I do this too. You make the pancakes and then put them in the oven so that they stay warm while you make the rest so that the rest of the people you are making them for don't have to have them right as they are done cooking on the stove. I do this because I usually start making pancakes while the rest of my family sleeps so when they wake up pancakes are all ready and still warm, so we can eat together. 💜

Yeah as someone who makes pancakes from scratch every weekend pancakes can take FOREVER, especially if you don’t have a long griddle. I make them on a cast iron pan and I can fit 3-4 cakes on a pan. On average I’m done with all the pancakes (serving 4-5) at least at 45 minutes sometimes an hour.

My experience of camping changed when I started premixing my buttermilk pancakes batter in advance and just having it in the cooler. Once I tried packing the batter into a ketchup bottle. Lightning fast pancakes with little mess. But maybe to much prep to be worth it.
