ur faves rn? any favorite cards or precons?

Charlotte Gill

Do you have a favourite multi-class pairing you have played and is their a multi-class pairing you would like to play in the future

Commander Nexus

The Zu crew is traveling to their next destination when all of a sudden, they hear multiple people screaming. You hear what sounds like a feral creature growling and howling in the night. They see four people, bloodied, run past them screaming "run, they killed Jerry! Don't stand there, run!" A few seconds later, Welly, with an absolutely insane roll of 16, sees a green figure bounding on all fours chasing the group. This figure is covered in green fur and looks exactly like the Grinch. Hell, it could be the Grinch himself. This Grinch, covered in blood, stops and looks at you with his piercing blue eyes. He yells at the crew, "you've got to help me catch them! They stole Christmas!" Your speaking stone has zero bars. What do you do?

Dave Rife

Not a question in so much as a card in the suggestion box. Now that everyone has had a chance to sit behind the screen what are the chances we'll get a series of "tales of:" one shots or minis where the DM takes on the persona of a character they played in a previous setting telling a story from the world they are from presented to the listener as a game. Example Emily (as Moonshine) tells a story to the little ones at The Crick about Ol' Cobb that mechanically presents itself as a one shot played out by the rest of the players.

Toe

Liking this question isn't enough, I need to formally second it

ThacoIsWacko

One time, I said, "FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, DO A SHADOWRUN GAME!". 1: did y'all see that? 2: why haven't you Shadowrunned yet?

YourAnimeDad

*Contemplatively please* Ya know, everyone on the Pod has a cool moniker when DMing, Murph is The Encounter God (Google it) Caldwell is Duncle, Emily being your Dungeon Docent, and I believe after such a fun and well executed S1 you need one too! I propose Dungeoneer Herwitz as you not only gave us classic vibes, but also did so well shifting and using your instincts to guide these fools to the goal with a precision no one was ready for, everything felt intetional. Wish we we could fill your dungeon with all the roses! Thanks & hope whatever we get next you get a chance at again soon!

Alexa L. K.

Hello, Hamdam homies! What are your thoughts on the merits and drawbacks of low vs. high magic campaigns, now that you've played in both types of setting? Murph has already mentioned that he wants to do a horror survival themed campaign. Are there any other settings you haven't done, that you would like to do? (I hope Emily wants to play Sebulba in a Star Wars campaign).

Nic Q

What’s the most trivial thing you have a strong opinion about?

Alexa L. K.

And also, a million compliments to the Skaldaddy (Skaldova Dungeon Daddy) Mr Hurwitz for a bangin' campaign that I can't wait to hear more from in the future!

Gabrielle

If you could only eat bread, pasta, or rice as your staple carb for the rest of your life, which would you choose?

Omar Mtz

For Jake, what monster would you like the Zu crew fight off? Or type of villain, ex. Lich, vampire, etc?

Mad Dungeon Mama

Have y'all ever considered a crossover one shot/mini with a guest DM? For example Jasper - DM Murph - Jens Emily - Moonshine Jake - David Caldwell - Boggy Rogers

maje

Are there any other non-dnd systems that anyone has been eyeing or have played before that you would recommend?

Matthew R

Now that you’ve all had a turn DMing, what’s the hardest part about being a player again after you’ve DMed? Which do you prefer, playing or DMing?

Chazz

Congrats on the Hollywood Bowl show! Season 7 of Bones had me cracking up. Question: With Skaldova being a low fantasy setting without revivify, have any of you given thought to backup characters, if you died?

Michael Griffith

Dear {insert slight but loving insult here} DM Jake. You went from fearing being the DM, to doing a pretty good length one, and very well at that. What along the process got you out of your head/nerves, and more comfortable in the DM seat? Also, how was it, playing with an All Fighter PC team?

Erick_with_a_c_and_a_k

I’m a busy dad and UPS driver but still love to DM for my friends but I don’t have the time to dive into full creation of monsters or writing out a full session on my own. I’ve been using the copilot AI to help make monsters and write out sessions. How do you guys feel about “out sourcing” the creative process? (My pc’s are aware but still love the sessions)

Quack Dragon

Hello wonder worm spouses, I was curious if the 3 original dwarven kings had canon first names. I tried looking at one point and could not find anything on them. Also I just want to say that Murph yelling “Say it in initiative asshole!” had me rolling on the floor

Harrison

Did murph always know what was under zud's helmet? Or was it spontaneous or some mixture of the two?

Connor Ayres

Is there anymore sci-fi inspired campaigns brewing in any of the 2 crews minds.

Jeffrey Steck, Lord of the Fjord

Jake, Great job writing eloquent paragraphs describing the scene and surroundings during the adventure. Does that make you want to write a full on fantasy story or novel?

Swordmaster of Ginaz

Would you guys ever consider running a game in either Vampire: the Masquerade or Cyberpunk Red? It'd be interesting to see the 2 crew navigate the darker elements of VTM or get into the wild antics of Cyberpunk. If that's too boring, how about: if you had to be baked into a food, would it be garlic cheesy bread, a burrito or a pie? Thanks

taro ! (he/they)

hi ! this campaign was so good i love the carnal crew :) for jake: you mentioned that you adapted a module for this season, can you expand a bit more on the process for adapting from a module to your own world ? thanks !!!

Claire

Just wanted to say how amazing Jake was as DM. Also wanted to tell Brian that we just got two rescue kittens and named them Brian and Murphy!

Jeffrey Steck, Lord of the Fjord

What do you think are the origins of expressions like “by George!” or “and then, Bob’s your Uncle!” (Emily, don’t you have an Uncle Bob? Any insights?)

Marshal Adkins

With the decision to move to shorter and less prep heavy games: Have you considered using preexisting campaign settings for writing your own stories? Its usually my go to as it cuts on world building and doesn't end up limiting my creativity.

Rob H.

Back in the beginning of Skaldova there was talk of Zudrick learning an instrument. The idea of Zuddy singing a Tom Waits song or something like Don't Fear the Reaper makes me so happy! Can we make that happen somehow?

Jeffrey Steck, Lord of the Fjord

Loaded question: now that you all have DM’d, of the 4 of you, who’s your favorite DM? (You can say yourself)

Jason Evans

You do such a wonderful job doing collaborative storytelling. I can't wait to see you take on a system where that is natively part of the mechanics. Some of these systems have a session 0 feature where you build the world collaboratively. Are you considering any like that where we could listen to you shape the space you are going to play in?

Andrew Wruth

If you could have a swarm of birds follow you around and do your bidding, what species of bird would you choose and why?

Rylei

Hello to the Bailiff who has timeshares in DM’ing. Loved the new campaign! Are you guys going to exclusively use PHB’24 rules? I like some of the concepts but I grew up with standard 5e. I finally know how 3.5 Editioners feel.

Alex Garbarino

Now that you've played Oops, All Fighters in Skladova and Barrel of Monk-eys in the Eldermourne side quest, what class would you like to build a whole party out of next? Which classes are entirely too broken to do this with?

Kal and her cats Portland, Star, and Berlin

To all - What was all you guys favorite unexpected moments of the campaign? To Jake - What was unexpected about DMing for you? As always, my cats say hi and all of us are big fans☺️

KnockOffGrimReaper

this is a question for all 4 going emily, then caldwell, jake, followed by murph, before giving emily and caldwell a chance for closing remarks. Is sebulba capable of giving a hand job, or would it always be considered a foot job? Same question of general grievous if there is time, as they have been canonically established to be the same person. Also just got back from seeing emily & murph at the hollywood bowl had a great time in the pit, I was so happy to see bill seacaster back in the mortal plane as fig’s new manager & rip to squeem 🥲

Dag Swanials

Hi beloved Judges and Baliffs alike! Burning question for Murph, is Zudrick young Pentergreens?

Julia Cohen

It sounds like you all read "The Bright Sword" by Lev Grossman ahead of this season. What was it like creating a world together knowing you were all partially inspired by the same media?

Lindsay S

Who was the primary force behind all the bird references in this season? Did those come from Jake's world building, or did the players (collectively or individually) decide to have bird related things in their backstories?

sam c

Hello 2 crew. With the new shorter content have you considered running a pathfinder game?

CrowsNestCraft

Hey there, Jake as someone who also only played marshal classes before DMing. I found after being a DM and having to play a bit of everything it made me choose a caster (Cleric) when I had the chance to be a player again. Is there a sliver of a chance that you might play a caster next season? -John P.S. shameless plug to try and get you to check out my mini painting accounts on insta, TikTok and YouTube. It’s @crowsnestcraft, this doesn’t have to be said on the pod just for you eyes😅

Samuel Watson

Question for all. Between the Zu crew, Duck Team, the Choo choo crew, and the band of boobs, who would win a 50m three legged race? Also congrats to baby bird Jake for becoming a wonderful DM eagle and leaving the safety of the player's nest.

Harry

Hey carnal cuties. Now you're doing more short form content have you considered trying out Daggerheart? It's awesome

Evil Anagram

Have you considered a mini campaign set in a pseudo-medieval fantasy world? Trinyvale and the Mavers Chronicles were clearly pretty modern in feel, but I was wondering if you had any plans to run a sci-fi campaign or Call of Cthulhu.

Evil Anagram

What was Jake's biggest surprise as a first-time DM for the carnal cuties?

Guy

How is Dellathorn spelled? Thank you for the amazing story.

Glofkill

They also did Oops, All Rogues in Twilight Sanctorum

Doctor Ransom

All hail Matron Axford, the wondrous Wife Worm, long may she reign! I’m confident that I’m not the only one who’d love another series from the sweet Dungeon Docent Emily’s world of Twilight Sanctorum. Any chance we can revisit those sweet chuckleheads the Vantasmos???

Evil Anagram

Brian and Emily's characters seem to frequently have little guys as familiars or pets. Emily has had Paw Paw, Bookvar, Obsidian, and now William Shitts, while Brian has had the Murder and Nyak. Is this tendency related to their cat menagerie?

aiyana graham art

were there any specific motivations for having welly be (seemingly) exclusively attracted to women? it seems on par with naddpods tendency/motivation to take fantasy narratives and make them more inclusive, but I was curious if there was any particular motivation or if it was more like, "yeah, this would be cool"

aiyana graham art

I think in a previous hearthside murph said right now they're interested in sticking with dnd and maybe pathfinder but that doing shorter campaigns would inevitably open them up to more systems beyond both dnd and pathfinder

Amber Hawkins

Hello Carnal Cuties! My question is for Jake- now that you have dipped your toes into the lake of DMing, and came out shimmering with a successful run on the other side, do you still think that Skaldova will continue to be a low magic setting for future seasons? Or would you like to explore adding more magic elements now that you have had a peek behind the screen?

Ina

The question on everyone’s mind: will you be returning to Skaldova? When? It was great, Jake you did amazing- your descriptions were evocative and beautiful. The crew were just so fun!

Nicole Baker

Is final fantasy seven suitable for a beginner gamer in every sense of the word

Colton Vandegrift

How did you like the 2024 rules in practice when compared to the 2014 rules? Do you think you'll continue to use 2024 rules for future campaigns? What about when returning to old characters built with the 2014 rules?

Rob's Wit

Question for No-Cake-Jake! As a player, Jake's characters often take a comedic relief stance with rare (but awesome) moments of seriousness and heroism. That ratio of humor/heroism seems to flip for Jake's DMing style with the grim setting and darkly poetic descriptions. What was it like to try to provide a more serious and grimdark baseline for the Carnal Crew? Was it a struggle to stay in the tone of the world, or did the Characters silliness help to highlight the serious nature of the world? PS - I followed Jake's substack and am loving it!

Rin Carranza

Hiya crew! 👋💜 I have a question for each of you on for the characters you do, is there a core personality trait that you didn't write in, but as you played them more, just sort of came out of nowhere but fit in wonderfully? And is that trait something you actually have yourself?

Jesse

When I feed my cats I sing them a Food Time song and I have to imagine that Emily has a hemp-milk-style cat feeding song. Is that so? Can we hear it?

humanoidudon

would you ever consider collaboratively writing a fiction novel together i.e., this is how you lose the time war? what would be the premise?

Sharktopus Reckoning

A question for the Dungeon Baron Herwitz: One thing I loved about Skaldova was the dungeon crawling. So, I gotta ask— was the opportunity for more trap design part of your motivation for giving the Zu Crew a fortress? And if not— what gave you the idea? I could totally see a tomb of horrors style livestream in that place.

Steve Baer

Hey this question is for everyone,I'm writing an campaign called Ionfell and I was wondering, how do work on pacing in your campaign?

Alec

What will be your way of doing future seasons? Who will be the next DM? Will Caldwell DM next, Emily, or Murphy? Will we see more of Bahumia?

Alec

Also, why did we not see Beverly in the last campaign prior?

Babbles The Clown

Hello all, any chance Jake will make an appearance on 8 Bit Bookclub?

Borgar

I have a question about the future of Skaldova: is Jake going to go more homebrew with where it continues or are certain parts of it also in the module that Skaldova is adapted from? For example, are the Faraway Fjords loosely based on anything in the module or is Jake going to have to make that up as he goes? I enjoyed the season and can't wait for more Jake DM stuff, I loved the descriptions of each setting and scene. Really made me visualize Skaldova in a more realistic style. Love the great content, keep it up guys

Ghostcat

Question for all the lovelies! What kind of campaign would you guys like to play next (not DM)? As you have all had a chance to DM now, do you notice a difference between the types of settings you like to be a player in versus a DM?

Lucas Dahmm

For Jake: Did seeing/DMing with all the new fighter rules make you more excited to test their limits as a DM in this campaign or as a fighter yourself in the next?

Nadia the Dice Druid

I have a second inquiry- What would the Zu Crew’s favorite Pokemon be?

Jackie

Question for the Dynamic Dungeon Docent herself, Emily Axford: Now that NADDPOD is going in the direction of shorter campaigns and summer 2025 is upon us, are there any plans for the next installment of Hot Boy Summer? P.S. Aren’t y’all a little too warm sitting next to a hearth in June?

Eva

jake- what aspect of DMing for the first time was scariest and what do you think you gained the most confidence in? also, any advice for newbie DMs creating their own world?

Emily Hoodenpyle

Since the triplets have sonic and the boobs have donkey Kong, what video game characters do you think the carnal crew (or duck team or the third mates) would have beef with?

Amelia

Reflecting on the themes of the characters you played and world you built together, what's something you really enjoyed and something you'd like to explore in a new world or character going forward?

Lana Kole

Jack, sick dming. Loved the descriptions. Did the players miss anything along the way that you were excited about, besides the granaries and horses in the beginning? And do you think dming for the first time has changed how you play dnd as a pc?

Brant

How do you “get over” the “embarrassment” of roleplaying? I feel like my fear of judgment from non-gamers prevents me from participating fully in this hobby and certainly prevents me from taking big creative swings in the few games I’ve been in. But you four seem to have tackled that insecurity. How?

Tijay Arnie

Would yall Nepo your babies? Would you use your industry connections to help your child follow in your footsteps? Or not even in your footsteps, but were able to give your kid/s a leg up

Clever Innuendo

I know you're asking them, but just do things as much as you can, as often as you can. Stand up comedians might be "naturally funny", but the formed an act around countless sessions of eating it on the road. So take those swings, my dude. DND is creative thinking, teamwork and math, and I refuse to be shamed by anyone about that.

Robert Murray

Any thoughts on doing more non Dnd campaigns or one shots. I really enjoyed the pathfinder episode but would love to listen to a real departure. There are some great one page rpgs or similar which I think would be fantastic for the crew e.g honey heist

Jarod Brumley

In skaldova, We saw saw a lot of video game mechanics used for NPC and environment interactions, was this intentional or did your habit of reading fantasy books come into play at all?

🐧lost penguin familiar

Hey, Gang. Q for all. Naddpod has the best chemistry/comradery of any dnd show there is. Certainly, the most laughs per minute. So, with all your experience and playing at other tables what do you think makes for that magical chemistry?

Nick_Nack_Patty_Whack

Here are some checks to sprinkle throughout the episode. Posture check! Bladder check! Newjerseydevilssuck check WhenwasthelasttimetheNewJerseyDevilswontheStanleyCup check

Wren

(Denny voice) Hey Gang! Now that the whole 2 Crew has taken turns DM-ing, what are you favorite parts of each other's DM-ing styles/choices and has any of it influenced how you DM-ed for future games? P.S. Happy Pride to every Emily Axford character and Beverly Toegold, and yes, even Jens Lyndelle.

Santa Grinch Hugging HumBaba and two Fairies

Daddy Hurw(cr)its will you be spending any of Skoldova Season 2 prep time on the DnD 3rd source books that will enrich the Carnal checks int he future or are you going to keep that all home brew and improvd in the moment

Ollie Bear

Murph, is Zudrick’s bond with the murder of crows a subconscious attempt at shadow integration through external projection—or does he just really like birds with emotional baggage and a strong silhouette?

K Guard

Caldwell, I may be wrong on this front but Boggy feels like the most duplicitous/deceitful (not in an evil way, but still!) PC I've seen you play on NADDPOD. How was it to play in that particular space versus your previous PCs?

tori

Jake and Caldwell! Has recent fatherhood changed the way you play/view dnd? & Emily and Murph! Any critter country updates? 🫶

Tommy Williamson

Jake, do you think now that you have the experience of being a DM it will change how you approach the game from the other side of the screen? For the rest of the crew, Did anything about Jake’s DMing style stick out to you specifically? I think he really nailed pacing, and as someone who runs a weekly 2.5 hour game I can appreciate that

ohgodishitmyself

Jake, I'm a new DM myself trying to get into the swing of everything - I'm constantly impressed by your descriptions , any advice for someone trying to get better at that part? Or any planning advice?

rarefiednight

Emily, how's the substack going?

Randy Greig

With Emily being the Dungeon Docent, and Caldwell being our fun Duncle, what DM name should Jake be given, and why is it lowly dungeon baby. (All jokes aside, Skaldova was awesome. Can't wait for Carnal Crew season 2)

Starspawn

Loved listening to Jake DM and can’t wait for more!! Aside from being DM, I think my favourite Jake role ever on this show has been, and will always be be, Mavid. I was wondering if we might see another Twilight Santorum campaign at some point in the future?

Alexander Powers

I'd second Allen on this. Good tables will not look to embarrass you for missed swings (though it's important to be able to handle some friendly razzing depending on the table). The more you do it, the less embarrassed you'll feel. It also might not hurt to take some improv classes if you're into that, as you tend to learn pretty quickly in those that everybody misses swings and it's okay.

Alexander Powers

A question for our beloved hero Jacob- Skaldova was a lot more combat oriented and a lot more reminiscent of "classic" D&D than any of the other campaigns so far. Was this a deliberate choice or an accidental product of your world building? I'd love to hear about your creative process for this world! I loved the flavor and the change in pace that made it so unique.

Ricky the Moist

Jake man you fucking killed it. First time DMing is so nerve wracking, especially when you got a forever DM at the table. Don’t got a question just wanted to say I didn’t think an all fighter party would be good but you made the perfect setting and encounters for fighter shenanigans.

Lindsey

Have y'all been following Tiki the foster dog on socials? I've fully cried like six times 😭

Hayvi the Half-Orc

Is the Grinch force sensitive? Edit: to anyone reading this, please read Sarah Wynn-William's new book Careless People. Its...a necessary book about Facebook and our relationship to tech

J. Marshall Smith

I loved the campaign! Here's the question: If you had to recommend a book or movie to your character, what do you think they would enjoy?

Nathan L

Here is a Jake's Take: While DMing Skaldova, what did Emily, Murph, and Caldwell do that threw you off the most?

Pj

Will we see more of the Choo Choo Crew?

NobodyWrites

Question for the most special boy who's always been cooler than Amir, what was it like to run a game for three dms

gandalfsbignaturals

can u stat out the grinch like brennan did with chungledown bim 💟💟💟💟💟💟💟👽🙂

charlie garcia

Question for Caldwell: what is Jake’s middle name?

Raul Ramos

How do you do challenge rating? Is there an app or is the amount of enemies and damage they do?

Emmy

Murph! Whose your top 5 current active wwe wrestlers? My entire house is now obsessed with WWE and locked in a Punk vs. Rollins war and its entirely your fault, so thank you because it's truly the most fun we've had in a long time!

Tonglin Dangolier

Emily: Are you watching Murderbot on Apple Tv? They did a terrible job promoting it so I'm trying to get the word out.

Zanna

this is a really cool question!

Del

For everyone: If you were one of Boggy’s buds, what would be your name and what would be your defining characteristic?

Zanna

Emily, any new book reccs?

J. Marshall Smith

I thought it would be a fun way to get folks talking about media they like, and about the kinds of things their characters would like.

Walker Thurman

For Caldwell, was saying Longest Tom was “hung” instead of “hanged” an on-purpose joke? I know he hasn’t been hanged but that doesn’t mean he isn’t hung. Also, when did you decide that Boggy was obfuscating the story, was it part of his character at creation, or something you thought of later?

Zanna

Caldwell, what are your thoughts on Boggy's tendency to hide behind a "performance"? The moment where he's in the hole and "drops the act" had me incredibly intrigued to learn more

Walker Thurman

For clarification: “he was hanged” means hanged by the neck until dead, “he was hung” either means he had a big dick or was suspended in some way that wasn’t murder

Cloutea Animated

Question for Jake: What’s your relationship with magic now that season 1 of Skaldova has wrapped up?

Vi

Not a Skaldova question but what comes next? What mini campaign will be coming up and who will be DM’ing it?

cary grant

For Jake: Where did you take some inspirations in creating the world? I know the players have pointed out how video gamey some aspects of Skadova ended up being by accident, but did you draw from anywhere else specifically? Also, how do you spell Welly's last name if it's 8 letters long?

Sean Sinclair

For Jake: When I DM, one of my favourite things is when a player adds their own worldbuilding or history unprompted and without running anything by me - I love being surprised by my players' creativity! What was your favourite bit of unsolicited worldbuilding from the group?

Greg Jovi

Not a question, but just thought this would be fun. While waiting for the next saga to begin, I thought it would be fun to listen to the very first episode. A couple of thoughts, and im only 15 minutes in. Everyone sounds the same...except Jake. Jake sounds like he has aged and matured 20 years in modern NADPOD. So much so, this may be a Paul McCartney style replacement situation. One of the first things said, in the wake of the dragon pussy incident, Caldwell says he's highlighting items in a book. Emily, in a moment of innocence unaware of how insane this world will get, tries to bring it back to D&D and say hes using berries. Less than 10 minutes later, Caldwell will order a Sprite. In a vision of the future, Murph, already exasperated yells "WHY DID I ASK FOR THIS" about ten minutes in. Anyway, I love this fucking show. Thank you so much Jake, Emily, Caldwell, Murph and Replacement Jake for so many laughs over the years. I can't wait to see what's next.

Jacob Alexi

For Jake and Caldwell: Will either of you guys ever be on a season of dimension 20 I would love to see you guys in that space!

Matthew Harvey

Anychance of the 2 Crew making it to New Zealand? We'd certainly love to have you

GhostToken

For Jake: Did any of your NPCs in Skaldova have their own character sheet, and if so what class were they? Did making those sheets give you any ideas for the next character you'd play?

thiswayjose

When are the triplets gonna come to Skaldova?

Bubbalo Dee

For the 2 crew , Is there any chance of trying dagger heart or any other systems?

Mac

Hello! :) I’ve got a question for all of you now that everyone has experience in the DM seat. How do you all organize your campaign notes? I’ve just got a google docs with various tabs that I’m not sure how to organize and I would love to hear how each one of you does it. Skaldova season 1 was great and I can’t wait for more!

Christopher Magrath

For the crew. Did you enjoy playing fighters and do you expect to do another campaign where you all play the same class?

Nitro2pow

Hello! Question for everyone: what re the prospects of ever coming back to Australia for live shows?

tristan howells

Hey everyone love the show especially Jake (feel like the little guy needs a win) but if you had to live with one of your PCs for the rest of your life who would it be?

Zachary Mullins

Jake Q: How big picture are your plans getting for Skaldova? Will the Zu-Crew be saving the entire plane in a boob-esque fashion or are your current plans centered locally?

annika newsham

A question for Caldwell, has he seen The Legend of Ochi, and how does he feel about the use of puppets in it?

Will W

Jake: Emily mentioned asking you questions about the pantheon, etc of Skaldova; did those questions prompt you to think of or more thoroughly flesh out things you hadn't previously considered? Having an invested player asking those questions seems like it would help create a more verdant world. Emily: what questions did you ask? P.s. hate the show.

Boomer

When Boston show?

Jennifer

A question for Emily: Is Welly short for something?

Intestinal-Bookworms

Emily, as a fan of multiclassing how do you feel about the new rule set putting all subclasses at level 3?

Lydia Tresse;

How often do you record NADDPOD episodes? Do you batch record often? Are they recorded remotely or in person? Is the podcast now any of your full time job? Sorry for the multiple questions, but I’m hoping for a peak behind the production.

Joshua Levy

For Murph mostly but also the crew , we heard about the background war with the 2 crew happening in bahumia any chance of a campaign exploring that with the older 2 crew?

Diana Foti

Question for Jake. For someone that doesn't play video games. How did you go about placing/creating the puzzles for the crew to find/ go through? It did remind me of resident evil/tomb raider vibes.

Ilana Galpert

This is for Murph (though he might need Caldwell's help)--if there was a TV show called My Little Jabronies about WWE wresters (animated but classy animated) and they all wore booty shorts to show off the cutie marks on their thighs, what would some of the marks for some of the wrestlers be? (I was trying to come up with the funniest version of this idea and how the two shows would mix. In my head they are all just normal men with horse tails, but deep in season 2 we see the nighttime routine of one of the wrestlers and right before he goes to bed he takes off his hands and reveals hoofs underneath. It's never mentioned or seen again but it is a reverse of the creepy hand deer in Adventure Time, Caldwell gets it.)

Mol

This question is for all: Would you rather be a strawberry with human thoughts or a human with strawberry thoughts?

Jonathan

For Jake: I’m sure it’s asked every time, but are there any new fighter subclasses you want to play next time you have to bring out a new character?

Kyle Reyes

Amazing campaign! So cool to see you in the DM seat and excited for what to come. For Jake: do you think you'll ever guest on 8-Bit Book Club?

Amanda

Hi Emily! What are your favorite background music accompaniments in Skaldova?

Bloop bloop

At the end of the letter he mentioned that four of the letters were the same so I can only assume it’s Hammdamm

Ryan Finn

If you could have your character from Trinyvale form a multiversal team with any other 2 Characters from the NADDPod universe who would you recruit? The chaotic gremlin in me wants to see Welly, Mavid, and Jens in a room together.

Robert Kirkpatrick

For the Seadoo Crew, what aesthetic do you want explore in upcoming campaigns? What is currently inspiring you creatively and how is that influencing your choices in D&D?

Jalen

So now it’s summer again can we say it’ll be a hot boy summer at Emily

Leah Andreja

For Emily, Have you finally found out where the hatch is in the hit TV show lost?

Zane

For Jake, How are you doing with your Jvelin voice?!

Aaron McNeil

Will you all come back to Australia and do another live show at some point?

Johnathan

For all, Hey guys, I’m on my second listen of NADDPOD and have reached the end of campaign 2 and my 2 favorite episodes, 36 the great fairy secret, and episode 38 Ill luck Henry. it made me wonder, 7 years into naddpod what are your favorite episodes/ moments throughout the naddverse.

Palmate Antlers

For Jake: As a DM, was it difficult to handle the shenanigans from the PC’s? How did it feel balancing keeping the story moving while also letting the players have fun and go off on tangents? It was a blast to listen to but was curious how that might’ve challenged you in your first time DMing? P.S. jk hate you, hate the show. You fucking hack

AutomaTom

In Short Rest 8, there was some discussion about health potions tasting like NyQuil / how there's no way Boggy's potion & whiskey cocktail could taste good. But have you ever had D.O.M. Benedictine liqueur? This is exactly what I imagine health potions tasting like, and it even comes in a rather fitting bottle

Jacob Ibarra

For the whole crew: After the P2e 2shot (which I loved) you talked about maybe returning to the system. Is that something you’re still interested in doing?

Martin Wolf

For all the DMs: how do you manage your pacing? Do you decide per-session how many scenes or plot points you want to hit? Or some other system? Thanks!

Jacob Ibarra

For Jake: I wanted to say I loved the character voices you did for the campaign! Your NPCs were super fun, I wanted to know if there are any NPCs that you prepped and were excited for that didn’t get any air time (unless you’re saving them for campaign 2)

Sweeps McCool

For all: how do you manage “DM’s block”? My campaign has stagnated despite everyone being onboard to play (including myself!) and I have ideas, but just thinking about opening that campaign document has me shook. What the heck do I do?? Bonus for Caldwell: how was your mental state after act 1 of Clair Obscur

monty

For Jake: What was your inspiration for Fae (Fay, Fey?) She was easily my favorite NPC and the Ender's Waltz moment brought me to tears. Also, did you plan from the beginning for her to survive (while I breathe, I hope) or was it the party's care for her that inspired you to research the birch sap that cured her?

Brock

em what do we think about a hot boy summer and an twilight sanctorum fall?

Jay Warner

For Emily/all: in a previous episode you mentioned having a warhammer army painted by a friend, What army do you play, and what colour schemes have you gone for? As goes for the boys if any of you guys play.

Vic Cutting

What makes this worthy as a podcast?

Bright Morning

Hear me out. Trinyvale triplets take Eldermorne / Thornkirk?

The Grinch (feral)

For everyone: have you ever looked up/ran across any fanfiction about you yourself or any of your dnd characters in and outside of Naddpod? if so did it scar you for life?

Evil Grimace

For the hotties with the rockin' bodies (everyone): If you were in a campaign where you played as bug (or another type of Arthropod) adventurers, what could you see yourself being? #pleasedontdowhendidthingscomeoutasamixedbag

monty

Zudrick's gotta be Corviknight, right? Welly might be Politoed. I've no clue for Boggy, but maybe Tangela/Tangrowth.

Larry Scott

If I remember correctly you said you based the campaign on the adventure Sunless Citadel. What part of the adventure did you take inspiration from, and what parts were your own original ideas?

Goggalore

Jake if you could have been a player in this season what fighter subclass would you have picked and what kinda person would they be?

Goggalore

For zudrick of the murphder When you get to play in one of these shorter campaigns do you feel like you're loving being a player or do you find yourself itching to be back in the dm seat

monty

Absolutely Zudrick. He doesn't do any of the dishes but kills all of the roaches

Kyle

This is for the couldn't burp bailif. Have you finally had a stomachache?

Lachy

Thanks for an awesome campaign everyone, I absolutely loved Skaldova. I'm thinking about transitioning my players to the new ruleset in the future, but don't want to make life more complex than it needs to be for them, given we all play in multiple games. As such, this is a 2-parter: 1. How did you guys find the experience of the new ruleset, and was there any difficulty in juggling 2 pretty similar systems (especially if you were playing 5e & the 2024 rules simultaneously)? 2. When was Disney's Air Bud released? Love all your work, and keen for the next season.

Sam Collie

Are you more excited about revisiting old characters/worlds or inventing new ones for the upcoming mini campaigns? (can’t wait for a return to Shadowfell!)

Bubble-gun 🔫💖

Will the Hot Boys of Summer be making an appearance anytime soon? :D

Connor Ayres

For The Little Jake Hurwitz! From never experiencing DnD, to where you are now. Which felt easier to slip into, being a player or a DM?

Joshua Goguen

Question for everyone since you’ve all DMed at this point! How do you guys write your campaigns, are you using computer software, paper, or a bit of both? And a quick aside, what an absolutely fantastic season. You crushed it Jake.

Jamie ßuçklānđ

Question for Jake, can we get some peak behind the screen Borik and black lace lore? Did Borik know about the Duchess, is that what he was hoping would happen to him, but with him maintaining more control? What was his background as a scholar, and why was he banished? I loved all of the different alterative titles for him btw. Also, I know that you probably can't reveal much because of spoilers, but I would love more god lore! I can't wait to learn more about the hilt, the loadstar, and the ender. The glimpses into the age of stories was a big part of what kept me impatiently refreshing the podcast feed. That, and all of the wonderful personalities of the PCs!

Mikko Palis

Hey Jake did you see Sonny finally lift a trophy??

Teeth Bonjour

Would you all eat a devil fruit if offered one and what one if you would?

M-Hansen

When shall our beloved hot boys make their return?

Kirsten Coffman

Do you each do the editing your own campaigns? If not, is there anything you would have done differently if you had?

SurvingLaw

Pleasee update us on the Boar King?!?! Did it die? Did it find a spouse and have little boar king children? Is it planning a full scale attack on the world? Was it secretly a person cursed to be a boar for eternity? The people deserve to know.

Andrew E

Question for Jake: Who would be the worst player at this DnD table, where you are the DM: Max Verstappen, George Russell, Lance Stroll, Toto Wolff, Gunther Steiner?

SurvingLaw

Any chance Jake will be make a guest appearance on 8 Bit Book club?

Kirsten Coffman

Now that you’ve all sat in the dm chair is it time for a guest dm and all 4 of you playing?! Imagine the antics! Who would be fun to have that hot seat? Siobhan? Beardsley?

Faris K.A.T.

How was everyone's experience playing with just Jakes (fighters) this season?

Dan Altman

Does Emily have any plans of playing musical shows or at least maybe opening up for a live show with some musical performances?

Leondatwani

Question, what are your guys thoughts on the new priorities class dnd is play testing for dnd 2024? Also what is your opinion on dnd 2024 vs 2014?

william wall

Will Sabrina get more screen time next season?

Takowowo

Might be a bit late but now that everyone has had a turn at the helm I ask of ye: what kind of player characters would you guys make for the campaigns you DM'd for?

Just Me

Question for Emily and the Rock Keepers- do you buy the oui/fermière yogurts so you can get the lil jars? And if so, what do you use them for?

Vendraco

Will Emily make some dope songs for this campaign too (example one big bed, serpents serenade) And did you guys have any other characters in mind that weren’t the ones you are using right now? If so what would they have been

Ashton Ellis

I had a question for the PC's, what made you all decide to pick fighters? I know that the world has very minute traces of magic remaining, but I was really thinking someone may have went with a rogue or some other non-magic dependant class.

Cinnamon's #3 Fan

What're the chances of us getting Trinyfinder, where the nefarious forces of N.E.R.F. forcibly convert the triplets to Pathfinder 2e rules in an attempt to keep them in check? There's a character option called Oozemorph for our Jampion...

Dylan C

Now that you have done oops all monks and oops all fighters, which class is up for your oops all ____ game?

Cristina Heiberg

I just wanted to share that I gave birth to our daughter on January 10th this year, and we’ve named her Emily — after one of the most remarkable and inspiring women in the world. ❤

Fern G.

I know Murph recently mentioned wanting to run a Resident Evil-inspired oneshot. What are some other fun settings y'all would like to explore in the future?

Kody Chipman

Will Murph continue to do full or even mini campaigns in the world of Bahumia?

Jessica Petra

My home game did an "Oops all Artificers" game a few years ago and it was so much fun.

Caleb

To the Murph/axford/tanner/herwitz it may concern, any advice for a bunch of 20-something’s trying to start their own D&D actual play podcast? And if you don’t have any advice, does the grinch haunt your dreams in the same way he does mine? I haven’t slept in weeks. Thanks love you bye.

August Etzel

How are Emily’s farel cats?

Gicky

Kill Fuck Marry. General Grievous. Sebulba. Sifo Dyas.

Lorelei and Kyra Newly Weds

Be genuine and find your niche, be it comedy or realism. You'll find your audience eventually. And don't give up just because of low numbers.

Excelsidorks!

Jake! What were your favorite parts of creating this campaign? What were the most stressful? Congratulations on running an amazing first campaign dude! ❤️

Jamie ßuçklānđ

Also, what deal did Braxton make? Why did he betray Lila?

Joaquín Tega

Hi from Argentina! Now that you tried DMing Jake, did you enjoy it? will you try to introduce more ''magic'' in future seasons? ty for all the laughts.

Crumb Gunderson

The burning question we are all wondering, what’s next? Any sneak peeks you can give about next campaign, mini arcs, or NADDPOD content in general? Absolutely loved Skaldova, the carnal crü and Jakes DMing, very excited for S2!!!!

Crumb Gunderson

Also, with all the Star Wars content lately, any chance of a Star Wars 5e (or similar offshoot)? Would love to witness Emily’s sebulba inspired PC

Audro Baggins

We need an update to critter corner

Trey

Jake, can we get a peek behind your DM screen? What items/notes accompanied you while leading this campaign?

Brian Adams

Hello from the Rocky Mountain state! This question is for the fantastically talented Emily Axford! Would you ever consider a show where you talk about your music writing process for D&D? My friend and I are writing original music for our own D&D podcast, and I love the way your music enhances the atmosphere of moments/locations. Would love to hear more! I just started Campaign 3, so I’m not quite caught up on anything happening now!

Michael

This comes from Michael in Alabama, “Jake how nervous,if at all, were you to dm for the, to my knowledge, first time?” Danke

Jay Taylor

When will Jake be on 8-Bit Book Club?

mandy

now that a bit more time has passed, has jake finally gotten into cake?

Joe S

Will we ever get a Rian Urphy episode? It feels wrong not to share that characters awesomeness with the rest of us.

QuadDamaged

Murph masterfully demonstrated the Universal D&D Truth that there’s always a Batman character in the party. Who were the other Batmans from previous campaigns? Ps: Solid DM work, bravo Jake !

Emma G

I'm thinking of DMing, Jake can you talk about your experience with it? What drove you to create a whole world for your first time, and how long have you been thinking of Skaldova and DMing in general?

Emma G

What d&d tattoo should I get, and what would you guys get?

Meghan

LOVED SKALDOVA , now that all of you have DM’d what are your favorite parts about playing the dungeon Dosen/world building? How about being a player character?

Meghan

How much technology is too much technology for a classic DnD campaign? Is it weird to have fun in balders gate for example? How about computers? Phones? This is a great debate amongst my players

Blubread00

Are we ever gonna get the Hardwon moonshine letter

Josh Meier

Would you ever write a book Jake. Your writing is soo encapsulating.

Evan

Can't imagine I'm the first to ask this but just in case: what's new with Magic for those of you who play? Any decks/cards/commanders you've been hyped about lately? (Still dying for an MTG Mixed Bag btw 👀)

Kitkitdik

10/10 season Jake how was your first stab at balancing planning vs improv? I still find it difficult to feel confident in my improv when reacting to players' surprising actions/plot twists. Emily, murph, and Caldwell how did you explore your characters to get such in depth convictions? They all were so realized and super emotionally effective.

Olive

Who would win in a fight, an emu or an alligator? They fight in an endless, flat plane- not necessarily to the death. This argument has (playfully) plagued my friend group for years.

Matthew James

(For Jake) Howdid you expect to split your time between combat / exploration / rp going in, and how did that change as/after DMing?

Vendraco

Brennan would be wild to see

Kerri

Can we get the moonshine hardwon letter?!

Kate

I don’t know if anybody else got this vibe, and I would love to know if anyone knows, but the music reminded me of Twin Peaks this season and I was wondering if that was the inspiration for the music?

Matt

They may have answered this in the first episode or intro episode, but Jake has run strictly fighter subclasses in Murph’s campaigns 1-3 for his PCs, with the exception of two short arcs when his character was absent- this was NADDPODs way of honoring him stepping into the DM chair.

Matt

For Jake- now that you’ve been both a player and a DM, how do you #StayJakeHumble?
