Wow never clicked so fast for the picture

9on

omg the famous jizz musician himself

Gregory Moskowitz

Oh you know its gonna be fire when theres a glup shitto on the thumbnail. Also I need to keep plugging this to get it to Emily. Sabulba will have a featured role in the new pod racing game!

Djmon

Pms drops are goated. Thanks naddpod

syzmon

BOGS! BOGS! BOGS! BOGS! BOGS!

Peregrine

I loved the idea of lake pirates and it’s great inspiration for my campaign I’ve just started! (First time DMing) I think I’m gonna have pirates in my swamp and rivers

LowlyWorm

At this point I’m surprised if the short rest doesn’t have some bullshit as the thumbnail

wick

“Linkin Park style” stfu Murph 😂😂😂

Peregrine

Fun fact: there are freshwater jellyfish (not dangerous I think) and sea otters can be 100 pounds and have drowned dogs and such (and the males are very sexually aggressive) Sorry

Peregrine

Be careful how much you learn about otters

wick

This is an all timer Short Rest.

Altruistic Fish

Pleeeeeease tell me the stirges’ lips lead to the thumbnail. I literally thought of Sy Snootles as soon as Jake described them.

zo perry

PLEASE if you haven’t already, listen to dungeons and daddies’ miniseries called gungans and daddies: all that jizz. it’s a star wars TTRPG miniseries about a jizz band framed for murder. it’s some like it hot meets space. so so funny and is the first thing i think of when anybody learns about star wars being named jizz

Olivia S

Me and my siblings pranks to each other was taking each others underwear, dipping it in water and freezing them, so there’s precedent

lloyd hernandez

Sea otters are cute, Amazonian River Otters come straight from hell

Pali Endi

Just say it Murph: When did Jizz come out 😭

Hostage4hire

God I love guessing when the thumbnail will enter conversation in the ep

biblioprincess, the executive dysfunction fairy

Freezing someone's bra was a staple of sleepover pranks in teen movies in like the 90s and aughts I think? Sometimes in the film they did get them wet first, presumably so the padding would absorb all the water and be awful. Also it was the time of like the water/gel filled pushup bras so I think the theory was the liquid would expand when freezing and burst and ruin the bra.

David Gillette

In addition to lake pirates, there have absolutely been naval battles in the Great Lakes—one of the most important engagements of the War of 1812, the Battle of Put-In Bay.

Clever Innuendo

I love seeing a thumbnail; that means a tangent is coming.

Myckeli

Giant otters can become over 6ft long and are v i o l e n t predators. Otters are very territorial and have been known to attack humans, both alone and as a group. Don't let their cuteness fool you!

J. Marshall Smith

Not that it actually matters, and probably someone else has pointed this out already, but gunwale is confusingly pronounced “gunnel”. Similarly, a boatswain is pronounced “bosun”. 🤷‍♂️

Alistair

Never letting Jake forget flubing PEMDAS on the pod ❤️

Tony Dennis

LOVE seeing the random thumbnail before the ep you know we got a good one cooking here already

Hammy

When did jizz come out?

Elliot

God like 5 mins in and no one on the pod has head of MUSKIES?! Wisconsin's state fish?! Big ass dinosaur fish!

panpolypuff

Matt Colville shout-out! His videos are so helpful ❤️

Blake Vandiver

Perfume note for Emily because I also am put off by spraying perfume etc: I've found I LOVE a natural solid perfume that also works as a hair oil. It applies like a thin lotion on skin, like a hair oil on hair, and isn't overpowering or a strange feeling process like spray colognes. The type I use is Love From Santa Barbara,, but any with all natural ingredients feel like they may be very similar to the hippie hair masks talked about in various short rests.

John Thomas

Anybody else there get there jeans frozen at a sleepover? When they started talking about I felt so validated but then they seemed to deem that it was just Mighty Ducks association. I had my jeans placed in a tub of water twice at sleepovers. Makes for a miserable morning then waiting around for them to thaw, especially if you’re a teenage boy who only brought one set of clothes

Wholecashew

The Great Lakes have jellyfish btw

Lamp

Emily you aren't alone! I was a scamp growing up and when my hockey team would stay in hotels for tournaments we would take each others warm up shirts and dunk them in the hotel pool and put them in snowbanks overnight outside

Bryan Barton

Was not expecting an episode of “When did jizz come out” Jizzney edition. I love this show.

Patrick B

Laughing at the thumbnail before I’ve listened to even a second of the episode #JustNaddpodThings

Stefanie Cornish

me listening to the disney cologne discussion and remembering i’ve been wearing a Squishmallow tester perfume for 2 weeks 😬

Rachel Marie

I came here to speak otter truth, but it looks like the nadpoles beat me to it! Please don’t look them up, except to image search “World’s Largest Otters”. This world is delightfully wild. Thanks for the continuously enthralling pod!

Walker Thurman

River Otter Lake Pirates is my favorite band

Walker Thurman

“Jizz meant spunk” yeah I think that’s what he’s saying

TheTrueMegaMike

As a person who lives near a Great Lake, they ABSOLUTELY had mabal armadas on them. The Great lakes, people who have not lived by them forget, are basic inlands seas.

Natural Dragon

You should all go to Duluth mn and see Lake Superior and see how lake pirates could exist Also D2 is way better for young kids. As Minnesotan D2 was my jam growing up. Not to brag but I had it on VHS Edit: the guys in my dorm would wrap axe body spray with duct tape and hold the door shut after throwing it someone’s room. It was a nightmare

Walker Thurman

This is so ominous and based on your comments I am happy to keep thinking of them as lake ferrets

Mighty Turtle

Please someone take note. Sea otters and River otters are very different, one is cute and holds hands with each other, the other is Extremely territorial and aggressive and will chase down trespassers in packs.

Walker Thurman

The only time I have frozen clothes is thrift store clothes to try and kill anything that isn’t affected by heat. Idk if it makes any sense to do so but I cannot imagine freezing a bra being a could prank. How could you know which bra they’ll wear? Do you freeze all of them? What is the window of switching out an unfrozen bra for a frozen one? Am I too gay for this? Every woman I know has like a dozen bras and like. Don’t keep them in the kitchen???

Walker Thurman

Oh so it’s not real lol. That makes sense. Also “did you guys have a favorite brand of Axe Body Spray?” Really got me for some reason

Walker Thurman

Buying a scent you wanted as a child feels like an important step in being an adult. There’s a Versace cologne that I remember from being like 10 as smelling like the beach and one of the best like “self-care” things I’ve ever done is buy a huge bottle of it that I’ve barely used over the last however many years

Walker Thurman

My little brother has gotten into cologne but he doesn’t have money so it’s mostly like. Ed hardy or a weird brand he found on Amazon. I personally love Eau Fraiche, it DOES smell like salt spray but also like the way you imagine the sea to smell.

Ember

The Great Lakes absolutely have undertows and rip currents. My sisters friend drowned because of a rip current in Lake Michigan when she was in High School.

Intestinal-Bookworms

Throwing it out there: Demeter Fragrances has stuff like “tomato” or “old book” scents that are actually very nice scents and like the stuff they describe. Like, they have “cucumber” and it straight up just smells like cucumbers

Garbo Embargo

Bod fragrance spray was infinitely worse than Tag or Axe. That said, I think body sprays have a smell that gives them away, like the aerosol gases or something. I bet most people would be able to distinguish them from a cologne.

Emily Madsen

I came here to post this and you have it covered. These terms blew my mind the same way the word “colonel” did when I first heard it said by someone else. As a kid who read a lot, I spent a lot of time saying words wrong in my head!

Amanda

Omg famous jizz musician Max Rebo

2026-10-10 21:00 It’s funny that sailors would change the name of starboard to port because of the confusion but scientist were too scared to change the name of the sperm whale after they found out that it wasn’t jizz. They could’ve changed it to pseudosperm whale, COWARDS!!

Abraham

As a lifelong michigander, I forget non lakelanders think of ponds when they hear the word lake. I absolutely pictured a superior sized lake when Jake described Imogene.

Lee Mulkins

I say this with love and don’t mean to belabour the points the other three already made but Murph has a flat earthers’ understanding of lakes 😭 the curvature of the earth hides way more than you would think and the Great Lakes are HUGE. Inland seas with undertow and deadly currents, naval battles and shipping lanes.

Lark is Here

Adding this to the list of things D&D taught me

Lark is Here

My middle school banned Axe body spray since the kids were using it so much

syzmon

I've been playing in a campaign as a mermaid fey living in a lake. a pre-campaign historical battle took place there , the water flow was cut off by some mages and there were many deaths during the battle. now her lake is a bog and there are tons of bog bodies in there. I'm all about the terrifying texture and feel of lake floors!!! very possible that the friendly otter brushing by your leg is actually a dead body!!!!

Tommy Self

Haven’t listened but what the fuck is Max Rebo doing in my feed

Retail Hell Court Jester

Replica by the Fireplace by Maison Margiela is a really great smoky scent!! In reply to Caldwell's signature scent

Nick Kipouros

My brother played a huttese jizz wailer in a Star wars campaign named Mama the Hutt. He didn't want to run his family's crime ring, he just wanted to jizz.

Eric Pierce

I lived next to lake Superior for a few years and they actually have a coast guard base in several parts of the lake.

J. Marshall Smith

It’s something we all do. When you read a word like gunwale there’s no way your imagine it isn’t pronounced “gun-whale”

uh

You know it's gonna be fire when the cover is a elephant with its fingers cut off

uh

With a TV remote dress?

Oru

Humbly begging for a jake boat mixed bag. I want to hear this man ramble abt the stuff he's looked at the way Emily talks abt mythology. Also the SR cover is great. Rly has that shitpost energy I want him to be our mascot

TeamLouie

Hey, so I’m sort of a fragrance hobbyist that used to wear Axe body spray but later moved on more expensive fragrances. One major difference that you’ll notice between the two is that more designer fragrances have layers of scents that change as you wear it. There’s Top Notes/Head Notes, which is what you smell seconds after skin contact. There’s Middle Notes/Heart Notes which is what you smell for the majority of the time you wear it and it takes a little bit to settle in. Then there’s Base notes, which is the smell that lasts the longest from your fragrance. And then there’s a big difference between spraying it on a paper or the air and smelling it versus smelling it on your skin because everybody’s body chemistry is different and it can change the way it smells overall on your body. Not even getting into things like the different types of fragrance like EDT, EDP, Parfum, etc and also things that affect the fragrance like amount of alcohol vs oil in the scent. Whereas, things like Axe just kind of have one scent and no real layer to it. So if you end up doing a fragrance test, and you get the tester paper, I recommend smelling each thing once right from the get-go and then letting it sit for a few minutes and smelling it again because it’ll smell different.

Chip

Matt Colville mentioned 🙌🙌

Wojtek

Okay if we're doing Disney colognes, I am begging for a cologne that smells the way the bug platter looks in The Lion King

Tren LF. (TheLagFairy)

My friend and roommate would put his jeans in the freezer so when he had to wake up for class he got wide awake when he slipped them on lol.

Willow McNeil

I work at a nature center, and there are only three animals the keepers don't go on habitat with: black bears, mountain lions, and river otters! They have a crazy powerful bite force

Jarod With

Yeah, unfortunately, you guys absolutely have to do the Axe/Cologne smell test now

Stephen

I cannot wait to find out what the context for the thumbnail is

Mike Fletcher

Black Pheonix Alchemy Lab!! They have a whole D&D scent line. And a cat one. Super good!

Valencia Nix

Caldwell! There is a Grass perfume by Demeter fragrances that just straight up smells like grass!

Professor Pratt

“Jizz is like spunk”, I immediately say out loud loud to nobody, “yup”

Alice W

If you’re looking to get more into perfume/cologne I recommend buying samples! They last much longer than you’d think and it lets you try more unique scents that you know you might not wear often without spending a ton. For example, I don’t know of anything with a crab note but I do know there’s a scent with a lobster accord called Rock Lobster. You can find super creative scents from niche brands with weird notes. Some of my favorites are Pearfat, Heretic, Imaginary Authors, and French Cowboy. There’s also a brand I haven’t tried yet called Fantôme that does scents inspired by folklore and mythology that Emily might like, one of their collections is Slavic folklore and it has a Baba Yaga perfume

Professor Pratt

It works. It was done to me. Granted I was beyond shitfaced, so when I think about it, I probably just pissed my pants in my sleeping bag.

Patrick Briatico-Kirwin

Barbour jacket mentioned!! They do have a unique smell and feel. Surprised Jake didn't know what they were considering I saw them everywhere in New York

Rob H.

I once froze my friend's underwear at a sleepover. Only I had not heard that you were supposed to put it in water first. So I made their underwear a little cold for a few seconds.

Anna Sun

We used to freeze each other’s bras at sleepovers all the time. Easy to fit in between the hot pockets and ice cream

BurtMcKraken

I heard Em say she turned 40?!?! I remember when they were all spry 33 and 34 year olds, all bright eyed and bushy tailed… ******** JAKE: you say “Bow” of the ship like you say “Bow” to a king etc not like you “draw your bow”. Come on Connecticut man I’m going to have you banned from the sailing club if you don’t get your nomenclature correct. TLDR; say “Bao” not “Boe” when talking about ship’s bow.

Nick Neverman

Caldwell’s “well we were slinging it” went criminally unnoticed

Cherry Ruby Jubilee

Yeah I seen a video of them ganging up on an alligator and it died from exhaustion because they were relentless

Cherry Ruby Jubilee

Don’t listen to the Ologies episode about otters if you still want to like them.

Claire

I just said PEMDAS!!! out loud listening to this

Fraser Connell

The distance between Ireland and England is about 103 miles and Lake Michigan has a maximum width of 118 miles

Jesse harapat

This is off topic but Emily you need to play the new galactic racer game! The ammount of interactions with Sabulba needs your input. Haha

Lauren

Omg I also wear cool rush deodorant. Twins

Heliks

Hey Caldwell! Try a fragrance by Tom Ford called Black Lacquer. It's dark and rich scent; vinyl/leather, tobacco, and ebony wood. Don't by a whole bottle, get a sampler for like $10 off a place like DecantX.

Shel B Kennas fav SG wishing you a happy Bog-oween

Former educational sea lion trainer here…. Sea lions would be a perfect creature to reskin for a lake lion at some point. They’re harem animals (pack tactics!) and they will bite (restrain) and drown their prey. The males also tend to go berserk mode when provoked and are strength heavy creatures . Patagonian sea lions are very sweet, however so if you wanted to have river lions be more gentle that is also accurate to these glorious sea mammals

Luke Lu-LaLiberte

Um actually (am I on the right place?), the Great Lakes did have big naval battles. Check out the naval battles of the War of 1812. The Lakes can absolutely sustain large navies, there just haven't been a lot of wars fought between powers on their shores which is why you don't hear about them much. Nearly everyone borders the ocean, only the US and Canada border The Great Lakes but they're absolutely big enough to have navies and pirates.

FiendishNoodles

We've definitely frozen jeans as a prank, but a very fun game at a picnic or BBQ or something is to have 2+ folded frozen 4xl tee shirts, each team must thaw their shirt enough for one (or all) members of the team to wear it.

FiendishNoodles

You can thaw trading off body heat, or by smashing it, or any combination you want

Benjamin Korynta

Emily im coming from YouTube "Oh Melora" you absolutely killed it with those music. Thank you for everything you put out it hits my emotions like a dump truck. THANK YOU

Madeline

Forecastle being pronounced fox-el is also a weird one. What's with boats having things spelled in the least phonetic way possible (in English)?

J. Marshall Smith

Oo that’s one I didn’t know. Learning new things! There’s probably a study somewhere about the specific industry dialects of historical sailing jargon but I don’t know. Nothing on a boat is pronounced like it is written.

Benjamin Korynta

I just saw the Return of the Jedi in concert and the in the credits its called Jizz

Mostlyindignant

Bath and Body Works has partnered with Disney a few times to make Disney princess scents (including Jasmine and Moana)

Benjamin Korynta

Freezing jeans is not a myth! My buddy and I froze a pair of jeans in the Minnesota winter. Took all of 15 min to become solid

Professor Pratt

I love that 1998 Range Rover is your go to old car. Try a 1972 yellow Volkswagen Beetle wagon with the engine in the back and 4 year old me sitting on top of it aka “the way back” Boston to Quebec.

avameow

I have limited fragrance knowledge, I’m just dipping my toes in but I love it lately Emily might like anything from the house Sorce (they have great interesting gourmand scents, can be super sugary and stuff but they also have one called Vampire Wife which is a madeleine cake and orange and like their other fragrance names are amazing). And for book smell Eau Papier from from Diptyque. Paper and woody notes but super super soft and fluttery, almost? I would say that Murph for fresh oceanic could get into ds and Durga rockaway beach. It can be kind of an abrasive opening (smells EXACTLY like rockaway in a crazy way) but the drydown is amazing, musky and salty but clean? To me the whole thing is amazing but some people also hate it For Jake I would say le labo rose 31. Holy shit it’s such a beautiful play of musky dirty from a very culinary cumin and patchouli notes and clean and fresh from the rose. The cumin goes away on me within the first 10-15 minutes and it turns into this gorgeous soapy smell that has this hidden depth behind it. Again some people keep smelling the cumin longer than it would be welcome but it’s really yummy and a great masculine rose scent. For Caldwell I would say either ds and Durga black magenta or Diptyque’s eau rihla. Black Magenta is like cigarette smoke, boozy pineapple, dries down into a nice amber. And it really smells like black magenta??? If that makes sense. You sniff and you see black magenta. Eau rihla is a crazy photorealistic leather scent with a raspberry note. It smelled just like an uber to me. It made my stomach turn because it made me carsick. Terroni by Orto parisi also is a smoky smoky smoke bomb with a lightening raspberry note. Nice! Anyways that’s Ava’s perfume recs xoxo

Adam Lauzun

Freezing underwear is where it’s at. At football camp my best friend tried to put icey hot on my underwear. I got him back by putting all his underwear in water and freezing them. He had to dry them in the microwave.

JakeMeOffBeforeYouGoGo

I was at an exhibition in London about how some dogs where brought to England to breed and that one aristocrat called their dog "Ah Cum". So when did "cum" come out?

JR Lonergan

I loved the reference to Pullings by Jake. Re-reading the Master and Commander series as we speak!

Brian Edwards

We did the 'freeze your jeans' prank. Wait until the person passed out and then soak the jeans and lay them in one of those long horizontal freezers. It was very funny.

zoe cosplayed moonshine!

Ok wait I kinda know what Emily is talking about with the frozen jeans thing. I know that freezing someone’s bra is a sleepover prank that was big when I was young so maybe that’s what she was thinking of.

CommodoreBlue

I think all the voice lines Emily recorded for The Quarry have warped her view on lakes. “Dead body” probably shouldn’t be the first thought when you touch something in a lake

Brother Fern

Duncle Caldwell, can we get a pirate campaign, pretty please? 🏴‍☠️

Jacob Parmenter

I would like to recommend Caldwell my favorite cologne Replica - Jazz Club which is a very smoky boozy spicy cologne I think would fit his description ♥️

Scrumblina Brumblina

I believe they've mentioned it briefly before, but kinda can't believe it took them this long to discuss Jizz music

Bjoernar Tuftin

A lot of semi-literate or illiterate users (the sailors) changing the words over decades if not centuries, barely aware of the spelling, and English having a tradition of hanging on to no longer "valid" spelling. Many other cultures have more frequent updates of their dictionaries, but English got into a bad habit when it started standardizing spelling right before a massive pronunciation shift, and through subsequent shifts instead of the writing profession going "oops, let's just change the 'rules ', they went "so what if great - grate is pronounced the same, and meat and meet are the same, but great and meat have different vowels, changing spellings is for quitters!" Although both bosun and gunnel are in the dictionaries writers cling to the old version that trips readers up, cause that's the English language way.

Problempodden

Wish you spoke about the episode more.

Michael Beck

There are freshwater jellyfish fun fact. There's a lot in Arkansas

Sam Taz

Definitely froze bras as a prank

Jackie Hale

Just started listening to this Short Rest, but it made me think of Spooky Lakes by Geo Rutherford, which is a delightful middle-grade nonfiction book!

Jade

I RAN here to share perfume recommendations as a perfume lover. Caldwell, By the Fireplace by Replica. Murph, Moss by Commodity. Emily, Black Opium YSL. There are a lot of small, niche perfumers doing amazing things rn, but these 3 are fairly easy to find and try.

Sebastian M.

1. Sebastian from Ariel would smell like old (bay) spice. 2. Also, no joke: in Germany there is "Luigi" scented deodorant by Old Spice, with the official Nintendo branding. I was wondering who's the target audience for that?

BrakX

So when I first join the military many many years ago, if someone left there id at work, we would put it in a Ziploc and fill it with water and freeze it

Charlotte

Okay I never comment but Emily (and anyone reading) should check out Alkemia!! I actually use my NADDPOD Paw Paw dice to roll and pick out my combo of the day from all my Alkemia samples lmao, I highly recommend them, they have such cool scents. You can do full sizes, but they also have prebuilt sample kits, as well as build your own sample kits, and then also I think they have one they’ll build for you based on some questions you answer!

Charlotte

I def fired this off too early, Caldwell, look into Highwayman by Alkemia! It’s smoky and leathery!

Preyem

This reminds me of an old sleepover memory: falling asleep first and waking up to everyone still awake and my mouth bone dry, before I could say anything I crunched down on a cheese-it, mumbled "oh that's why" and went back to sleep 😂

Ella S

PLEASE do a fragrance mixed bag

lmcb

Caldwell, I really recommend the fragrance "A City on Fire" by Imaginary Authors - one of its notes is burnt match! Lots of other fun/kooky scents by those folks too.

Hermit

Minneapolis shout out !

Hermit

freezing jeans was a trend. you'd leave em on the lawn upright like a pair of legs walking

John Castle

I was feeling for Jake when he undercut his boat knowledge with “gun whale” instead of “gunnel” 😆 still my master and commander 🫶🏻 And fun fact, forecastle is pronounced “foc’sle”!

Cheese of the Lake

Y’all River Otters are nothing like sea otters. Sea otters are cute and friendly and river otters are vicious and have known to attack and mutilate people

Compound27

1) I don't fear the seaweed, I fear whats in the seaweed and 2) I totally thought Caldwell meant horse play as in horses playing

Smiththebat

There are Sturgeon in fresh water lakes and rivers that are freaking GIGANTIC. And sturgeon are super cool because, similar to crocodiles, they’re basically dinosaurs.

Smiththebat

And they are responsible for caviar.

Patty Crimmins

Starboard is pronounced "star bird" Bow is pronounced like the action of respect in Japan, not the weapon.

KaioftheTiger

MKE area all my life... The lake fears are definitely valid, but it's normal for us up here. How do you feel being so close to the ocean in CA? That's what's wild to me

KaioftheTiger

Also, Emily, frozen jeans was probably from the trend of the really cold winters

Smiththebat

We had an early morning important game for highschool volleyball provincials (equivalent of state in the USA) and we froze our teammates jersey overnight in the hotel room freezer. So it’s definitely a thing….

Smiththebat

Also Axe Phoenix was famously blue.

Ollie

I remember being like under 10 and refusing to swim in a lake because the feeling of the kelp freaked me out so bad

Isaac Nicol-Smith

There's lochs here in Scotland with whale sharks in em. It's deeply upsetting

Bryan Patterson

Also it's "Gunnal" not "Gunwhale" lol I feel him though, if you're just reading about it it's definitely confusing

Bryan Patterson

Can't believe no one has said it, but a perfect name for the Jug band in this vein of conversation since Jake is DM would be "Less than Jizzake"

BurtMcKraken

Yes, definitely spelled gunwhale but if you say it like that I know you’re a landlubber lol like if someone says “forecastle” instead of “foeksull” I cringe hahaha

Maya

The only lake I have expierence with is Lake Michigan, but anyone who lives around it knows that it’s extremely dangerous. Lake Michigan ALONE kills about 45 people a year. It has extreme rip currents and there are days that the waters are announced as “extremely dangerous. Do not swim”. Also, there are an estimated 10,000 sunken ships in Lake Michigan! I love that lake but I can absolutely understand how it can fit a spooky genre like Skaldova.

C.J. Smith

I never had to deal with the frozen bra prank but you have brought back a repressed memory of saving up my babysitting money so I could buy one of the gel padded bras. Only to find out that they look very odd if there is absolutely nothing to lift 😭 Being 13 is rough

Alfredo Delgadillo

Plus Anthony is the biggest star wars fanatic. They can just ask him. He can even speak the language

Madeline L

Shout out to Minneapolis, we are ABSOLUTELY freezing jeans out here.

Tayci Stallings

Look up how absolutely horrible and disgusting sea otters are. River otters are the better otter

Tayci Stallings

Sure but sea otters do bad things to females and baby seals.

Micah Ballard

In high school, while on a winter retreat with my church, the girls’ cabin pulled a prank on the boys cabin by sneaking in, grabbing a bunch of their jeans, soaking them with water, and throwing them outside over tree branches and they froze so solid we could fan each other with them 😂

Hugo Wull

I believe the lake sturgeon gets even larger!

Hugo Wull

Would it freak you out more to know those are actually his toes?

Scottee

Desperately hoping Emily has a "what happened when i put crackers in Murphs mouth" update next episode

Kaidan C

Murph, if anything river pirate makes less sense But more importantly: I love how much of this podcast is just re-explaining Star Wars stuff to Emily who never remembers any of it, and then they all do it again like a hundred episodes later

Joey Conn

Emily please give update on feeding murph crackers while sleeping 🕵🏻‍♀️

Quintessant

And the game is SO good!!! And hes a mentor!! And a rival!!! Its the most fun ive had in a racing game in a long time

JME

Obviously not lake predators, but the show River Monsters is a fascinating study in terrible predators in freshwater. Dogfish and sturgeon come to mind from smaller lakes

Claire

You guys make my little Aladdin loving heart so happy!!

Argonautica

I scrolled a little bit to see but didn't see anyone say it. Gunwhale is pronounced gunnel. Bow is also more like the ou in ouch.

Argonautica

They brought up matt colville videos but I also really recommend mcdms flee mortals, best 5e monster book by a wide margin imo

Brolson

Biggest fish in lake MI would be a sturgeon they can live for hundreds of years and are like dinosaurs! Very rare but they do be big

Damian

I love the great lakes so much. I'm so stoked to hear that they inspired you guys as well!

Samantha Lawson

Gosh I don't know if Jake will ever see or find that gunwale is pronounced "gunnel" but I know he'll feel pretty silly if he ever does

Samantha Lawson

Now I'm on the freezing part and we absolutely froze people clothes as pranks!

AmberDextrous!

Hearing the disney perfume conversation right as I'm putting on my Ursula Sea Witch perfume to head into work was... interesting.

Lord Arrogance

No one mentioning the notorious freshwater and saltwater predator the humble Bullshark.

Fox

I jatzed in my pants at the Max Rebo Skaldova reunion tour

TheRaiOh

I was trying to remember why I had already heard the jizz band anecdote and confused why Emily was hearing it for the first time. It was from listening to daddies!

Taylor Marshall

caldwell you’re looking for jazz club by margiela!!!!!! not to be confused with jizz club, which probably smells less smoky and more sweaty

Em

I worked with otters (sea and north American river and Asian small clawed) and they're little shits and I love them

Bat-Fran

brackets y'all.... brackets change maths

Cora Bright

We did indeed freeze (whoever fell asleep first) an article of clothing. A tank top. A bra. Never jeans though.

Kathryn Martin

I love that this derailed Jizz argument made me prepared for Game Grumps recent derailed argument of if Max Rebos arms were legs.

Zaq Putnam

From Michigan, the great lakes are to be feared. Lake Superior is a cold graveyard with dangerous waves that will swallow you and sink you.

Serge Avery-Girard

100% froze friends jeans as a prank just like Emily described. Soaked in water frozen solid by morning.

Zane R

Caldwell should check out Akro Smoke. It’s a cologne that is basically nostalgic cigarettes. Definitely on the pricier side, but you can get a sampler for like $6.

At boarding school, I was in charge of laundry duty one week and stole a pair of boxes from all the boys bins after washing, laid them out on a porch and they froze during the day. Then we strung them up on the line outside their dorm that night so they wake up to it. I was not assigned laundry again after that but they COULDNT prove it was me.
