Anyone else hear STARSPAWN whenever they say Cinder Sworn

DBot

What a wonderful arc. Lou’s delight at every aspect, including getting batteries, is so heart warming. Can’t wait for their next adventure!

K. Diane

Every time I start a new campaign/arc, I get like a kid with a substitute teacher wanting the old familiar characters and then am so amazed and delighted by an episode or two in. The way you all embody your characters and bring them to life is incredible. Lou was phenomenal and I was so sad this arc was over, only to remember that means we get to resume the story I had been so sad to temporarily put down. Your storytelling is magic ✨

Rumi Tuesday

Another autumn without an Eldermourne sequel or the return of Lou Wilson 🫤

Compound27

Dragon Rose clearly fruits Dragon fruit

Alex VG

WE WANT MORE LOU

Bangers and Cash

Literally just finished the episode this is clutch! 💯💯

jaydon

Don’t forget to come back Lou

Wit & Whimsy

Woohoo!! Thank you everyone for being your great selves

Billie Ash

Tears for Lou's departure, joy for Lou's inevitable return.

Maxwel Anderson

A bouquet of key points for the hexbuds 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

King of the City Pigeons

I don’t believe I’m about to be that guy, but what good is being a nerd if you don’t “umm, actually” sometimes? Umm, Actually Monks have proficiency in Dex and Strength. Every class has a major saving throw (Dex, Con, Wis) and a lesser used throw (Int, Cha, Str). I agree with daddy Murphy though, Monks can be OP.

Erin Paxson

Thanks Lou for Jabari the Safari!!!! Cant wait to see the Hex Buds again and cant wait for the Choo Choo crew! Also @jake this whole time I imagine Lake the dog is played by Benji from Yoga with Adriene

Dana A

the amount of money i would pay to see "Murder: The Musical!" starring Jabari the Safari....

Westin Lanser

I was pretty convinced that the child of the Trickster was actually Henry until Murph said it as a joke.

Nesve Fowl

I am very excited to have Caldwell back, but cannot wait for Lou to return!

Jacob Bless

I was just debating if I wanted to be the guy to "Hey Sweetie" them about that.

jaydon

Narshty schmytes

SaltyBurrito

Gutted to say goodbye to Lou. His excitement to play is infectious and Jabari is simply amazing. Can't wait to see the Hexbloods later on

H-Train

“that would be the weirdest twist” what do you mean “would be”???? i genuinely thought that’s what murph was implying

H-Train

also the best naruto analogy would probably be like “you’re sasuke and you have to choose between orochimaru and the rest of team 7” idk i haven’t watched that much naruto

Michael

start a Petition to add Lou to the podcast permanently

Pierre-Luc Lefebvre

I will miss the hexblood so much ! Please Lou come back soon. Love it so much

Thomas Friedlander

I still think it's Henry. It makes so much sense with what Bad Shank said and I bet Murph made that joke to try and throw us off the scent!

Bunnay Ch33ks

As someone with ~*religious trauma*~ the reaper god gives me such bad vibes but I love how y'all are handling it.

Bunnay Ch33ks

Btw - roses do fruit! They make little berries that are called rose hips.

Kelley Boonruang

I think it was the Atlanta live show Caldwell chucked the hot dice into the crowd? Anyone remember?

David Wieland

The only thorn I've got is, that Cameron Diaz' performance was really lackluster this arc. Hope she step's it up, when the Hexbuds return

Bill French

I had the exact same thought as Murph that the King coming out of the flames was reminiscent of Resident Evil, though I was picturing Nemesis on fire and jumping into the river from RE3

Mellow Brown

I love the show, but man... PLEASE ADD LOU! Both him and Jabari add something really fun and exciting that the main campaign doesn't always capture.

Garga Lenoir

They held back too! They didn't use Corbeau's hex, they often did the stun at the end of the round instead of the start, they didn't always use evasion... This could have been an even more brutal curbstomp!

Garga Lenoir

@Murph : Would it have done anything if during the fight they had destroyed the king's head? Also the Leoric power comes from his incarnation in the vastly underappreciated moba Heroes of the Storm where he traps enemies (and more often than not allies...) in a tomb to drain their life and kick their ass.

PineappleLiar

This might be a pie in the sky thought about the future of the campaign but talking about Caldwell being in the next Hexbuds arc just had me thinking that Caldwell plays the one (1) who actually went through with the recruiting process and adds Bev energy to their crew

Frank

Roses do fruit! They create rose hips. Also, roses are closely related to apples, so the dragon rose could grow some freaky ass dragon-scaled apples...

Vonvonvon

IN ORDER TO REMEMBER THIS ARK THE RIGHT WAY I'M GONNA NEED A SHIRT THAT JUST SAYS "ARE YOU CRAVEN?"

B.Holmes

Having so much fun imagining the Hexbloods and the Choo Choo Crew crossing paths down the line. I know it’s impossible but what I wouldn’t give for all 6 characters to interact and react to each other!

Logenthar

Thank you so much to Lou! You did an incredible job and it's been so much fun to listen to this arc!

Ash Hammack

Absolutely convinced Murph is pulling a trickster trick on us and Henry IS in fact the Trickster's child. Gonna get almost to the end and that's gonna be revealed and he'll get to be like "I mean I told you back at the end of arch 2."

Tech Adept Crafts

Lou, thanks for being a part of this family. It has been a fantastic ride and we'll see you when the train comes back around. I am really feeling the Henry child theory. There are thing that Shank has said that make sense with this piece of the puzzle added. Plus the moral conundrum leads to he two casts of characters fighting each other which was also suggested. I feel like Murph is building a puzzle from different sides of the board and we won't see the full picture until the final piece. "Mans got chapters"

Robert McDaniel

A shirt with the petty king's head just shouting "ARE YOU CRAVEN?!"

Robert McDaniel

I wish HotS wasn't on life support... I love the game, but lack of content is a sure sign of it dying.

sesamese

*after caldwell threw out his magical die in boston* we cut to the bleachers hours later, everyone gone, and we see a desperate Jake Hurwitz crawling in between the seats looking for the mythical dice

Garga Lenoir

People keep saying that, but there are many maps and regular new heroes, and more than enough players to find games quickly.

Hemlock

Murph, you should check out the Mythic Encounters in "Mythic Odysseys of Theros." I think they'll help build multi-form encounters. I've used them a few times and I adore them

rscx

Murph saying in the intro he watched Pokémon but was to old for it makes me feel seen.

Mick

Check him, Em and Murph playing on dimension 20!

Saru

I think Henry is cursed by something he did in one of his former lives. Now Fia's childhood friend Irina on the other hand 👀 I'm not sure how common sorcerers are in this world so maybe there is something more to her

FiendishNoodles

Every time Emily and Murph talk about Naruto so reverentially, I get a big goofy smile on my face, and I don't even particularly love Naruto. They probs don't have the time or inclination but hunter x hunter is pitch perfect for them, complete with goofy and weird humor, switching in-and-out of main characters, excellent villains and great world-building. Maybe I'll PO box them some blu-ray to sweeten the deal.

Sarah Sullivan

Lou you did so well we LOVED ALL OF YOU this little side campaign was so delightful we cannot wait for more!!!

Dre W.

I think I might watch hunter x hunter because of this 😁

Vonvonvon

WHEN HE SAYS "ARE YOU CRAVEN" IT KINDA SOUND LIKE CRAVING AND I'M LOLING HARD

Vince Mascoli

I just have to say that I was really into Eldermourne since the get go but this whole arc really sealed it for me. I love how lived in this world feels and it hits me right in my Diablo 3 loving heart. It’s just so great. And Lou was amazing and I really can’t wait til they figure out how to bring him back later. Honestly, I think it’d be really cool if after this next portion of the main campaign they were to do that “Narsty Smites” part of the campaign with another guest like Zac, Brennan, or Siobhan.

FiendishNoodles

The whole thing is a fun ride but in particular, there's an arc where the main characters shift to a group of evil, superpowered master thieves trying to pull off a murderous heist against the world mafia. The main arc in the 2nd half of the series also has some of the better storytelling I've experienced.

Moonlit Ghost

I feel like Murph told them the truth with Henry. Think about it, someone who relives life over and over again, never truly dying? Henry's cursed, his shadow turns into an old man, its been made out to feel like Henry if the cursed child

Unloved

So listening to the short rest I think I realized that tarragon is only a lvl6 monk, with her 5 levels of cleric, so she wouldn't have evasion, since that's 7th level correct? So she would've taken half damage from that AoE attack. The outcome would've been the same but at least Murph would've thought he was being slightly effective in the fight lol

Mirrhi

Roses fruit! They produce rosehip which can be used for tea, jams and sauces, fruit leather and people use rosehip oil to try reduce scarring. Dragonrosehip tea sounds amazing tbh.

Professor Pratt

Guys, you are the absolute highlight of my week. Mad props to Lou! His appreciation for you is contagious and he has said all the things I would say if I could sit in on a short rest. Murph, your creativity, wit, and commitment to your players shines through every episode. Jake, having been a faithful listener since Ep 1 in Moonstone, your development as a player has been a joy to watch grow with each new character you take on. And Ms. Emily, you are joy incarnate. I have no idea what your life has been like up to this point, but I want you to know you are the embodiment of every cool girl I knew or wish I knew in high school, college, and beyond. In fact there are moments when I listen to my 13 year old daughter and think, “man, she’s going to be that cool nerdy girl that doesn’t quit and embraces her quirks as gifts.” Sorry to get all sappy stories on you guys. Wait until Caldwell comes back and starts telling baby stories; I’m probably going to be a mess. Keep up the amazing work and I look forward to when you can tour again.

Con

Jake was rolling constant crits in the final battle in the first campaign too, so it's not like the rolls are anything new for him. Doesn't stop it from being absolutely insane.

MightyMick

What's the stretch goal to add Lou as permanent fixture?

ExcArc

In the final combat of the Bahumia campaign he was rolling 8 attacks a round, each of which was reckless and had a 18-20 to crit.

Con

Point being, it's not like this hasn't happened before and he's been known to do insane things given the right circumstances

GREGORY WAGNER

I'm a bit late on this one, but I finally watched "The King of Staten Island" Really great movie and Lou was amazing. Congrats Lou! Can't wait to see you do more.

Brendan Watroba

Emily - don't know if you're familiar with the British rapper and TV host Big Narstie, hopefully he won't sue over the new character! I loved this arc so much but am equally excited to check back in with the old crew!

Crystal Reynolds

I am imagining Jabari giving notes to the bards that follow him around playing his workout music. “No you sing it like this: “ my king!!” Looking forward to seeing Murder the Musical when it makes it to Broadway.

Dmkampz

Yo I don’t know If Jake meant it, but when he said “that’s what back to the future is about” in response to going back in time as a charming person.... he was 100% accurate. Well done!

Gavin Owen

So poetic Narsty makes a comeback because jake first said those exact words in the fight against the coral reef drake in the mavrus chronicles ep 4 ☺️

Kelly Williams

As your friendly neighborhood science teacher I wasn’t going to be able to resist bringing up rose hips and how many things we don’t think of as fruit are totally fruit. But many brilliant folks have already beaten me to it. So I’ll settle for saying I loved the episode & the arc! Thanks for bringing your creativity, joy, and humor to us!

Garrett Morrow

OMG MURPH I AM GOING CRAZY I haven’t seen anyone else say this! Stunning Strike can only be activated on a melee weapon attack, (aka your Monk Weapon). It says so right on the ability, page 79. “When you hit another creature with a melee weapon attack, you can spend 1 Ki point etc... You cannot Stunning Strike on Flurry of Blows.

Garrett Morrow

Well, after more research, it appears that I am wrong and I apologize

Lucia V.

Roses make rosehips!! Dragonhips anyone?

Lucia V.

Ah, I see many have made this point more eloquently before me

Nicholas P Neumann

I've never felt more seen than when Brian talked about killing Berkin at 2am

jackalope503

NADDPOD gang: joking that the reincarnated god is Henry. Me: haha... ha... yeah totally... I didn't think that.... that's... ridiculous

Alyssa I.

So real question: what style of musical would Jibari's flashbacks be? I was thinking either hard knock life from Annie for the Hexblood training or maybe the king and I.

Hymntastic

How long are you guys going to be doing this rotating hero's thing?

Melon Bread

It's okay imo, they completely forgot about Stillness of Mind but it made for a much cooler fight with Lou reliving his fight with the giants.

Nikolaus Cox

Lou Wilson was an amazing addition to the crew. What a delight and a pleasure!

nonya bizness

Ohp guess I was wrong 😂 I did think it was Henry actually

Foster Doss

Anyone else imagining Caldwell sitting there mic muted and only speaking up to take them out?

Genaro Morales

Because of Jabari I'm going to be playing a character who speaks in third person

Dr. Bearkele

When Lou Wilson shows up to work, he shows up to fucking work. If you don't believe me, go to dropout and watch the episode of Game Changer where he blows Giancarlo Esposito out of the water in an acting challenge (GC was overacting but Lou was perfect)

Summer Tribe

every single optimizer disagrees about monks being OP. Also people clapping back against "um actually"s always seem weird to me, like yes it can be annoying but now you have more information, stop whining

Gearbox

sounds like Jake and Emily have their choice in the trolley problem made up. There's no shame in that, it's just interesting to see someone not even considering the other side.

Alex Herndon

When are we going to get the sequel? The people want answers Murph!
