Been listening to every episode of Naddpod, in a meandering order. I have about 5 or so episodes left. After 100s of episodes: this is my first comment. Murph is wrong about Eat Pray Love

Adam!!!!!

for the clowns it depends on context. if there's a full party of them at one table it's completely fine. if they're coming in one by one and sitting at normal customers tables striking up conversations i'm out.

Daveed

Years two late but absolute shout out to Murph's Atreyu reference

Hammy

Is the clown question the inception of Surprise Round?

Lilli of the bog

My first memory was watching my house burn down lmao

ThacoIsWacko

The biggest star is UY Scuti. *flees*

Ashleigh Hanlon

"you're milked by the government!" Where is the t shirt?

Colton T

The audio is so quiet in some parts and then peaking in other parts. Usually is ms axeford over there.

Blake Vandiver

"If you asked who has the lowest clown tolerance I would have said it would be me" followed by Jake's "AT 16?!" Had me quite literally on the floor laughing lmao, this was absolute gold start to finish

Grass

“I’m not tired it’s like a mellow vibe” I’m embroidering that on a pillow

Jack

Dang so much content this week! Thanks!

Evan Cordero

Happy Anniversary Murph and Emily!!!

Ro

offerings from the city pigeon are bodacious and bountiful this week! thank you murph!

Emily

Eat Pray love was 3 separate locations read a book 📖

Haley Anne

Who's going to tell them Caldwell was correct about Eat, Pray, Love?

Gettier

We eating good on content tonight

Luke Kell

Happy Anniversary Murph and Emily!!!

Alex Widdison

I second Iceland! Just got back from an 8 day conversion van trip around the country and it was an amazing experience. Highly recommend doing Ring Road and the Golden Circle! I was also able to introduce my girlfriend to NADDPOD during all of the drive time!

Katie Watkins

Happy anniversary Emily and Murph! I think it's so funny that Jake hasn't seen eat, pay, love

Patrick Buechler

Did Caldwell say “With our hands in our ass” at 23:58? 😂

Michael Delaney

Happy anniversary Emily and Murphy! Also random fun fact, according to the clown code of ethics clowns are supposed to change out of costume and makeup as soon as they're done performing, so I'd either be expecting a show or some crazy shit about to happen because they're not actual clowns lol

Nick Spivey

As I was listening I was like I kinda wanna watch a feel good movie like this. Watched the trailer and it starts with Jake being wrong lol

Beb

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!! (A few days late now)

Zander Boettcher

This was the greatest thing ever😂😂😂 Happy Annicersary btw💕🎉

Marisa

I asked the clown question to my mom and she said "that's a stupid question...15 clowns."

Tomi

thank god for masks because i was laughing like a fucking idiot at the clown bit in class

atlasrising

Group costume idea for the live show: 16 clowns...imagine a row of clowns in the audience 😂😂😂

Noah James Perito

One of (if not the first) memories I have is me pretending to be an airplane and making a “crash landing” that involves me head butting the corner of a wall. Painful memories = the ones that stick!

roomwithoutawindow

Yo was Emily frickin boofed during DM Court? Seemed like some powerful kombucha

Courtney F.

Murph ever so quickly, without a hint of shame, telling us about how he shit himself.. honestly the hardest I've laughed in forever. Did you just say you shit yourself? 🤣🤣 Definitely need more general questions chat, this was a good one guys.

Gotteswaise

Caldwell's idea of Eat Pray Love was genius as an analogue to marry fuck kill. I don't have a lot of success in those kind of party games because it can be awkward and weirdly objectifying, but as a guy who likes geography and the idea of travel, choosing a City/country to go to for the food, one for a spiritual experience of any kind, and one to go with a romantic partner. I'm gonna try this and maybe Caldwell will have boosted my IRL Charisma

Kailie Hind

I love hearing peoples 1st memories! Mine was being ENRAGED that the wind was tangling my hair and buffetting my coat. So, not a pain thing, but an extreme emotion thing i guess

AJ Carreau

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!! 😄

Hunter Larrison

Um Actually, in Eat Pray Love they were actually three different countries. Eat was Italy, Pray was India, and then she finds Love in Indonesia.

AJ Carreau

This was all amazing!!! We need more of this! 🥺

Dana A

hearing emily talk about history & the things she's studied makes me want to go back to school, what a great answer to the eat pray love question omg

Austin Johnson

I think we need to get at least 16 people dressed as clowns at the live show. Really test this bold clown tolerance claim.

David Hamet

I wonder if clowns have a regular people tolerance.

Bonky Fiasco

My first memory was being extremely upset on my 3rd birthday, for which the weather report had predicted rain. Instead, I woke up to clears sunny skies. Now I trust no one.

Zarroc

Happy Anniversary!

tommy

Murph’s unwarranted confidence in incorrectly asserting that Eat, Pray, Love is only set in Italy is something I aspire to. #RobertsDidThree get it trending

Sarah

I love how adamant yet wrong Murph is about the Eat, Pray, Love

j-worms

Hearing “DICK CHENEY WOULD’VE MILKED YOU” made me literally double over laughing

Armando Ocampo

Once 5 or 6 clowns walked in and just walked around I would ask if we were being held hostage

Alden Bettencourt

coming to the comments to see who else knew they were wrong about eat pray love. Julia Roberts turns her back on the boobs

Donny

The belly button question made me regret listening to this during dinner.

Mae B

My earliest memory is from when I was about a year old and it is just the playground at the daycare I went to because they wouldn't let me play on the big kids playground I had to play on the small one. I didnt learn I was a year old until later when I pointed the daycare out to my mom and she asked me how I remembered because I was only at that particular daycare for a few months when I was one.

Teo Tamashiro-Harris

Just to expand, for the record, the film/book has for the three places Eat - Italy Pray - India Love - Indonesia

Mae B

My highschool also had best car but like. It was a hick town so the biggest truck with a bunch of weird mods always won. We also had worst car which my sister won with a teal 1996 car with manual roll up windows

Nia R

Honestly, Murph and Emily’s relationship is one of the highlights of listening to NADDPOD. Whether it’s Murph’s genuine amazement with Emily when she solves a puzzle in an unexpected way or the way Emily supports Murph and the ways they share parts of their relationship with us is so dang cute. Happy belated anniversary you guys!!!!

Timothy Ling

This was SO GOOD. You 4 have such a good dynamic outside of the D.&D space.

Brandon Walker

I'm with Murph about the clowns. If every other table at the restaurant was filled with clowns and they were minding their own business I would mind mine and eat my meal.

faizaan723

Oh my god, Emily's talking about Abd Al-Rahman I (I think)! I just learned about him in my Islamic history class. The Umayyad dynasty lasted almost a hundred years, but their mistreatment of non-Arabs allowed the Abbasid family to sow discontent and stage a revolution. The Abbasids took over, slaughtering the Umayyad family but for the young prince Abd Al-Rahman I, who narrowly escaped with his life and spent some time in exile in North Africa before forging a Caliphate of his own in Cordoba (modern Spain) that would last centuries. This is maybe the western side of me coming through, but it really gave me Daenerys vibes of the ruling family being slaughtered but for the young child who fled to another country and forged an empire of their own

Minos Xenophontos

It’s astounding how wrong y’all got the Eat, Pray, Love question

MetalForTheGods

Congratulations on your anniversary!!! My wife and I just had our 2 year in august!

thaesimir

I am all for this energy

Simon Derks

Thank you so much for picking my stupid stupid clown question

Zane P Moses

BLACK MOUNTAIN FRIGGIN RULES!!!

CodeSpirit

This was so fun to listen to!

Katy Tacik

One year on my birthday, there was a guy at the next table telling his friend about having to go to the hospital because he got his dick stuck in a flesh light. I feel like if I can make it through that, my clown tolerance is *infinite*.

Micah

Earliest memory: walking home from the library at age 3 with my mom. We see a ran over frog on the side of the street. It is there, that I knew I would die one day. The thought has not left my brain since.

Mentalpop

This entire hearthside chat was hemp milk levels of hilarious. send help!!

Lori P.

My first memory was of sitting in a waiting room waiting to get shots. I accurately described the waiting room to my mom years later and she said we had only ever gone there once- for my 18 month shots.

aphyrex

Guys, you should know better BECAUSE EMILY AND CALDY WERE RIGHT. Julia Roberts actually went to ALL THREE locations in Eat Pray Love... "she discovers the true pleasure of nourishment by eating in Italy, the power of prayer in India, and, finally and unexpectedly, the inner peace and balance of true love in Indonesia." (get womped, Murph! <3)

Joe S

I was eating breakfast and listening to the show when Murph started talking about loogies and I straight up almost puked.

Clay Gibbons

Andalucía is amazing! If you are interested in the Muslim influence on the region, look up mudéjar architecture, it’s super cool. Also Sevilla and Granada are so fun to visit, especially Granada with the Alhambra!

BuffVenom

Give me a "hemp!"

Jen M

I’m not easily influenced! - she says, watching Eat Pray Love and eating fancy olives…

Kenna L

Murph being so confident about the plot of a movie he has clearly never seen is so funny

Dippity_Dip

Can confirm- as a youngest child, everyone stops giving a shit😂

Bryttany A

Murph’s booger tale had me NAUSEOUS the whole time

BuffVenom

Wanted to shout at them corrections but then love and respect to the goddess and gods of comedy D&D 😅😝🙇

Marge In Charge

A MEDIUM CLASS IS 200?!? Wtf?!? There are bigger ones? For reference, I graduated with 27. Most city friends I have graduated with like 250 I think. Idk. I can’t fathom that many people the same age coexisting in one building. My next google search is average graduating class size.

Marge In Charge

It’s over 1000. I’m next going to pacify my brain with cartoons…

Karl

Maybe it's an Australian thing, but if a whole bunch of clowns rocked up, I would assume Bachelor Party or end of season event for a local sports team.

ian young

If it we get me a erotic one-shot with Jake being the God of Anal I'd seriously consider becoming a member of the council of elders.

Brendan Clayton Owens

I was working out while listening to this and almost crushed my chest when I heard "dew delivery"

Meletios

Oh my god PLEASE more non-dnd related content I love your conversations

mandie lee

i agree with emily. 1 clown is weirder than multiple clowns.

Liam Harvey

This episode had me laughing like an idiot at work. That i had headphones in and nobody else could hear anything just made it seem weirder.

Gumbercules

One clown with a party of non-clowns? Or one clown eating alone?

Joe D’Antonio

Murph is able to tolerate a truly insane clown posse

D'ran Dana

Come to the Pacific Northwest! We love you!

DMCDawg

I have never lost my appetite. The clowns would have to be doing physical violence to me.

Lisquander

Holy shit I’m crying that my question got answered tysm

Lisquander

Crying from laughing not cause I’m emotional

Captain_kirst

I graduated in a class of 23 and was voted best person to bring home to meet your parents

Stephano

Bellybutton Brew seems legit

Katherine Elizabeth

This was my first month of being a Patreon supporter and damn this episode on its own will keep me supporting y’all, I was on my way to work and CRYING with laughter during the clown question. Murph pivoting to “with those big shoes I think I could take them” 😭

Peter Mundell

Emily talking about wanting to go to Spain because of the Islamic Prince made me think about how my parents went on a trip with a bunch of friends to Italy and the one place my dad wanted to go most was the Crypt of the Capuchin Monks. (Also seems like a place y’all would find cool and interesting)

SoupLightning

This was the best hearthside ever. Its refreshing to break out of the D&D only vibes.

David P

Love the chaos in the conversation, could listen to them for hours! I'm a Spaniard and my gf is from Córdoba (the ancient capital of Islamic Spain) and a huge history & art nerd, so if Emily (or any other naddpole!) would be interested in any tips for visiting the region (it's awesome, everyone should go visit), it would be my pleasure to give some.

Mae B

I was listening to this at the mechanics and right as Murph was talking about fighting the clowns my audio suddenly disconnected from my bluetooth headphones and automatically connected to my car audio, almost certainly confusing the poor mechanic moving it.

Sarah Wallace

Murph she went to Italy, India, and Indonesia

Anna Wasilczuk

Listening to the murphs memory reallg made me want to throw up

Welliboot

I hate how much I relate with murph on the 16 clowns, like it doesn't matter how many there are I'm still finishing my meal. I'll definitely ask a waiter about tho, cus ya know, I gotta know why so many clowns, but after that I'm back to chowing down.

Paxton

I don’t know if Emily is human

Apex

Lmao this is bothering me so much listening to it

DnD Beyond Confused

I think my 1st memory is falling off a haybell at like 3 or 44 and breaking my arm

Tomi

my class size is 500 and it’s not even that big in the grand scheme of chicago schools

Ash Le

Tokyo and Japan in general is definitely my one place I would go to. Such an awesome place steeped in culture and history. Food is also consistently great there.

Clotilde

truly loved this

Squishy, Pawpaw's Brushtail Possum lover

My earliest memory was also painful. I was 2 and my sister's rooster attacked me, barley missed my eyes, I still have a few scars on my cheeks.
