Murph coming in HOT with a slant rhyme right off the bat is crazy work

Abby Zoetewey

I love a good slant rhyme and I love a bad one even more

TayoticGood

If a slant rhyme isn’t bad/Is it worth it to be said

Abby Zoetewey

Welly’s poem was beautiful, brings a tear to my eye 🥲

rosebramblewolf

Boggy is the exact type of charming disaster I couldn't resist in college

austinoxner

Friday morning at work just got a WHOLE lot better.

CSN

I just listened to Baggin' It With Balnor: Green Teen Quarantine, having almost finished re-listening to campaign 1. So Caldwell's hacking cough in the intro momentarily seemed to be in very bad taste. 😅

Chareth Cutestory

Crow tuah and six seven, zudrick really is a rough 23 y old

Zagreus

Excellent episode, one of my favourites

Amanda

I'm going to need one of those medieval knight vs snail arts only it's Zudrick vs the giant trout. Great stuff all the way through, very excited for Bog.

Geraint

I'm so glad Jake conquered his trepidation and began to DM, I could listen to him poetically describing environments and scenes for an age 🤩 and the scene with the bog bugle, oh my god 🥺🥹

Broghar The Bugbear

Omg I wasn't expecting the feels, Josh is killing it!!! 🤗💚🤗💚🤗(All love Jake)

Delwin Agustin

Mosquito women will be tickling my funny bone for a while 😂😆

Storm D Bain

I love almost every single campaign and morsel of content but Skaldova might far and away be my favourite.

Jess Knox

The absolute hilarity of the fish using up an action surge. Chefs kiss

Sean Howard

Lake imogen is lowkey the size of a great lake, so it would probably resemble a inland sea more than a smaller still lake

Aaron Beguelin

Pullings has to be named for captain Pullings from Master and Commander

Isabelle

I feel maternal towards Zudrick

Syf Sloane

Jake! As a fellow naval history nerd, I LOVE what you’re doing with the place :)

FusRohNahSon

Wait nooo theres something so sad with Zudrick being mad at his buds and going "well you havent tried to kill me like my last friends so this is great actually" 😭😭

Nic Q

What a fun episode! I loved the river encounters. Much more interesting in their structure than just normal straight fights. Plus the trio are so funny. The whole prismatic trout bit had me absolutely rolling. Welly lowkey mocking Zudrick and Zudrick sulking was probably my favorite moment. Plus Boggy’s despairing noise when Welly said they didn’t need the jewels lmao

jess?

Getting horny for mosquitos is a new low

David Lipscomb

Jake, love the campaign so far. The front of the boat is called the bow. It's pronounced like, "bau" or the bow in "bow-wow". Not a bow, like Boggy uses. Keep at it good man

Hostage4hire

Jake’s description of Boggy not sure if he actually heard the tune hit some emotions for me for sure

Ethan

Bog tuah

clerby

MURPH DID 67??? never in my life would i have called that

Gh.stF.ssil

Hell yeah, the Horseshoes of Speed is one of my favorite magic items, mostly because one of my characters is a 20 dex centaur ninja and my DM gave them to me as a random item without realizing they would work on me.

Magnoliidae

The 2 crew has gotta look up the history of the great lakes, especially lake superior, they can actually be like So Dangerous

Alicia Torres-Onisto

Murph coming in with "if he was a friendly ghost he would say hey" killed me

UndecipheredStones

One thing about ship lingo: it's all said like you've used the word ten thousand times and gotten bored of both consonants and stressed vowels. When I heard Jake say "gunwale", I went "Oh no! That's twice as pronounced as it ought to be!"

Ilana Galpert

Jake's pirate voice raises a question I've never considered--where does the stereotypical pirate accent come from?

Blobby5678

Honestly - this ep brought a lil tear to my eye more than once. Bravo 2 Crew

Joy 🦆

This reminded me I need to play Scriptorium Master of Manuscripts again and see what new assets the devs have added cause I bet you could absolutely do this on their free draw templates

Penfield

I could for sure see Emily becoming obsessed with all the wrecks and the story of the Edmund Fitzgerald

UndecipheredStones

The Great Lakes are *huge*, though. Jake said Imogene was 30 miles by 10 miles, so 300 sq mi if it's (unrealistically) a rectangle. That's about 50% bigger than Lake Tahoe. Lake Superior is more than a hundred times bigger, at 31,700 sq mi.

Professor Pratt

I’ve been listening to NADDPOD since day 1 and the interaction between these three are some of the funniest things I have heard. Period. Zuddy might literally be my favorite character. Murph, this is comedy gold. I can’t breathe I’m laughing so hard.

Professor Pratt

“This is the happiest Zudrick has ever been” crushed me. Murph is on fire!

Brooke D.

The flute boy song at the end brought tears to my eyes and granted me inspiration I can’t wait to meet this guy

Mellzs

Holy fuck one of my new favorite things to say at full volume by myself "WHATRE YOU WHISTLING ABOUT?!?!" Thanks for the gawd damn cackle you guys are always so damn funny

UndecipheredStones

Don't think so - the smallest Great Lake is Ontario, at ~7500 square miles, and Imogene is 30 mi x 10 mi (mentioned at 8:35) so it's like a 25th of the size or less.

Elizabeth Gunn, sickly but cruel

From the west coast of Britain! It's an accent where they pronounce the R like Americans do, thus the yarrrr. Cornwall and such. You have not lived til you've heard an old man say "Alright, my lover" and really hit those r's.

Wouter Van Goey

This is my favorite season, everyone's character is perfect and Jake has a wonderful DMing style unique in the group.

Evan

You can tell how excited Jake was to do a boat episode

Blimbo

Does this campaign remind anyone else of Darkest Dungeon

Professor Pratt

That ending was glorious! Jake, you are absolutely crushing!! Love you all.

Fiver

I think it comes from an actor who played Long John Silver in, like, the 50's. He was from Cornwall I believe

Akrilothian Gaming

This episode gave me full body chills Jake is very deserving of the first naddpod second season hes becoming one of my favorite of all time dms I really hope he continues to dm maybe we can get a season done by Emily as well?

John P.

I love being back in Skaldova!

panpolypuff

I'm so here for Boggy getting some narrative focus. He set up so much lore, and it's always wonderful to see the serious side of a kinda goofball character. P.S. I still cannot shake my habit of picturing Boggy as Kaptain K. Rool 🤣🤣

AXWH

Emily!! Please consider releasing the Boggy theme song somewhere!! I love it so

Amanda

Ooh that sounds neat, fingers crossed it works out

J E

My minds eye truly doesn't know what to make of Cloud Rune Deflection, like what is actually happening when that happens :|c

Chris Swank

I just wanna say that Skaldova has pretty firmly taken its place right up with C1 as my favorite campaign you guys have done (not that I don’t love the other stuff of course). From Jake’s choice of tone for world and his beautiful descriptions of it, to the hilarious but surprisingly grounded PCs everything just hits perfectly. Keep it up Josh, hope to see you on 8 bit book club

Ivy!!

freezing jeans is 1000% a prank, i've never heard of it as a way to care for them

Bebs

Music and sound effects were on point this ep!! Love the flute and the creaking metal with Zuddrick moves

Wilder Cosaboom-Son

The number of sentences in this episode that started with “yarr” is giving me life

Alec Posta

I love all the naddpod campaigns and have listened to them multiple times. That being said: there IS something special about the very first campaign. I get the same feeling listening to Skaldova as I do listening to the band of boobs...there's just some kind magic in it.

Cory

Lake Superior is bigger than most seas, is famously rough enough to sink ships, and could definitely conceal pirates and smugglers.

Colton Merrifield

Man I just get more and more reasons for yall to visit Galveston Texas . You can have an encounter at moody gardens with otters, we got duck tours, a haunted Opera House to perform in, and a billionaire that owns half of the restaurant to shit on.

David Giles

"Plenty of lucky men drown in this lake" awesome line, esp. In context.

Ligilos

Jake as the DM responding to character lines reminds of narrators in comic books who always seem to respond to characters but not actually interact with them

Claudine

Plannings: "She is a mystery. She is a goddess, but she can be cruel." Welly: "Mmmh, hot." Absolute gold. I'm so here for the unhinged sapphic horniness for nature!

gittan

S-TIER NADDPOD EP RIGHT HERE

Jen Smells Peaches

“And in Züdrich‘s defense, I don’t trust dachshunds” made me absolutely shout laugh. Thanks, Caldwell.

Rob Fay

Firstly I absolutely LOVE this campaign but I'm gonna couch this with a big thorn.... Murph and Em are kind of power gaming this campaign. It's kinda circumventing a lot of Jake's interesting encounters

Professor Pratt

I cannot say how often I say “stop” in Zudrick’s voice throughout the day, that and “Welly.”

Professor Pratt

I longed to be that type of charming disaster in college.

AlbireoRising

"A time far away but not so long ago" DAMN Jake

Henk

Jake I love your campaign but you need to learn how to pronounce all the fun boat words you've been reading before you say them out loud

Magnoliidae

Although those are the measurements in the ep, in the short rest he did end up saying that the great lakes were an inspiration

Summer Tribe

i really think Jake needs to learn about mythic bastionland

Hugo Wull

Came to say this! I just finished the audiobook of The Gales of November by John Bacon, and aside from being an incredible telling of the Fitz, it really impressed me with the insanity of the Great Lakes

Hugo Wull

Ah yes the two genders: ghosts and squids.

Taylor Hull

JAKE!!!!! THAT WAS DMing ON THE LEVEL OF ANY OF THE GREATEST! 11/10 I Truly felt the Magick

Asteroid

“It’s big, it’s fat, it’s magic” needs to go on some kind of merch

Damian

Lake Superior is one of the deadliest lakes in the world. It's such a interesting lake. Bodies are preserved by the cold water. No salt means it's much harder to float. The waves are large but closer together so the larger ocean boats sometimes can't handle the dynamics.

2026-10-24 14:00 I thought Scaldova was meant to be magicless. Shouldn’t horseshoes “pulsating with magic” been a bigger deal?

Athena Flusher

Freezing peoples abandoned uniform pieces was a fun prank we pulled all the time when I was in the Air Force. Cut down on how messy a shop full of teens would get.
